Thanks to our very own Burn, we have some great news for Australian fans! He's discovered that latest Masterpiece figure, MP-51 Arcee, will be exclusive to the EB Games and Zing stores on that continent. EB Games did have a listing earlier, but it's since been taken down. Hopefully, both sites will have preorders available soon, so Transformers fans from down under can have the opportunity to order the second female Masterpiece figure.

I dunno, I think the three-ring binder she has been trying to hide under her shirt is going to give her even more problems down under:

:???: I'm puzzled. I thought I already noted the pre-order for Arcee? Although I maybe confusing it with the WFC figure.

Regardless:

£129.99 - InDemand Toys

10% Option is available. Release date given as December 2020. As yet no mention from Kapow Toys. Which means the pre-order will likely drop later this evening or tomorrow.

Well, that sagging chest is even more distracting and unappealing than the "cancerous growth" backpack.

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath and site advertiser BBTS, we now have even more pictures of the highly anticipated Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee figure from Takara Tomy and Hasbro. The new pictures feature her included accessories such as her blaster, rifle, tire shredder, different faces, energy blasts, and more. In addition, these pics show some of the detail and love that went into this figure, including a fully detailed car interior and more. Check out all of the pictures below and then pre-order MP-51 Arcee from BBTS. This figure is currently listed for $149.99 with a release date of December 2020. Without further ado, check out the pics below. After you've viewed the pics, make sure to stop by our forums to share your thoughts about MP-51 Arcee in our dedicated topic.

BigBadToyStore.com wrote:Product Description
In the Transformers Masterpiece series, Arcee, a female-type cybertron member appearing in "Transformers: Animated Movie" and also being active in subsequent anime and movies, is finally here!

MP-51 Arcee thoroughly brings out the styling of Arcee that appeared in "Transformers: Animated Movie". In robot mode, the backpack is made as compact as possible to reproduce the attractive styling of Arcee in the animation. Arcee in vehicle mode shows off a futuristic car type vehicle with a beautiful curved line.

Please Note: Product is in an additional Hasbro-branded sleeve over the Takara packaging. Package image coming soon.

She's not perfect but I think she looks awesome. Yeah, the proportions are weird in certain areas and the backpack looks messy from a lot of angles, but they clearly put a lot of thought and design work into this. My only surprise is there's no Daniel figure or stand. It remains to be seen if she can actually stand without one because of those tiny feet. But I'll find a solution. Excited to add her to my collection.

I wasn't so sure about Bumblebee 2.0 but I ended up really liking him. So I'm sure Arcee will be great.

One thing this highlights is the odd proportions of MP Hot Rod. I'm not in a rush for another one, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're planning it.

Add to the list of reasons to pass: they gave her the face of a blow-up doll. :BANG_HEAD:

I was thinking the same thing. The chest on Hot Rod is really bad and the fact that he has the two red pieces behind his shoulders that break up the yellow spoiler is also really bad. That mold drives me crazy, and not in a good way. Arcee, while not perfect, is a step in the right direction from flat torso Hot Rod.

While a new - gimmick-free - MP Rodimus Prime would be the ideal, I wonder who would be most likely as the next of the MP Movie characters? Kup? Springer? Blurr? ...Wheelie?

Looks nice but oof, $150 again. Not a fan of this current trend of MP’s going for double what they used to be. Still holding out hope for a sale on Hound, he’s one I’ve been wanting even before he was announced.

Yes, I'd rather have any of the other 1986 main movie cast other than another Hot Rod. They had 2 shots at him ... time for someone else!

Indeed. The only G1 Masterpiece I actually want. But realistically, Takara's bias towards Autobots pushes him down the list. As previously noted, MP-36 was the last New Decepticon in this line. 2-3 years ago and it doesn't look like HasTak are in any rush for the next one. :(

I'm not gonna be buying it, but I'm still gonna complain/opinionate about it.

Some of these pictures make her look really good. I mean it's obvious her entire alt-mode is on her back, she's gonna be a shellformer for sure. The robot mode looks fine, but the sight of her butt and thighs hanging out the rear bottom of her car mode makes me think that she transforms pretty much like Generations Arcee, except with more backpack origami. However: those additional faces almost all look the same. They couldn't include one with the red visor?

The red visor comes down from the top of the head so it'll cover the eyes on whatever face plate you're using...not that I see much difference.

Is she perfect? Absolutely not. Am I psyched about this figure? Yes, very, very much. And infinitely more positive about this than, say, another iteration of G1 Optimus Prime or more versions of Starscream/Skywarp/Acid Storm etc.

