Edit: Holy Poorly Optimized Videoplayer Batman! This is a nightmare to watch. I've gotten as far as Hook on top of Long Haul's Shoulders and the thing has given out completely.

So far, I am very impressed with the engineering to this toy, especially the joints. Very elegant solutions to this combiner. Too bad about the forearm kibble (the biggest disappointment to this set besides Mixmaster's "alt mode") - could have made it so that the treads of Bonecrusher and Scavenger forms Devastator's forearms like TFC's Hercules.

Ah, but THEN you'd have G1 purists and Classics collectors complaining about that not being how it was, just like Mixmaster. It's the fraggin' Kobayashi Maroon of Transformers!

I'm a classics only collector and I am all about this toy. I said before I have Maketoys green giant but I am all about this guy. I'm not someone who complains and screams "hastak is crap and doesn't give us good stuff and 3rd parties are the way to go!"
It's amazing that after 9 years were still getting G1 modernized toys because they really don't have be giving us that stuff They could be just focusing on movie and RID stuff but they're not. I'm just thankful they're doing stuff like this.

Not sure if I did the links right, this is the first time I've tried sharing anything like that here; but, here are mirrored YouTube videos I found.

exaclty its samething as leader lutra magnus legs are hollow on his back side who puts there transformers on shelf looking at there backside as someone buy combiner not to be put on shelf in combined not many people put there combiner bots on shelf in single bot forms unless its to save space.

Keep in mind, the CHUG line is supposed to draw in the more hardcore, diehard G1/G2/MW/BW/BM/RID2001/A/E/C/Ani/Prime/RID2015/DW/IDW fans. There is NO WAY Hasbro/Takara would let that big fish swim away.
About this new Mixmaster - it just seem like they could had picked a better alt mode choice. It just seem like a lazy choice on their part when a typical front ender looks like these:
It doesn't look like any of that at all. With Devastator's foot sticking out like that, it made the effort all the more lazy.

PS: Anyone else remember that guy who saw Devastator at some foreign toy fair and said we was nothing to be excited about, that he was crap, and said similar things about Defensor? I think that guy has extremely high standards. He needs a chill pill man, cause both of those guys look amazing

Actually the majority of people in China don't speak exclusively Mandarin Chinese. There are actually a lot of English speaking people there, so I don't get why an english speaking person in China can't do a review in English. Even if they don't have access to Youtube or Google.

It is quite remarkable the engineering involved. I mean look at them! Ankle tilts on all 7 bots!! The arms are not hollow! The arms even peg in in like 3 different spots! This is fantastic engineering if you ask me, and quite remarkable to watch the combination.

That really is the perfect word for it: built. Not combined to form a whole, built to form a towering structure of hate.

Having spent several years there, I have to say there is a HUGE difference between being able to tell someone where the bathroom is and being able to describe something like this, while using all the specialized language required in describing Devy. It could well be that the people who got ahold of this are third party factory workers (buddy of a buddy), which doesn't necessarily preclude the fact that they are English speakers of the caliber of us. Is all a question of accessibility. By the time someone gets an English translation done, Devy will be in the English-speaking audience's hands. I recommend patience.

No, patients are people in a doctor's office. Patience is a virtue. Stay in school.
I think I may have realized why they inverted Mixmaster. The way Devastator is built traditionally, Bonecrusher is the only limb that points upward, while Scavenger, Scrapper, and Mixmaster all point downwards. But now that they've turned Mixmaster into a barrel-forward truck, and have him mount with his cab at the knee, he points upward. And he's on the same side as Bonecrusher. It's not exactly symmetry, but it's.... well it's something. Or maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Va'al, you being an englishman, I am surprised to see you know the lingo. Do you know why Americans call signatures John Hancocks? He was one of America's founding fathers and his signature on the Declaration of Independence is by FAR the biggest. He wanted it to be big so that the King of England could see it without needing his spectacles

I tend to disagree. This Menasor is following the "proper" transformation, but if you fan-mode him he looks sooooo much better. The thighs look normal and he looks very tall. also, if you switch Deadend and Breakdown, Dead end forms a nice kneepad that hides Motormasters foot and combiner slot, improving his appearance. It also looks better to have the arms out a click. Look up the Optibotimus review, I think he did a good job of fixing him.
PS: If your Menasor is leaning forward or backward, rotate the Thigh pieces. They turn the legs in or out, but also make him lean depending on which way you turn. It really helps! My Menasor looks amazing with these "upgrades"

Actually no. Mine still has his legs facing the right way. Mine stands as follows:
1) Move legs in a click so leg bots are just touching
2)Get him to a slight lean-forward position if he won't stand up straight
3)Rotate the Motormaster legs out, like the back of MM legs are going to face front, but they only rotate a little
4)when he's straight up, it worked!
The feet on my menasor are about 15-20 degrees apart at the front, and mine stands beautifully. He is very much better than most pics give him credit for

That's all well and good, but I like my guy to give the semblence of movement, and this configuration just won't do it.
