Putting on an indignant face wasn't difficult for Swindle: He had any number of Decepticons to model one from. "We have all fought hard to free Polyhex from the grip of the Autobot threat, from the Seekers to the ground bombardment teams to the engineers repairing the defenses, even lowly munitions loaders like myself. And now you seek to stomp all over our good work just because you don't feel like seeing one of your buddies, the supposed untouchable elite warriors of all the Decepticons, putting in a little effort or risking a little to make us all feel better."

"If they have orders, Swindle, then they must follow their orders", Blackguard pointed out, hand only now going to his side after Thundercracker abruptly pulled away from the handshake. "Little can be done about that. However, I still see many other Seekers here, as well as many other warriors who I am sure are willing to put their mind to this plan. I am certainly willing to, whether as the sole available Sweep respresentative, or simply as a warrior with some free time."

Shockwave's Tower - Main Hangar

Scope marched back into the hangar bay. there was a huge crowd around the middle of the hangar. it was times like this that Scope cursed his small, unintrusive body. he transformed and hovered above the gathering. He was disappointed to see that it was merely a rabble-rousing Swindle trying to get somebody to step into a fight.

Scope sighed in disappointment and continued to hover, hoping to see something interesting. He might even gain some energon selling holo-images of the fight afterwards.

Shockwaves Tower Hanger

Skyshroud didn't know what to say, or even what to do. He was designed for stealth missions and so lacked the proper programing for social situations, which is what this was becoming.

And even though he was exited to see a sweep get his skid plate handed to him, as big as this crowd was getting he was starting to consider leaving. Seeing Skywarp and Thundercracker leave wasn't helping either.

He certainly respected Dunehopper, but he had no idea why they came here, or what he was getting them getting into.

Hanger

Firebat didn't realy care who was better, Sweeps, Seekers, whatever as long as he could offer Autobots to his true master, the with the Decepticons rely was where he belonged.

Swindle now had a hole slew of cons were gathering around him. There was no way that firebat could talk to him now, but he could wait...DarkJet

Rampage was watching the procceedings with a growing amusement. He was slightly baffled by why Blitzwing would choose to ask him what was going on; but decided to oblige the tripplechanger anyhow. "I do. ...Swindle is attempting to get a seeker and a sweep to spar with Bludgeon." though just as he had finished Swindle annouced his plans. Which did slightly annoy Rampage because he didn't like speaking unnecessarily. Still if he got to see a good fight then it would indeed be worth it.

The feline mech sincerly hoped that Thundercracker and Skywarp's decision to get out of here while they could wouldn't ruin his enjoyment.Stormshadow

Shockwave's Tower--Main Hangar Exit

Warthog leaned over in teh corner as two drones began attaching his new cluster bombs to his wing mounts. His gatling gun spun swiftly in anticipation of the spar....This was takign far too long and the old soldier was losing patience.

"Fraggin kids..." Warthog threw one of the drones behind him, listenign to it splat on the wall as he sat on top of a pile of crates, crossign his arms at the crowd, tusked face in its eternal grimace.Warthog

Main Hanger

Skywarp’s optics gave off a stronger mischievous glow as swindle gave his speech. His prankster nature definitely showed an interest but at Thundercracker’s words backed by his friendly punch the black and purple seeker came back to reality. His best friend was right, besides very few seekers were made for melee….. well save Dunehopper, that sword swinging Nightraid and a few others he couldn’t think of at that moment. Nightraid saluted him again and this time the teleporter returned the formality.

“I suppose you have a point Thundercracker. I’m positive that Megatron would not be pleased if we played with one of his new toys and broke it …”
He looked at the sweep.
“No offense to you Blackguard.”

“A drink sounds wonderful Cracker and then you can tell me about that femme you keep denying.”
He loved ribbing on the blue seeker about femmes especially since warp felt Thundercracker was kissing Rapture’s aft. He waved farewell as he followed Thundercracker out.

