TonTon shows off the conversion of Rampage from bulldozer to unipedal robot and back, as well as how to transform Rampage into Devastator's right leg. Rampage comes with a four-point black plastic stand to help him stay upright in robot mode. TonTon also provides size comparisons to various other figures in the Studio Series and other Transformers lines in both vehicle and robot modes. The review is narrated in English via computer voice. Take a look for yourself below!

I don't buy that too much. They could have had a locking elbow or something.Sabrblade wrote:More stability for leg mode?D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I'm disappointed they didn't work in elbows for him. He literally has everything else, why not elbows man???

considering how simple this guy ends up being in comparison, there really shouldn't be a reason that a standalone voyager like this should be without elbowsSabrblade wrote:Budgetary limits for the whole combiner, then?D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I don't buy that too much. Funny how that always happens with Hasbro's Devastators.

Also taking these pictures shows off what we really need from Studio Series to fill out the ranks from the movies.
Notably missing for me Autobot wise is a Deluxe Leadfoot and Dino, as well as some good Arcee triplets, a Voyager Slug, mini figures of Brains and Wheelie coming with another figure, and kinda a want but not need would be WWII Hot Rod. Decepticon wise, the new updated Devastator coming will be a hugely welcomed addition, as will the Bonecrusher and Shatter figures; missing still but welcome would be a TLK Leader Infernocus, good voyager Sentinel Prime (I just traded mine, wasn't good and I do despise that character for his role in the movie, but still), and some toys of the Con crew from TLK like Onslaught (from Long Haul) and Mohawk.
Just want to ask a few questions if you don't mind:
1) What's the model of the Sideswipe in front of Night Leader Optimus Prime?
2) Is that Voyager Class TLK Megatron in the 3rd picture?(in the middle)
3) Is it Studio Series Blackout at the back in the 3rd picture?
4) What's the model of ROTF Starscream next to The Fallen (also 3rd picture)?
5) Is that the Voyager Starscream from the first movie behind Galvatron (also in 3rd picture)?
I plan to buy some of the figures mentioned and I'm using your pictures as reference for height comparison because I want my figures to scale well among each other, so I'm asking these questions to clarify the models of these figures. Btw that is one awesome collection , keep it up! (I spotted figures from Transformers Animated in the 3rd picture )

I see you're also a big Cussler fan.
Considering their size and if they would go with the concept stage ability to combine, I feel maybe a Voyager pricepoint with the 3 sisters would probably suffice. the ability to combine would be awesome but is not essential to me.
And hell yeah Cussler!
I dunno. They'd have to be Legends/Legion sized bikes to scale well correctly in vehicle mode (picture a human sitting on one of them who could fit through the door of a SS car figure if the doors opened). I'd really like a much smaller version of 2007 Arcee cos she's one of my fave figures ever but way too big for Studio (and kinda too big even for MPM in vehicle mode). But that's probably never gonna happen and now I wish I hadn't sold that Legion class TFP Arcee I could probably hacked and painted into an approximation of 2007 Arcee (though it was 7 years ago i sold that tiny figure so i couldn't have known)
That reveal pic of MPM 2007 Megatron has me wondering if they'll use any of it's design and engineering for a Studio figure.

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make, but I’m pretty sure you’re grasping at straws
An effective transformation is all that matters, the legion class figure came out much later and used a much more elegant transformation, this simply takes something that worked well and improves on it

Sounds bit like how they made SS Starscream by taking the deluxe DotM toy which was far more elegant than previous voyager attempts, making it bigger and adding more detail and stuff. But ok a legion figure tends to be more simple than a deluxe. But if it works well then why not i suppose.

I think it would have been cool to have his jack hammer part be on ball joints to mimic the organic movements he made in the movie, but that might affect his solidity for the leg mode; I imagine that, beyond being big, devs is gonna be really heavy...

Yeah, I honestly wouldn't mind a non-combining Rampage from somebody with better cleanup and full articulation. He was a damn cool design, I'd love to see him appear in something new.

