"35 years of The Transformers has dawned upon us ans we given another exclusive Japanese character. Today we celebrate 35 years of our favorite giant shape-shifting robots and see if Soundblaster is worth adding to the collection."
For fans who don't know this character's history, in the Japanese exclusive cartoon series Transformers: Headmasters our beloved Soundwave was blasted to bits in a fatal fight to the finish with his arch enemy Blaster. Both were rebuilt into new characters, SoundBlaster and Twincast, with each toy reconfigured to hold two cassettes at one time. This Siege version follows suit by upgrading the Siege Soundwave chest cavity to hold two cassettes simultaneously. Enjoy the view and share your thoughts in the forum and as always stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

Yes. His name in that set is Shrute, but it's colored like his old Targetmaster Hairsplitter. His other Targetmaster, Singe, is due out in the final wave of Siege.

Seems weird that he's retail and not selects too but no complaints on that.
Just conjecture on my part but it's possible that Crosshairs was supposed to be a selects release but when Siege was extended for a wave, he got upgraded to main line release, the same way that Astrotrain was taken from Earthrise (which I'm thinking by them offering him again in wave 1)

I don't know how this concept still loses people? Astrotrain is not "an old steam engine". He is an alien shape-shifting robot that looks like an old steam engine. Only on a superficial, visual level. Hence how the entire Decepticon army is able to board him in both altmodes as transport.
I get that, but he doesn't turn into a giant train. You can't use poor animation and plot devices as evidence.
I mean, these aren't giant space trains and he doesn't role around on giant Earth train tracks.
By your logic of large alt modes = large robots plus what we saw in the cartoon...
...Huffer is bigger than Optimus! Or maybe Hoist is smaller than Huffer? It doesn't matter what shenanigans they pulled in the cartoon, the alt modes are still Earth sized.

I agree with this. As JelZe pointed out Astrotrain's lot number is also in line with Earthrise, not Siege. Not sure how the rest fall into that, though, since they're all new molds, but not very fitting for Earthrise.

Maybe they can do a little micromaster train station and train crossing guard.

I'd buy that!
Spinister I can't explain that mind, same with Rung

Funny how they use that scene and always conveniently forget about how devs was in there all combined

This is the whole point. All Transformations are cosmetic. "Robots in Disguise" and all that. Astrotrain based on his direct interactions with other Cybertronians IE The Movie, Should be a big bot. His Bot Mode features his Shuttle Mode kibble, so any kind of comparison to his train mode is redundant anyway. In Shuttle Mode, a Gestalt could stand without hitting a "ceiling" and nearly the entire Decepticon Army of 2005 was onboard.

He looks amazing with Springer please Primus give me a Siege styled Kup before this trilogy is over. It’s like he stepped right off the page of the UK comics. He’s still got that matching Centurion-esque helmet fin that gels so we’ll with Springer it’s perfect.
I’d love the IDW head but can’t afford the whole set - just the same I’m hella happy with this Autobot version football helmet wearing harpoon handed purple people eating walking tank.

While this makes sense, let’s be honest, we’re all reading both threads anyway. And truly, while it would be crazy busy, one War for Cybertron thread would probably do the trick - and save some page flipping.

To be honest, 'twas an oops on my part.
It's in the right thread now, though!

Also, you can totally use the half-handles to mount the guns flush with the car hood instead of sticking up 10 feet.

I like what you did to make Barricade have a Frenzy. It looks really good Though, now I want to pick up Barricade and the battlemasters needed just to have that awesome homage for the shelf... Sometimes I hate being part of a community that's so creative at finding fun ways to display figures

The Coneheads are a likely candidate. Maybe another special 3 pack?

Wouldn't the Coneheads more likely be made from the Earthrise Seeker mold instead? The Siege Tetrajet mold has no room for the Coneheads' coneheads to fit into the little space where the non-coneheaded heads fold away.-Kanrabat- wrote:emlit wrote:Anyone think the Siege tetrajet molds will be used again anytime soon - without battle damage (maybe third chapter of the trilogy *fingers crossed*)? Well, they could just go the partforming route. A cone hat that would serve as a tailfin for the vehicle mode, or something.
But most likely, some heavy remolding would be required.

Somewhere else. That is the beauty of retools.

Where else, though? Do you own the mold? The whole nose of the tetrajet is an integral component of the very structural integrity of the altmode kibble's placement in robot mode. Without the nose splitting in half and folding up to become the faux stabilizers, the altmode kibble can't securely lock into place in the robot mode.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Then where would the robot mode stabilizers come from?AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Or the front end of the Tetrajet could be retooled into a collapsible head

Eh, this.
They could also make his head split, like for ROTF Thrust.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Then simply turn the transformation around. Have the wings of the tetrajet substitute the folded nose pieces, with fake "wings" behind them for kibble. Just as Wingblade's design was just Thrust in cosplay, altering the structure of the figure is achievable while retaining cosmetic appearances. Just note the Coneheads were physically different to the standard seekers, beyond the titular aspect. Extra wings etc could easily be employed to get new results from the same mold.
The only similarities Windblade even has with Thrust is having VTOL fans on the wings, and even then their different locations and sizes, and a cockpit chest I guess but most jet Transformers have them.
Their not even the same shade of red either, she has more differences from Thrust then similarities to him
It's just a stupid comparison, lots of characters in the franchise share a few similarities but whatever it's Windblade so obviously noting counts unlike someone like Slipstream who is so original in appearance because she's simply wearing a Starscream cosplay which is much different.

I like this idea. Supported!

Given what we got with Rainmakers, I'd say a CHUG Nacelle would look like that.

He's a small Voyager yes, but Spinister and the Ironhide mold are quite big for Deluxes. Also, Apeface's bulk is concentrated in his backpack and the back of his legs.