“Play Nice now boys.”

In the hall he spoke to Thundercracker out of auds of the others.

“With Starscream’s mess, I hope what’s going on in there doesn’t hurt the seeker reputation further. But Cracker between you and me, you know I would love to watch them fight.”

Ghost stepped aside as they passed not wanting to be in a collision with the two seekers. Ghost’s optics narrowed at Skywarp’s words, then he returned his stare to the hanger. Turning his head to face his unseen advisor he spoke quietly.

“And…. What is your opinion of this?”

Ghost was still angry at the dead mech beside him but Warp’s words made ghost realize this may turn into something more.

“Fine if you feel the need becomes dire then Ill do it, but for now we’ll just watch.”

Blitz nodded at Rampage as he answered. The predicon’s words were much simpler than that of Swindle’s bravado and Blitzwing was a simpler kind of guy.

“Thanks Rampage…….. awww look our war heroes are dipping out on us.”

Blitzwing’s voice held a hint of sacrum. It’s not that he hated seekers or sweeps for that matter but…. They were still haughty and single-minded machines both sets. It was things like that, which made the commando appreciate his special abilities.

“I’m definitely gonna stay and watch. Everyone has been curious as to weather or not these new sweeps are better than the seekers, so we’ll see right?”

Swindle kept up his indignant act for half an astrosecond as Skywarp and Thundercracker left, then turned back to his crowd, which was more than sufficient: He had Nightraid, Firebat, Dunehopper, Skyshroud and Quantum of the Seekers, as well as Rampage and his Predacons, Warthog, and Blitzwing and of course Bludgeon. Battletrap, Scope and Dead End also seemed to be interested.

"Well, anyway, we've had enough naysaying, lets get this thing underway. Bludgeon, Blackguard, I know you said you were willing to fight, is anyone else up for this sparring business? Dunehopper? Rampage? Blitzwing?"

Having finished his maintenance on his drone brotheren, Reforge was beside himself at the site of a fellow sentient sweep as he enter the hangar bay. The sole sweep cormech was even more relieved that this one wasn't among the initial hunter pack. "That psychotic group would be just as likely to to cull me as they would an Autobot... if I wasn't so slaging useful!"

"If this Sweep's saftey is a concern, I assure you I am more than capable of repairing any of Blackguard's injuries save those to his spark." The heavily armored sweep walked forward with a smug grin on his features, prevy to Swindle every word. He had no desire to compete, despite his heavy frame; he simply wasn't designed for it. Still, the others among the gathering didn't need to know that.

"If not for the need of a medic on site I wouldn't mind personally displaying our versatility in combat." He gave Blackguard a somewhat telling look. It was unlikely these cues we picked up by the seekers or the other Decepticon spectators.

Personally he'ld rather see the fellow sweep match up against the notable Triplechanger or even Blitzwing's Duocon predecessor Battletrap. Reforge was already quite familiar with a seeker's capabilities having been reformatted from one; His color scheme, and mustache the only visible traces carried over from his past.

Shockwave's Tower - enroute

Ramjet nearly followed the other seekers back to the main hangar. He wasn't getting much of a buzz from the energon overcharging, the looks he garnished from others in the commissary were less than encouraging, and there wasn't a single femme with a set of wings.

"Hey Warp; Thunder. Fill free to get a charge on my credit I always; I over credited the bartender and already got a full tank. I need to burn some excess energon but that cassetteseeker isn't taking my comms. I didn't even get a dent from that glitchin guardian either." The collision prone conehead crassly stated to the top seeker duo.

"The occasional plasma bomb runs on that sentinel and Starscream's bravado aside, I wouldn't mind following another seeker's afterburners if you know what I'm processing. Heh" Ramjet's assumed his two dimensional thoughts on Rapture would be amusing to the prankster Skywarp and his friend Thundercracker.

