I wouldn't be suprised if 50% of the crossovers still in existance today got their heads ripped of by customizers. This particular one would have had potential to be a stand in for Afterburner.
Agreed, At one point I even contemplated cuztomising my Only Crossovers figure, what Stopped me was it was my Only Crossovers figure, and I couldn't decide what to do with it.

I wondered what ever happened to those 2. The Combined hover-quin-jet thing looked interesting.
Did Marvel pull the plug on the line before these were released?

More Like the lack of sales did.

I assume there was some sort of licensing issue with blending the properties that way, but it's a shame. I think the toys would have sold better. (At the very least, I would have bought a lot more.)
The current Titan/Prime Master gimmick would have made this a good time to bring that idea back, too. E.g., a voyager class transforming X-Jet that comes with three or four TM-sized X-Men figures or a Quinjet that comes with a little squad of Avengers figures - those would be fun, especially if they had the holes on their feet to peg into things.

I dunno about Chromia considering how non- feminine that body looks. Was Chromia even a Tron cycle before the thrilling 30s figure? I was under the assumption that the IDW design came out a few years after crossovers got canned. Or are you referring to movie chromia as a race bike?

Caelus wrote:The Marvel and Star Wars crossovers both missed the boat by not *actually* doing crossovers with Transformers. Trying to force an X-Wing into something that looks kind of like Luke Skywalker was unnecessarily difficult, when you could more easily turn it into Jetfire, Powerglide (or even Starscream). Star Wars fans would have bought it because it turned into a Star Wars vehicle. Transformer fans would have bought it because it turned into a Transformers character.

Huh, that actually sounds cooler than Trying to make Captain America transform into a Humvee. well done.

I was referring to the people saying that pretty much all the Crossovers line is good for is customizing and that this mold would make a good Afterburner. I'm saying that it would make for a good base for a Chromia instead with the alt mode and the wheel placement in robot mode.
Also, a mold looking "non feminine" never stopped Hasbro/Funpub/Takara from making Slipstream from First Edition Starscream; Arcee from TR Blurr, Binaltech Windcharger and almost G1 Chromdome; Antagony from BW Inferno; Nautica from TR Blurr; Airazor from Energon Slugslinger; Crasher/Fracture from Classics Mirage; Burnout from Generations Skids; Roadrage from Tracks; Rosanna and Flipsides from Eject/Rewind and so on. It also never stopped customizers from making Nautica from BH Starscream; Chromia from TR Blurr; Arcee from TR Chromdome and countless other custom figures. Not to mention third party companies with Maas Toy's Rune from Skiff; MMC's Strika from Roadbuster; DX9's Crasher from Mirage and so on. Not to mention the gender swapping that was done with figures like BW basic Airazor; Energon Treadbolt; BM Hammerstrike; BM Triceradon; Universe Stockade and Cybertron Override.
Hell, I have a great many figures in my collection that I gender swapped that don't particularly look "feminine". So really, what difference does it make?

I got a crossover iron man, particularly the bike mold. According to TFwiki, this mold was cancelled and never saw release, altough the fact that i own this means that is inaccurate. I got this in loose, used condition, so i don't have any packaging and instruction sheet. Anyway, let's start the review!
Vehicle mode:
his vehicle mode is a cybertronian tricycle, with a style that resembles tron bike. Red is a dominating color here, with a lot of curvature on the body, giving him a sleek feel to it.
while it seems to lack paints at first glance, further inspection shows that it has some paint details that helps break the sea of red, like the white reactor on the front and silver details on the exhausts.
Transformation:
Transformation on this particular mold is quite simple and straightforward. In fact, by simply inspecting the pictures on this thread, you should be able to figure out how his transformation works.
Robot mode:
this robot mode is iron man, no doubt. We now see more yellow spread across his body, and really balance out the striking red. His proportion is pretty good, and i like how his exhaust now forms a jetpack on his back.
headsculpt is, well, it is an iron man head, that's for sure. This mold has no lightpiping, and relies on painted eyes. Unfortunately, my copy suffers from sloppy paint on his face. Oh well.
iron man has decent amount of articulations. This enable him to strike a fair amount of poses. Unfortunately my posing sense is on par with hasbro stock photographer at best, so this is all i can show you.
And that concludes my review. Do you feel you missed a good mold? Or do you think the existence of this mold makes no difference? Lemme know what you think, leave a comments.

It would be great if some War Machine prototypes are found and sold too so we can combine them.

They list another one after one sells instead of just having their entire stock of them listed. I bought one a few weeks ago and it should be in any day now. Let's just hope I can at least paint the faceplate better than the person who did the one you have. It shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish.

neat! How much did you get him for?
And yes, agreed on that war machine. I like how he looks, and he seem to have interesting arm transformation.

Unless bacem knows otherwise I'm pretty sure that's factory paint. Only the yellow paint is messed up, the rest is clean and doesn't show any brush strokes (a person painting a face by hand that badly would leave brush strokes in the silver parts for sure). The markings on the faces of all of these figures tell me they're test molds that were intended to be destroyed later. The messy paint is probably from testing the paint templates and calibrating the machine.

It was $39.99 with $8.00 shipping. A little more than I'd like but I made a few sales on Ebay and had some spare money.

i also believe that it is a factory paint, as the face is the only one being sloppy, and the rest is very smooth and tidy. and that explanation actually make perfect sense, considering the condition and price i got it for (loose, used, 110,000 IDR, or equal to 8.5$ shipped) which means mine is most likely test molds that got smuggled or something along that lines.
