Compared to...
It is indeed a big improvement, but I'm not crazy about the wings hanging off his shoulders that way. It isn't really something I would buy anyway, but I do look forward to the final product.

Okay, a K-2SO Transformer, I would buy. Something feels a lot more natural about featuring robots in these Transformer crossover lines, and I like K-2SO's character and design so I'd probably be pretty tempted - assuming the figure's half-decent of course (which given Star Wars Transformers' track record prior to this revival, might be a bit of a toss-up).

Lets wait for this one, if it's takara this time, there's probably hope.

It was Takara before too. Takara always handles the engineering. Hasbro only deals with the design of the two modes. Also Takara's own designs arent always good. Like all those Go Combiners and Beast Wars Neo Shellformers.
Kurona wrote:At that price point and the level of detail I'm seeing here, it's looking like MP level to me.
Thats just the standard Legends Voyager price point, its the same as Broadside's MSRP: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1
Dont expect any MP level out of this.

Second, I admit the Cross-overs were hit and miss. 99% of the vehicle modes looked good, then they kinda fell apart in their alt modes. Once they transformed it was 1 out of 3 that looked good and worked well.
That being said... I think some of us adults get a little too uppity about such things. These are TOYS! The original idea of Transformers was to have two toys in one... That's what the Cross-overs are all about...even the Marvel ones. Some pulled it off better than others, but in the end they are toys to be played with.
Funny thing is, the Star Wars Cross-overs always reminded me of Spaceballs...they did it first lol. In the end, they don't have to make sense, they should shoot for cool designs and they should be fun. That's my two cents...

Instead of the TIE X1 turning into a Darth Vader Robot why not...
TIE X1 - Megatron
TIE Fighter - Starscream, Thundercracker & Skywarp
TIE Interceptor - Dirge, Thrust & Ramjet
TIE Bomber - Blitzwing
Imperial Shuttle - Astrotrain
etc...

Are you sure of this ? I think I remember to have read they've been made by the same as titanium series, a sub-owned Hasbro company, not Takara.

I looked it up and turns out I have 0 evidence backing up my statement. I was assuming things but it turns out there is no word out there on Takara ever worked on Star Wars so saying that this new one is the first might be right on the nose
But I wont take back my opinion on the Go Combiners

I'm not sticking up for transformers Star Wars crossover they sucked even marvel crossover sucked worse than star wars but transformers toys are not perfect them shelves there are transformers toys that parts hanging off them and giving them big backpack I only bought one star wars crossover figure that's Death Star this series bot modes suck but vehicale modes are bettter

This new line from Takara features famous star wars vehicles that transform to Star Wars figures! The first figure is Tie Advanced X1, a prototype version of the tie fighter that transforms into Darth Vader! Includes 5 mini stormtrooper figures, and presumed to include a mini darth vader figure as well as a lightsaber.

This new TIE Advanced Vader looks really good, and a lot better than the old one!Would love to see how it transforms, but I hope we get more figures from the line (not just from the OT, but also from the prequels and the Disney trilogy). Oh, and release them to other countries!

I'll pass. Seeing as how I WAS a Star Wars fan back in the day, with Disney in charge..
Nah..
I think I am happier with Bayformers. At least there you know what you're getting. In the New Star Wars Disney franchise.. it's all rehashed BS and fan fiction masquerading as a film franchise continuation. I'd rather not go down that road.
It's a great toyline for the kiddies..
A great testament to the original series is that Hasbro and Takara are only doing the most beloved and recognizable versions.. Seems Like Kylo Freak and his cadre of wannabee Imperials are not as popular as old Anakin is..LMAO!
The original Star Wars is still king, reboots (pretenders) are out!

Much like the Star Wars constraction sets from Lego; if you're going to make a line with robot-like designs, it only stands to reason that robotic (or armored - see the Fetts, troopers, and often Vader himself) characters will look infinitely better than weirdly human ones.

1) It looks pretty cool. Final judgment once stock photos are presented.
2) Being a die hard Star Wars and Transformers fan I have to say I'm a tad disturbed with a handful of the comments...Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions. Yes, those opinions can and may differ...that being said, some of y'all need to chill out.
How bout we take the emotion and hating from 11 down to like 3?!? I love my collections, I love my toys.... I'll say that again, I love my TOYS. Toys are the heart of all this...us older collectors may enjoy these for nostalgia's sake, but in the end these are toys for children...Toys that will create memories and fun just like our first toys did.
So all you Atomic Bombs of negativity out there...tone it down.

You're not a moderator so ... no. People are allowed to express their opinions, as long as they're within the forum rules.
And I've yet to see any posts in this thread that go against the forum rules.
You're okay with these? Hey that's cool, personally, they've missed the point of "Star Wars Transformers" again. The majority of the first go round sucked because they slapped humanoid heads on robot bodies and it looked incredibly out of place.
I, and I have no doubt many others would agree with me, would prefer to see Star Wars vehicles transforming into Transformer characters. They could have little pilots/drivers that are SW characters, heck, we just had an entire line of tiny robots that transform into heads for bigger robots, that could be followed to!
But no, Star Wars is its own behemoth making other lines its *****. That's why I fully expect this second iteration to suck.

Kurona wrote:So am I the only one who actually likes the concept of the vehicles turning into mechs of Star Wars characters? Don't get me wrong, a Star Destroyer Megatron or an X-Wing Anode would be awesome, but I also really like the idea of this weird alternate universe where the Rebels and the Empire fight each other with giant mech suits. It kind of helps that the first one being made is Vader, since, well, like Kenobi said -- he's more machine than man. His suit's edifice on a giant robot makes sense.
Well when I did collect the original releases back in the day, I imagined that Cybertron was dormant from the war, and that somehow a human broadcast of Star Wars the original trilogy was received by Cybertron, maybe by a wormhole, and thus Vector Sigma instituted a reboot of the planet using the characters from the movies, which the new Transformers bodies were forged from, kinda like Teletran searching for objects to repair Megs and co. from in the original 3 part pilot of G-1.
so Vader was a reboot of Megatron's form complete with mental engrams of the movie giving him a different personality, and so on..

From what I hear, this whole Repetitive-ness in the newest trilogy, was actually George Lucas' plan.
