The images show both the vehicle and robot mode, including the new head and reused accessory for the Junkion, and the compatibility with the Prime Masters (Onyx Prime shown in some shots here), the instructions showing how to attach the weapon, and some of the poses this reuse of Combiner Wars Groove can strike. Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub Discussion boards!

Thanks to those antennae of his. Gotta make the head small enough so it can fit inside the body while keeping his classic antenna-ed head design.Carnivius_Prime wrote:His head looks so tiny.

Isn't it more like 'thanks to the boring re-use of a mold that was designed for another character and not specifically Wreck-Gar at all'?

I like Wreck-Gar but i never even once asked for a CW toy of him forcing the combiner gimmick he never had before. A re-release of the RTS figure (with some improvements to fix the flaws some folk had, mine didn't and I regret selling it) would have been more preferable but nah, it don't fit the line's gimmick (and we got a cruddy little one anyways too). Although technically this is Power of the Primes Wreck-Gar and not Combiner Wars anyways which was two toylines ago and we'd had a whole load of non-headmasters become headmasters since then too but they keep shoving that combining stuff in half the toys anyways no matter if it makes sense or not. I never really thought of Wreck-Gar even being that much of an Autobot to want to combine with a group of them. I thought Junkions were technically allies rather than fellow troops. I dunno. Enjoy, folks. I'm off to get ready for a final rehearsal. eep.

Plus, even though I like his usual asymmetrical design, the lack of asymmetry on this figure does remind me of Animated Wreck-Gar, which is awesome.

The other question that constantly pops into my mind now is:
How would the Takara "Unite Warriors" nicer-paint-app version look if it existed
Besides that, I've been pondering names for a Junkion gestalt for days, too. If anyone has any excellent ones, drop em below!

Junkyard? Debris? Rustbucket? Spareparts? Assembly? Re-Cycle, if they're mostly or all motorcycles? Drivetrain, since it's one defined named system of parts made of a combination of other parts? Wreckage?
I dunno if they qualify as excellent, but they're what I've got so far.

...wait, when did you all preorder your Blast Offs? I've had mine since last week.
Also, as unfortunately expected knowing my usual luck, I went in to Walmart today to check the Deluxes now that they restocked...and they got in Wave 2 restocks INSTEAD OF THE WAVE 3 THEY GOT LAST TIME.
STOP GOING BACKWARDS.

I really have to wonder why they were in such a rush to get "War for Cybertron" going. Did Hasbro literally get bored with "Prime Wars?" I think they left a lot of money on the table not letting "Power of the Primes" go on for another few waves before declaring another "reboot." Imagine a wave 4 with four new figures instead of just one. If the line went on for 6 waves like "Titans Return" did, we might have gotten enough bot limbs that people were clamoring for to fill out Megascream, Elita Inf1nite, and Firestormer. The rest of the Alpha Trion Female Autobots, Sideswipe, Thundercracker and Skywarp: these would have been slam dunks! Maybe for the latter waves, change things up a bit by returning to the Headmaster gimmick and give us the missing Autobot Targetmaster trio as well as Apeface and Snapdragon Voyagers instead of more random "torsos." Finish it off with Leader Star Saber and the rest of the 1987 Minibots for the Legends class, not to mention pretender shells for the rest of the Prime Masters, and people would have been over the moon for the wrap up of this trilogy.

Maybe we might see some of these guys in other lines like blue frenzy/rumble in the bumble bee line which came as a surprise
So there might be hope still

While this is what we as collectors see as a surefire thing, these decisions are made at a corporate level. Basically, it sounds like there was a mandate to bring things "back to basics".
A LOT went wrong for Hasbro (and Transformers) in the last year. TRU going under tanked sales significantly. And TLK was a failure compared to the preceding movies. My guess is the TLK toyline also suffered. And I hear the comics aren't doing fantastic, revenue-wise (though I bet better than most comics these days).
Unfortunately these things happen when corporations do something drastic to "right the ship".
To the bean counters, what characters sell? The original Autobots and some of the Decepticons.
This is really just the fallout of a tough year for Transformers.
I am with you though, quite disappointed about several missing characters from G1. However, I think they are coming. Warden seems interesting in completing the G1 line. So I think Pretender Monsters, Seacons, Horrorcons, Targetmasters, are all coming. Heck, they may special release the remaining Pretender shells at some point too.
Let's all not forget that there is one more show (NYCC) this year. I believe NYCC was when Grotusque was revealed and put up for sale. I think we have one more surprise coming for NYCC.

From what I'm aware, Transformers has done very well in the past year, with the exception of the Last Knight movie. Even the toys sold well, but that's because it was a very scaled back toy line.
I've heard similar things about the comics, but Transformers comics have never been big sellers, not since 2002's Dreamwave Transformers #1.

War for Cybertron was in the works long before the failures of last year. In the absence of a working crystal ball, these decisions were all under way long before 2017 happened.

There are different ways to bring out the "missing characters" without doing it in the way in which we think it should be done. Who knows where and when other characters will show up. Hasbro knows what they're doing. I have great faith in their plans, though I have waited very patiently for the 84 and 85 characters to finally get finished up like Cliffjumper, a proper Huffer, the Deluxe Insecticons, Astrotain done right, Reflector, Hoist and Trailbreaker done right, and so on. Hopefully we'll get those gaps filled in soon!

Not to mention other shows around the world which may give Hasbro other opportunities to unveil other new products. They haven't really done that in the past but considering the onslaught of new products unveiled at SDCC last week, I have great hopes that there is more just waiting right around the corner.

Well, thanks to Seibertron.com fan Marcelo, and yours truly, we now have confirmation that any Blast Off figures that were able to be ordered will be shipping as early as next week. Currently, only Nemesis Prime is in stock, though you must be an Amazon Prime member to purchase him. Additionally, Repugnus and Punch-Counterpunch are available for preorder; there's no word on when/if Blast Off will be available to order again.
Check out the photos below, and click on any of them to be taken to that figure's order page, and let us know if you received a shipping notice for any of these exclusives.
