Tonton is back at it again with a review this time for the Amazon exclusive Ironhide! The regular YouTube reviewer gives us a good look at the upcoming Ironhide figure, along with several size comparisons.

This figure is a retool of the Siege Ironhide and features a new shield/roof piece to make him into the earth mode van.

This figure can still be pre-ordered from Amazon, in a two pack with Prowl, and is expected out November 1st.

They couldn't do anything different with Ironhide's feet?

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, -Kanrabat- has let us know that another video review of the forthcoming Amazon exclusive Transformers Generations War for Cybertron Earthrise Elite Seeker two pack. The review was done by fellow Seibertron user and YouTube toy reviewer, PrimeVsPrime.

The review again confirms that the cockpits are translucent orange, and not the clear plastic we saw with the test shots.

Check out the review below:

Are you planning on getting these? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, O.Supreme has shared some interesting new stock images of the forthcoming third wave of Battlemasters for Transformers Earthrise. These images also appear on sponsor site Entertainment Earth. The images particularly contain the only new mold of wave 3, Decepticon Battlemaster Doublecrosser!

Image

Image

Image

Doublecrosser is similar to the previously released Soundbarrier and Slitherfang, in that his alt mode is a ramp connector piece, but unlike the other two, he is a four way connecting ramp! With him as part of the connection, fabs will be able to build more complex layouts of cities.

His robot mode is also memorable for having two heads.

Curiously, in the description of the wave breakdown on Entertainment Earth, it lists his name as Crossguard. Was Crossguard Doublecrosser's name before a last minute change?

The other Battlemasters in Wave 3 are repacks of Soundbarrier and Slitherfang.

What do you think of this new addition to the Decepticons? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

This guy's name is now Twinferno so that I can keep calling the other one Doublecross.

That's kind of cool that both Soundbarrier and Slitherfang will be in wave 3 as well. Will make Doublecrosser harder to get, but that will definitely be the time to troop build with ramps if there ever was one. I may just pre-order a whole case and call it a day.

Also, what is the fan consensus.... we are of course no stranger to repaints, but with TR we got 15+ Titan Masters, PotP had roughly 8 single releases (all others were exclusives), and with Siege there were 9 regular releases (based on roughly 5 molds) minus exclusives.

For Earthrise we have had only 3 New Battlemasters, and 2 re-releases from Siege. Do fans like that there are fewer smaller figures with no repaints, or would we rather have additional characters even if they are just repaints of others?

Yeah, I've gotta say that vehicle mode looks ... bad. I thought just the shoulders sticking out would be the worst of it, but those feet? Couldn't they have just made them look like the back of a van?

I guess I'll have to hope for a 3P to save the day on this one.

You guys fly to 3P at the drop of a hat.

Maybe someone will make some feet or partsform the back of the van.

A guy had done that. Designed a set for Ratchet and Ironhide that allowed the toe piece to spin 180 and fit flush to the vack of the van. Sadly, he's out of the game; it was just a garage thing for him but they are really nice. Uses the same ankle joint as the original so super easy to install

There are definitely a few visual flaws to Ironhide's van mode... The random-looking black black boxes on the sides, the lack of windows towards the back, and the hinge under the windshield (of anything that was possible, what isn't that red instead of gray?)... On top of the back looking really awkward with his feet hanging out.

Thankfully none of this matters much to me since he'll never be in his alt mode anyway.
I'm still more than happy with the look of the bot mode.
Speaking of bot modes, I've recently seen some of the CW (and maybe PotP) figures; and talk about compromised design... Characters like Hound and Smokescreen look horrible compared to these ER figures!

Well. Can you blame me?

Partsforming a solution isn't something I'm into. That's alright for the shield, but not for feet.

TBH, it almost makes me want to cancel my preorder.

It is a little annoying that the photos (at least that I've seen) have been taken from an angle that minimizes the back of the van...
I also don't think this is the best Ironhide that we'll end up seeing compared to where they are with the design of the something like the seeker mold.
But I'm holding on to my preorder... I still say the bot mode makes it worth it. In fact strictly talking bot mode, there isn't a whole lot more that can be improved here imo.
One thought I had that was a nudge to preorder was this: by the time we get a new design, is it going to be that much better anyway, and at what cost increase?

