they couldve waited a few months. Poor show
on the plus side, now i dont feel so bad picking it up friday with no incentives since i'll buy them in few weeks when i really hit multiplayer

Snarl was my first TF and is still one of my favorites because of it. VERY excited to get to play him in the game, even as "just" a multiplayer skin...

There are only 4 multiplayer classes. Also, playing through the game will make you understand.

If that is how you want to see it. The better way to look at it is that the preorder bonuses are free with the purchase of the Insecticons and Hound. If you have the preorder bonuses already, you aren't really getting them again, you are just getting the other stuff.

A lot of companies do that. It's not new. Crummy, but not new. The first game had 3 retailer exclusive multiplayer skins, too. People were paying upwards of $60, according to completed auctions on eBay, for each one. About a month later they were included in a character/map pack with those 3, 2 or 3 more characters, and 4 maps for only $10. I thought it was awesome they released the other characters. I don't mind that the one I already had was included as it was a tough choice between Jazz and Shockwave. I feel bad for the chumps on eBay that paid those ridiculous prices, but if you can't wait then you can't wait.
I'm sure glad I get a chance to get the G2 Bruticus along with 3 insecticons and Hound. You still get 4 unique characters just like you do with the Dinobots DLC. Most likely, they'll be the same price, too.

Also, Sharpshot = Hound?
I mean, I'm glad to be getting Hound, but why is he being called Sharpshot?
In any case, I was using the Slingshock weapon today, and so I'm glad to have that already. That's one thing I'm sure of.

My only gripe are the Magnus & Blastoff colors and that you can't play as sludge in the DLC.
I would gladly pay for more G1 skins!

nopes. IIRC, Sharpshot is Shrapnel's new name.

I still want to see Arcee and Slipstream added back in. They said they took them out because of the customization. Those character's parts wouldn't work on other bots being male vs female bodytypes. I say screw it. Just make them available as full sets so people can still play as them.
I nominate Arcee, Slipstream, and Sludge to come with the first map pack DLC.
Not calling for them now, as we already have and are gettig so much, but maybe we can get some Wreckers characters in the third installment of the series.

If you dont bother with the pre-order its actually cheaper to just wait and get the DLC and you get all the extras too instead of buying them again.

Give it a couple months, I'm hoping more than 6 this time and lets see if they suddenly drop off the face of the earth. As for the skins, unless multiplayer really picks up on PC, and I get the feeling it won't, not even gonna waste my money on this.
They are owned by Activision. They were expected to stop working on it when WFC stopped getting much traffic.

Unless they add maps to escalation for these characters, don't count on it. Maps are limited to 4 characters. It is unfortunate.

Were the DLC packs from WFC not playable in both Escalation and TDM/Conquest? That would answer the question.

I believe it's one of the main plot points of the story. It should be answered in the game or the numerous interviews with Matt Teiger. I'm only on Lvl 3 of the game, but I've heard several interviews why there are robot, space dinosaurs on Cybertron.

Ya I'm on level 5 I'm just about to met up with the Dino bots. I absolutely love this game once you start to play with other characters it gets even better. Power up the path maker I think it's called the first gun you get and the scrap maker. I like that this one is a little more challenging on hard than the first one

In G1 the Dinobots were created on Earth by Wheeljack/Ratchet/Sparkplug. But in many (all?) of the comics there is a different story - especially in the more recent IDW stuff. My guess (I haven't played yet, stupid work) is that the game story takes a similar approach. I read some stuff a while back to support this, but it is "spoilery" so I won't mention it.
Posted by Sabrblade on August 22nd, 2012 @ 3:20pm CDT
Simply put, this doesn't tie to any existing Generation 1 story. It's an all new story that pays homage to G1 in design aesthetics (similar to how animated was), but eventually leads into Transformers: Prime instead. The comic story "Rage of the Dinobots" takes place after this video game and leads directly into the not-yet-released third season of the Prime cartoon, bridging the gap between this game and the cartoon.Hotrodimust wrote:And can someone tell me how this all ties in with prime and generation 1 because the Dino bots were made on earth I thought. I guess that does make sense. But it bothers me how they don't come out and say it. As someone mentioned before, there also seems to be the inability to choose any other characters per map. I guess I'm just bothered by the lack of info and the seemingly very limited choices on escalation. I'm worried what you see is what you get you know?
I guess if my quams do turn out to be true I can ave the MS points. I don't think these packs are getting any cheaper

What is it about the goofball that people don't like? Not happy.
I'm struggling to figure out how that's meant to be Magnus. I'd have guess Nemesis Prime or Motormaster. Not seeing much in the way of red, white or blue.
I long for the days when DLC was an afterthought to extend the life of a game a year or two after release, (instead of a shameless attempt to milk more money from customers) but that never really happened.

Hound is probably still hound. Sharpshot is the new name of one of the insecticons (copy right reasons). He was previously shrapnel. Bombshell has also been changed to hardshell. Kickback still retains his old name though.

when i meant "their evil ways" i meant High moon.
ofcoarse i will totally forgive them if it was activision who forced them to milk...
maybe.
but could u enlighten me on how activision surpassed the EVIL of what is Capcoms murder of the blue bomber, spam of the ingame character-DLC needed character unlocks, And oh wait...i got EA mixed up with activision right? activision spams the COD card. nevermind
i got their names mixed up. so its Capcom and activision that are evil, with EA close behind.

Marketing departments usually dictate DLC, which High Moon is subject to Activision's marketing department, and Acitivsion likes milk. A lot.
Marketing sometimes, in the conceiving of a game, literally chooses certain storyline (like say for instance in an RPG) and then decided that will be reserved for DLC later. Same with characters. Marketing will see that this, that and those are all popular with the target audience, and so they would make excellent DLC because they will be much more sought after.

What are you talking about? The 5 character pack is only $10 on PSN. Is it set up differently on XBL? If you're talking about the body parts that cost something in multiplayer then it has nothing to do with any sort of real money. You earn credits along with XP to be spent in the character creation area.
I'm on PS3. Can someone with the game on XBL explain if it's not the same there?

I've had a 360 longer than I've had the PS3 so I get that, but it sounds like he's saying each arm and each leg cost 80 MS points or something. I just don't understand what he's getting at. You should only have to buy the pack to unlock everything. Is it not like that and you have to buy each piece as a separate transaction?

you should be able to buy all the body parts as a pack. Thats the only way you can get the parts-is if you buy the whole pack(i mean the pack associated with the part(s)).