Yeah his not having elbows kinda sucks again, but unlike cw devs, this one probably actually needs the structural integrity, this devs is gonna be massive and really top heavy

Plus, the rotation joint for the leg mode transformation doesn't exactly allow for an elbow joint to be there.
From what I can tell, it was either elbow joint or correct leg mode, and they went with the latter.

Cogman is soon to be in Studio Series as a redeco of his TLK toy but the Titan Master looks kinda small next to Bumblebee. Camaro Bee is 16 foot tall according to 2007 scale charts. April O'Neil here looks closer to correct height but I can't see how she'd fit in his car mode at all.
Does anyone have the Bee figure with the add-on parts and Charlie mini-figure? How tall is tthe Charlie?

They have weird locking detents that allow him to move his knee at 45 degrees at a time and if I recall his knees are sorta loose when not locked, I got the original and it sucks for it, can't pose him at all; a point that got super glossed over since he was so difficult to find

Hm I haven't had much trouble posing mine (apart from lack of ankle tilts). I quite like how the knees 'lock' when legs are straight. Mine aren't too loose either. So yeah I think I get what you mean but I haven't had any troubles with it. Oddly I only still have the figure now cos I sold it on eBay a week and half ago and the buyer still hasn't paid. I was selling it cos I'm gonna get the Studio Series version for it's silver paint job and official Studio Series status (and backdrop card).

The problem is that the each figure's robot mode and vehicle mode are not really in scale with one another. April O'Neil may be the right height for Bumblebee in robot mode, but the smaller Cogman Titan Master is about right for Bumblebee's Camaro mode. The aim of the Studio Series line is to get all the individual robot modes in scale with one another (more or less) and the scale of the vehicles is more a consequence of how to fit each individual robot inside a car, truck, plane, or whatever.

Yeah, which be why I took the shot with Bee in robot mode and was asking if anyone has the Charlie figurine and how tall it is (so basically Hasbro's idea of how tall humans are in Studio scale). If anyone has Charlie AND a Mega Bloks/Construx figure like April here could they take pics of them both with Bee in robot mode? If any of them happen to scale well with the cars that's a bonus but yeah robot mode is priority for display.

"Scrapmetal" looks neat, and is one of the more interesting to me since he didn't get a full toy before.
But the Constructicons I'm most interested in seeing period are Scavenger, Overload, and Mixmaster, to see how successfully they reconcile those.

In ROTF, when we see the Decepticons on the ship, one of them is a yellow excavator that inexplicably ends up transforming into a robot mode identical to that of Scrapper, despite having a very different altmode from the Scrapper(s) we see later in the movie during the battle in the desert. This Scrapper lookalike is the one referred to by Scalpel as "ze little one" who gets killed by the other Constructicons so that his parts may be used for Megatron's resurrection.Nathaniel Prime wrote:I knew this guy was a concept Decepticon, but I didn't really remember him in the movie. Always thought it was Scrapper that gets mauled . Although, he was in TLK, in the junkyard right before Megatron attacks. Think he was behind Hound or something, but he was definitely in there. Anyway, really like how these Constructicons are shaping up, can't wait for more reveals!
Concept art for a completely different Construction from Scrapper altogether was later added to Scrapmetal's TFwiki page, as part of its Notes section, since it was the closest thing to (semi-)official art of what Scrapmetal's proper robot mode might look like. Eventually, on July 31, 2017, a user with a history of questionable edits moved this pic to the top of said article as its mainpic. No one caught this curious edit, and it has been postulated that this edit resulted in Hasbro looking up Scrapmetal on TFWiki, seeing that art at the top of the page, and using it as the basis for the robot mode design of this new Studio Series Scrapmetal toy.
Meanwhile, the Scrapper/Scrapmetal lookalike seen in the junkyard in TLK was an Autobot refugee hiding out there with the others, and has been given the semi-official name of "Trench" by the company who made his altmode, Catepillar, Inc.