Not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but sometimes with these toys I really almost start thinking. "Huh... This doesn't make much sense... This could've been better... Why isn't it?? Oh yeah, Hastak is waitng for a couple years to release the same character again with these types of improvements at a higher cost to maintain or increase their profit margin".
This isn't to suggest I think every flaw had some easy fix...
But it almost seems that sometimes the design team is told, "Hey y'all, the work is great... Too great... Let's back it down and remember there's always the next time; let's file a couple of these fixes away for the next release in a couple years. Now, who's in for lunch at Panera?"

I don't blame you, but for myself my 'bots are displayed in robot mode so the van doesn't bother me in the slightest.

It'll be in bot mode for me too, but having a great bot mode and a so-so alt mode just robs the toy of half the fun. I want something I'm totally satisfied with. That I won't want to replace a couple of years down the line.

But I don't think they're going to make this version of Ironhide at this scale. So I may hold my nose on this one and get it. Because I have a feeling that this is it for G1 Ironhide at THIS scale.

Still. That vehicle mode. I think it's worse than the Universe mold. Sure the universe mold looks like a jigsaw puzzle, but at least it doesn't have robot feet sticking out the rear end. I'm just so disappointed in this. It's ... so almost a pass.

I totally get it... And that's part of the point I was making in my previous post... It's like when you see a seriously stupid commercial on tv and think, "Who the F thought that this was a good idea, and pushed it forward to actually paying people to make it happen?"
That's almost how I feel about those van feet... Like, that's it? That's the look the designers are happy with?? Other people in the company saw it and thought, "Yup, looks good."???
I do understand he's a large "deluxe"... But damn, figure out the alt mode and then charge $10 more for him. They want $20 for Cliffjumper, so yeah, I would pay $30 for that Ironhide, especially sans van feet.
But this is why I start to think there's f#ckery involved... It's the "well it's good enough, and there's always next time to make more money" mentality.
And sorry, it's 2020... It's really difficult to accept "reasons" why stuff like this happens.
Then I also remind myself, these are toys... On top of the choice to purchase or not.
I don't blame people for passing on figures for reasons like this. I've done it a ton myself.

Last thing I'll say is while we know this character will get made again sometime in the future, what little gimmick is it going to have that potentially compromises the design again?
In the grand scheme, a lot of the ER figures are pretty solid.

That's probably why he's an exclusive.

The thing about Ironhide's feet should have been obvious already.

Every image we've had of him has shown that A. He has the same feet as SIEGE Ironhide and B. The shield is in no way capable of covering them.
And that vehicle mode render - just look at it!

I hope so too. That's my preferred color scheme for him, but I suspect this might be Selects due to Smokescreen being standard retail, and Prowl being the exclusive. Granted, I hope this one is fake overall just due to the Smokescreen head and bumper, rather than using the Prowl version of the mold

I thought the running theory was that Bluestreak would be this year's Walgreen's exclusive?

I would also like to point out that the eBay listing these renders came from lists Bluestreak as E32, which is one of the two missing ER numbers in the exclusives so far, and that both Siege and Netflix Red Alert have the wrong heads in his/their renders, so Bluestreak could still potentially use the right head sculpt instead of Smokescreen's head.

Same... I didn't really like anything from Siege so I didn't pay attention much. Plus Ironhide's alt mode looked different enough imo that the feet at the back didn't even visually stand out that much.

I like the Universe Prowl mold for the most part, although the proportions are almost too human.
This ER version is pretty solid, but I do think Ironhide's bot mode is substantially better than the Universe one. Then with the set being $40 and not $50+, seems worth it for me.

Not sure I'm sold on that Bluestreak. I like the look, even the colors of the legs, but between Prowl and Smokescreen (assuming I end up getting him), not sure I want another Datsun bro.

Yeah, this is obviously just a recolor of the Smokescreen render, even if it is in a "new" pose than what we've seen before with Smokescreen himself. I'm confident that the final figure will use the Prowl molding, minus the light bar, of course. It will also likely use the Prowl head, but I'd be very impressed if Hasbro and Takara Tomy went the extra mile and gave Bluestreak his cartoon head sculpt to further differentiate him from Prowl. The lower legs are odd, btw. Those pieces are clear plastic, as they form the back windshield of the car mode, but they are transparent from the front and magically opaque on the sides in this render. Oops! Maybe they are meant to be "painted" light blue in those spots, but the render makes it look like solidly cast plastic. I don't think there's any reason to paint those over in blue either, as they just used clear blue plastic for Smokescreen and Prowl and colored the parts that are supposed to be opaque in the appropriate colors per their character models.