Once Starscream's wingmech finished there replys the red winged warrior continued on into the hangar.

Blackguard nodded at the appearance of the Sweep medic, a trusted colleague. "Your offer is welcome, Reforge. I would hope my armor would negate the need for such repairs, but these are some fine warriors, I suppose I should be careful." Blackguard was not being ironic in this: He was respectful of his fellow Decepticons and their battle prowess. The smile on his lips was more at the thought of seeing a warrior who's strength and cruelty surpassed his: Thoughts like that were inspiring to the warrior of darkness.

"In any case, having a medic around in case of accidents or overzealousness would be a good idea."

Battletrap had noticed that more and more Decepticons were arriving in the hangar, including Ramjet and a Sweep that he didn't recognise. He was no overly familiar with the Sweeps, but saw this as a chance to learn more about their capabilities. He knew that they were supposed to be hunters, and Battletrap approved of this. Do they take the time to enjoy the hunt? He wondered, do they revel in the fade of a prey's optics just as much as I? He resolved to find more out about these Sweeps later, but for now there was the pressing matter of the spar.

Battletrap pushed his way to the fore of the growing crowd and waved at Swindle. "You got yourself a volunteer right here, things are too quiet around here right now. It's almost like an Autobot party," he grinned. He didn't care that he was not very skilled in melee combat, he was bored and wanted something to do. Besides, by volunteering he was hoping that others would follow his lead.

It seemed the little scene in the Hangar had grown from just a few mechanoids into a veritable crowd. Dunehopper didn't mind in the least. Just more 'Cons who are going to get to watch me kick the slag out of the freak and the fruit! The golden Seeker slammed one fist into the open palm of his other hand, smiling with undisguised glee behind his visor.

"Don't worry, 'Warp...I'll leave something for the techs to soder back together again," he bragged, optics still fixed on Blackguard.

Truth be told, he was unconcerned with Bludgeon's fate in the whole affair. There were enough other Decepticons jumping in to keep the Metallikato master busy, and while Dunehopper did consider Bludgeon a grade-A religious nutjob, he simply didn't bear him the same enmity that he did toward the Sweeps. Bludgeon wasn't trying to steal Dunehopper's livelihood out from under him, after all. As Battletrap stepped forward, Dunehopper was pleased. Someone else to keep Bludgeon out of my way while I reformat this Sweep into a waste receptacle.

"C'mon, Rampage!" he attempted to draw another Decepticon into the proposed melee. "What's the matter, cat got your vocalizer?"

Dunehopper chuckled loudly and obnoxiously as his hilarious (to him, at least) jibe.



Shockwave's Tower - Command Center

"Insubordination is an intolerable crime against the Empire."

Shockwave allowed his statement to sink in for a moment. But, it was just that. Nothing more than a statement. The military coordinator seemed not to render any sort of value judgement on Rapture's explanation of her decision to come directly to Shockwave rather than pass the plan to Starscream to pass onto the military coordinator, as chain of command would normally dictate. This Seeker...hnn. Her perspicacity outstrips her loyalty. A not altogether objectionable trait. But even Seekers must learn to walk before they can fly.

"Analysis: you have not violated Decepticon military code by presenting your strategem to me," he continued. "Therefore, you shall remain functional...and you shall command the strike against the Tygus Span."

He turned to examine a datafeed on one of the larger wall monitors, crossing his arms. "However. I will not tolerate insubordination within my command, even against Starscream. He is the Seeker commander, and you will serve him to the best of your abilities. Know that only your immaculate service record dissuades me from taking action against you based upon your statements here. If I possessed suspicions that you would attempt to usurp Starscream's authority at potential cost to the Empire, you would no longer be functioning."

Shockwave pressed a button on one of the consoles, accessing various files and reports that pertained to the pending matter regarding Onslaught and his Combaticons.

"You are dismissed, Rapture. Gather your unit and notify me when preparations are complete."The J Writer
