But I’m only getting core Decepticons.
Not to mention, I can’t justify $13+ for each one of these.
In fact, if I can’t get Shockwave on some sort of sale/promotion, I’ll skip him & wait for Thundercracker.

He does look better, especially considering the different price point.

I don't think there is a core ironhide coming, yet. But this Ratchet isn't an exclusive I can tell you that.

I would have preferred they went with the Cyberverse approach which has a better lower torso.

It's all because G1 Ratchet and Ironhide's character models didn't have grills in their stomachs.william-james88 wrote:blackeyedprime wrote:Looks good, lower toorso is what it is. Maybe it was going to have a combining peg for reuse as first aid and a core class combiner

Makes me wish they made an original mold for Earth mode Ironhide/Ratchet because this seems to pull off that look without a removable roof or Siege leftovers!

Pretty sure that got thrown out the window with Studio Series BB Shockwave.
(They're probably just offering cheaper figures for people that can't afford the pricy full-sized releases.)

STUDIO SERIES CORE CLASS: Core Class figures are 3.5-inch collectible action figures that allow fans to collect mini versions of iconic characters from the movie universe
• 3.5-INCH SCALE DECEPTICON RUMBLE (BLUE): Figure features vivid, movie-inspired deco, is highly articulated for posability
• 2 ICONIC MODES: Figure features classic conversion between robot and cassette modes in 9 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up
• AWESOME ACCESSORIES: Comes with 2 thruster blasters and 2 pile driver accessories
• BIG SCREEN-INSPIRED: This 3.5-inch Decepticon Rumble (Blue) figure is inspired by the character’s appearance in The Transformers: The Movie
Sounds great to me, I was actually only expecting blasters or piledrivers so both is a nice surprise and the inclusion of the parentheses on (Blue) almost makes calling the blue one Rumble okay.
Also, reminder for those invested in scale and/or Soundwave functionality: the size of the figures as listed by the product descriptions is standardized by price point and NOT ACCURATE to the actual figures, just because the listing says 3.5-inch does not mean Rumble will measure in at exactly that. If that part of the description was accurate, then every Deluxe from Siege/Studio Series Wave 1 til now would be the exact same heights.

I'm kinda annoyed we are about to have go number 3 since TR at the cassettes. They need to get this right and move on from those guys

And why did they replace the crosses on his shoulders with "stars of life"? That isn't accurate to his appearance in the movie. I thought the point of Studio Series 86 was to homage the film.
I'll stick with Masterpiece Ratchet.

Kind of funny that his 3 second cameo in the movie was enough to put him in this subline.
But no complaints here… Next year I’ll finally have my favorite Dinobot in my collection!!!!
It's not really related to his screen time. This is just the line they decided to release these guys in.
This ^
Not only this, but I also believe Studio Series has slight different budget/economics to the line that made leader Dinobots fit better. For starters, only about 50% of the Studio Series leaders get a second use, while 100% of the legacy leaders either get a retool/redeco, or a flat out re-release.
Other than G2 colors, there really isn't a second use for any of the leader Dinobots, and I see a full set in G2 colors being a pretty big risk at $55 a pop. So studio series makes more sense than Legacy just because they don't have to count on a second use of the mold like they do for Legacy and did for WFC.

So far I only have Netflix Soundwave, but really want more minions. Don't really care if the cassettes are a bit bigger...I even toyed with the idea of using KO MP Cassettes...

Wave 2 of Legacy has a soundwave rerelease, so it coincides well with having this care class bot available on shelves at the same time
Also, 3.5 is in all descriptions for the size class, not indicative of how big this specific toy will be.

Edit: Dang, I'd forgotten how inconsistently sized Rumble and Frenzy are.

BLIX007 wrote:Wow a 3.5" Rumble!! Guessing he will not be able to transform down enough to pack him inside Netflix Soundwave, bummer. At least he comes with pile drivers and weapons
Why not? Eject has more articulation then the siege cassettes while also being compatible. 3.5 is the class scale not the size of the figure. Buzzworhty Bumblebee with spike is also labeled for n his detail at 3.5 and he’s smaller then that. What’s the point of releasing a cassette if they’re not compatible with with a character who can fit them that will be on the shelf at the same time. Siege soundwave.

william-james88 wrote:FYI, it's well known that the issue with Ratchet's shoulders is that they have the logo for the Red Cross which would mean Hasbro would have to get an extra license. Not only is that extra money but the Red Cross does not give it's license out to war toys.
I thought about that, but the problem I have with that reasoning is that his arms don't have the logo for the Red Cross- they simply have red crosses.
You can't copyright the shape of a cross, which is just two perpendicular lines, and you can't copyright the color red.
Hasbro can simply say that they're only red crosses, not the logo for the Red Cross, which is completely truthful.

If not with the height, then the overall “bulk”, or in this case, being a bit on the trim side so that his proportions aren’t stubby like the Siege cassettes.
Not to mention, packed with 2 guns & pile drivers (& especially assuming they have basic articulation)—
to keep that all at the $11.99 price point, I think he’s going to be on the small side of the Core class.
Which is fine with me… Hastak has done enough right in the last few years that I’m thinking this will be a good, fun little figure.

What's funny is that I haven't even gotten around to opening my Rumble Wingthing set, so I guess I should have just waited. lol

He will be the same size as Eject but with more accessories.

Well in the movie, when Laserbeak is in this form, he's the size of a child... so makes sense really.

To further derail, did anybody else see the Darkmount listing?

TFW2005 wrote:It’s time for yet another Transformers leak, this time from a different source – Amazon has supplied us with with a new Legacy Leader listing for Darkmount, AKA Straxus.
Interestingly the listing notes that he will be released on October 1, 2022 rather than 2023 like the other recent leaks. Whether this is true or some sort of error/placeholder remains to be seen. Other than that, we have no further details at the moment.
Take this as a rumor for now, but you can check it out and share your thoughts on the boards.
Update: TFW has been made aware that this may in fact be a mislabelled store listing for the upcoming Legacy Leader Dragon Megatron figure. We advise taking it with a grain of salt for now until further clarification is received.
Personally, I'd be 100% in favour of a new Straxus over TM2 Megatron. What would be involved to upscale him into Leader Class though

Yes, and purposefully chose to ignore it since it is misinformation.

I'm glad the SS86 is a voyager because it's a take back to the original's size.
Transforming both into bike mode is trickier than it appear at first glance. For the G1, there's a hidden double hinge joint inside the engine block. You must push it "up" for the bot mode, and "down" for the bike mode. As for the SS86, I forgot to use the hinge joint of the gaz tank for bike mode. This simple missed step made the whole transformation seems impossible.
Still, both bikes looks bad-ass and silly at the same time.
Speaking of silliness, can SS86 WG ride G1 WG?
Not perfect, but yes!
How about the opposite?
Well, surprisingly yes! The G1 bot can even hold onto the SS86's bike handles!