Yeps, I definitely think that any Earthrise Bluestreak would be using the Prowl mode.

Anyone think that maybe a new Goldbug figure could come from the Netflix Bumblebee? Maybe a selects release, or over in Kingdom? Is there still room in Earthrise numbers for a Goldbug? With all the awesomeness that has came out last few years, Goldbug is pretty much one of my last few wishes.

Watching PrimevsPrime's review of the Prowl & Ironhide 2 pack...
Ironhide's van mode is definitely a letdown... The flaws are pretty bad.
Looking at the bot mode, this figure is still worth it for me. I dig the simplified head sculpt.

Prowl's alt mode is fine. Kinda mehhh, but what do you want?
His bot mode is awesome. One thing I really like is that the upper body isn't as wide. The Siege version looks awkward imo because it's too bulky. And I don't miss the yellow details of the Siege version either.

This review also has me wanting ER Smokescreen... I REALLY appreciate the difference in the chest/front of the car that makes him different from Prowl. In fact, I think I can now commit to getting him.

The 5mm holes in all of these alt modes look so stupid... And having a weapon plugged into them doesn't look much better.
Just my opinion, obviously, but man it takes away from those modes.

You're right! I didn't see it before, but after comparing some screen shots of the original cartoon and the Masterpiece versions, it looks pretty obvious that Siege Prowl's head is based based on Prowl's G1 cartoon model, and Earthrise Prowl's head is based on Bluestreak's G1 cartoon model instead. I wonder how easy it would be to move Siege Prowl's head onto Earthrise Prowl? Would the joints be compatible?

I'm really hoping the ball joints are pretty much the same, cuz that's what I'm planning too. Gonna put Siege Prowl head on Earthrise Prowl, Earthrise Bluestreak will presumably actually have the Bluestreak-style head and the renders with the Smokescreen-style head will be wrong, and I'll finally be able to have all 3 Datsun Bros in CHUG on the same body with all different heads.

Why give him Smokescreen's head, when Prowl has his head? I call bs.

I scored a Doubledealer last night (but missed Sky Lynx). Doubledealer is a beefy little toy. His accessories help him 'feel' like a Leader Class toy.

I have some designs in mind for a big Decepticon city/spaceport built around Trypticon/Overlord/Sky Shadow which incorporates these Earhrise guys once I get them. I'd also like to build a "pen" for the beast mode 'cons that factors into it somehow, but I'm still working on it in my head.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, -WonkoTheSane-, has let us know that Seibertron user and YouTube toy reviewer, PrimeVsPrime, has uploaded a new video review of the forthcoming Amazon exclusive Transformers Earthrise Autobot Alliance two pack! In this set is Earth Mode Ironhide (a retool of Siege Ironhide) and Earth Mode Prowl (a retool of Earthrise Smokescreen). Now while we've previously had a review of Ironhide, this gives us a proper look at Prowl, giving him a chance to shine.

We've embedded the review below for your convenience.

What do you think of these two? Are you replacing your Siege versions or having them stand side by side? Let ys know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

Replacing the Siege versions? Nope, they'll be replacing the Universe 2.0 versions! ;)

I wasn't interested in this before the video. I have Siege Ironhide, and he was enough for me. But now I really want that Earth Rise Ironhide just so I can give him Siege Ironhide's hammer. Ironhide strikes me as a hammer and shield type.

I'm kinda cold on that Prowl is the problem. I'm not really into the head design as much as the Siege one. Also: this might sound weird, but his vehicle mode is kinda boring. Much like the Siege Prowl. To be honest, I don't even think it's that there's anything wrong with the Earth Rise Prowl, if I had missed Siege Prowl and gotten Earthrise instead, damn skippy I'd like it as much as I like the Siege one. They're equal to each other to me I guess.

Do I need it? No. Am I going to get it? Yes, but only so I can have that Ironhide. Damn these two-packs.

I cannot wait for my set to come in the mail! I pre-ordered as soon as they went live! I'm happy I at least managed to pre-order this set, but upset I missed out on Soundwave set. Again... Wal-Mart exclusives let me down. No Soundwave set, no Gigawatt. :'(

I think Siege Prowl's car mode is pretty cool, and in some ways better than the ER car. But I definitely like the ER both mode better.
I didn't buy much of anything from the Siege line, but it would've been nice if there would've been some sort of heads-up as to which characters would be released in both lines.
Personally I'd be pretty unhappy if I had bought Siege versions but liked the ER ones better.

I'm looking forward to this as well...
And don't give up hope on Soundwave yet, but there's a chance you may have to check out a couple stores to find him. I mean, keep an online eye out, but I won't be surprised if I end up getting him at the nearby Walmart. If I see the Netflix Bumblebee, I'll probably get him too.

*Looks at seeker trio, Datsuns, Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, 2 Megatrons, Soundwave, 2 Ultra Magnuses*
... Eh.

Some of these bother me more than others. I definitely feel like they did too many redecoes of the leaders, and I never would have gotten Bluestreak, Smokescreen, and Ironhide if I'd known slightly modified earth modes were coming. But Prowl and Ratchet have different visual designs that match their IDW2 comics and Siege versions, and even if they're not perfect, I like having a bunch of Tetrajets opposite the female Autobots. While I'll probably unload a few of the duplicates, most will have a permanent place in my collection as characters from other media while my ER lineup will be the definitive classic G1 collection.

I really want an earth mode Magnus, and though it might be in SS instead of ER, I'm guessing it'll happen. I don't regret the Netflix variant, but I never should have gotten the regular Siege one.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much yet, I'm sure the Soundwave set will make it's way to stores in the next couple months, just like Megs and Hotlink.

As for the two-pack, I don't really care about Ironhide. I have the Siege version and I really like him, and this version doesn't have a great alt mode. Prowl isn't perfect either, his doors could use "highway patrol" on them, his pelvis could use a little paint detailing to break up all the solid black, and he has Bluestreak's headsculpt. But the more I look at Prowl, the more I like him. His deco is otherwise very nice, I especially like the black detailing around the windows in alt mode. I don't have a Prowl in my collection, so I might get this set just for the Prowl (before the secondary market prices skyrocket, as Amazon exclusives tend to do).

Why give him Smokescreen's head, when Prowl has his head? I call bs.

I still think if :TAKARATOMY: / :HASBRO: were smartER they would use CW Club Subcription Bluestreak's colors for this mold. I would so throw my money for that...'nuff said! :VEHI:

Dude, that's a good call. I don't think these ER figures are the best there will ever be, but taking in consideration both the past and what's been recently available, they're really pretty good, at least in terms of appearance.
I have one opened figure from the Siege line, so I can't really speak to transformation enjoyment, overall QC, etc., because I have very little personal frame of reference.
So maybe there are issues that will make it easy for some to pass on a lot of these ER figures.

But if you don't have a Prowl in your collection, I'd go for the 2 pack. Even though you like your Siege Ironhide, the ER version's bot mode is pretty on point. Not sure how you display your collection, but maybe have the Siege IH in alt mode since it's relatively unique, and have the ER IH in bot mode.

These are already overpriced imo. All of them. Yeah Ironhide's a large deluxe, so I'll call that a win.
But when all the other deluxes are $20+, assuming you already have your favorite character(s) it will sting quite a bit to have to buy any later on when getting them for original release price is either a hassle or just not likely. Wait for a sale and who knows if you'll get what you want.
I buy what I really like, but I can't imagine paying anywhere close to $30+ for one of these deluxes.
The average price for Siege Skywarp on the 'bay is $70 (& in most cases that's not including the shipping cost you're covering).

When Amazon runs dry, I'm betting the price for Prowl & Ironhide is $65-$80.
I'd bite now.
Oh, and don't forget you'll have until November to cancel if you change your mind.

Today online I saw that a Walmart 7 miles from where I work had Airwave as being in stock and with a tag saying "pick up today." I excitedly went over there to find none on the shelves, but they had a bunch of pallets on the floor loaded with toy boxes ready for pack out.
I asked a guy that had an assistant manager tag on if someone could help me get the figure and showed him the webpage that showed in stock. The guy looked at me like he didn't want to be bothered and said, "see all these pallets? We're just unloading the truck. I don't know if it'll be here today or tomorrow, but if you check back tomorrow you'll probably find it, so thats why it says that."
If I really wanted to be a jerk, I would have asked for the store manager and demanded not to leave without the toy. But I took the high road and I'll check back tomorrow.
The service at these retailers is getting worse and worse though. Don't have it in your website that the figure can be picked up today and then have some wise guy tell you to come back tomorrow.