It's not the best-of-all-possible worlds Arcee, but it's proportionately priced and a hell of a long way from being a crime against nature and the vehicle mode is actually better than ANY third party version. And the transformation looks (but probably isn't) elegantly simple. And kibble-free. No-one at all thinking that's a good thing?

And this will be tweaked endlessly, and sooner or later, the chest section and the face will be sorted. There will be a Paradron Medic TT Mall Exclusive repaint within six months and probably a Head or Targetmaster version within 12.

So, I say: Yay. But cautiously.

Maybe an upgrade set can sort the chest out but at her price she should be perfect from the get go, maybe even a bit more complex and maybe give the option of some front headlights from rotating panels or something to make her on a similar level to sunstreaker.

It's not just the front of her chest but the sides of her entire torso too that need to be higher.

The chest is a little low, but it's not egregious.

I'm on the fence. I'm getting only SELECT Masterpiece figures from here on out, not allowing scope creep to take over as it did my first time out and the movie characters are definitely an easy subset of guys to collect. However, Arcee is very expensive and I would like to see another G1 Decepticon get made - Galvatron is overdue. Cyclonus and Scourge should be a lay down for these guys what with the 3P options that have nailed them in the past. Not to be bringing up 3P, but I'm just saying there's precedent for those characters Takara could certainly use in it's own R and D.

Where some attribute a conspiracy to mske only Autobots, I see a delay due to commercial pressures. Beast Wars Masterpiece figures have evidently gone over well, and so the G1 stuff is getting spread out much further.

Anyway, she'll be out closer to Christmas, so I'm going to play the wait and see game, but I actually like the figure.
Re: Transformers MP-51 Arcee Australian Release Confirmed (2064594)
Posted by ZeroWolf on May 15th, 2020 @ 3:34pm CDT
I wouldn't argue conspiracy when it's a well known fact that good guys go down better in Japan, a look at all the other lines in Japan bare this out (not talking transformers just other toy lines in general). Also if you reduced the collar section of the toy the chest would look better. I think that's the culprit here as none of the model sheets show a collar to that size. It's very strange that it would happen when Takara are normally sticklers to detail.

To be perfectly hones, despite ragging about her chest and backpack, that MP Arcee is kinda growing on me.
I won't preorder though. I'll wait for the video reviews and in-hands impressions to make sure she's not a ticking time bomb with potential exploding parts.

Or the universe 2.0 box art expressions ;) Also, it may be very slow of me but I've just realised what the actual changes are with the Arcee faces. A bigger mouth and a slight change in eye shape.

Well I've already pre-ordered her for a friend. Technically a Christmas present, but I am dubious about how vague the release date is. Weird that she doesn't come with Daniel but I suppose that will always leave room for a minor Headmaster retool possibility for the mold. After they have milked the mold several times over, for the other G1 Fembots, of course.

Honestly, I laughed my ass off when I first saw those at first. Then I thought about how it's kinda actually cool to see a robot who want to be human so it's changing it's parts one by one with organic parts. Then the bot become a cyborg. And finally it achieve it's dream to become a 100% flesh human being who finally have mortality.

….

Did I just turn something disturbing into something wholesome?

Once you've seen it, you can't unsee it!

@Krana yes you did, though I'm suprised that no one has done that idea yet, though I can see for practicality, three figures being possible, a 100% robot, a cyborg and 100% flesh and blood. They certainly wouldn't need to go to the extreme as THOSE add on parts.

Of course, this is where you tell me Japan has something like that already and I wouldn't be surprised.

Somewhat, it's already been done in Transformers with the Pretenders in G1. Especially in Master Force. Gotta love that mass-shifting!

Make me wish for a Pretender Arcee.

While looking for a picture of humanized G1 Arcee, I found this:

Considering I regularly source rare and/hard to find Transformers, that is the most overpriced basic action figure I've seen to date.

Correction: 'Human' Rodimus was even more

Arcee - $180

Rodimus - $220

I have...mixed feelings on this figure. The car mode is sublime, and parts of the robot mode look good too. The facesculpt is pretty nice, the articulation looks top shelf, and it certainly does look like Arcee.

BUT.

The faces all look exactly the same, the backpack is an eyesore, the chest is a bit...droopy, and the price is pretty YIKESworthy. Also the transformation will probably be undiluted pain, especially with recent MP QC. If this were the only MP-scaled Arcee on the market I'd be down for it, but when MMC's Azalea exists, which has a not-completely-horrible transformation, awesome robot mode and almost no kibble with the only sacrifice being a less accurate car mode...Yeah, this is kiiiiinda hard to justify.

We thank Rodimus Knight for informing us that Transformers Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee is now available on Amazon Japan. For most fans, this is usually the cheapest and fastest way to get Takara toys. In this instance, she would only set you back $106 USD for international retailers, since they don't have to pay taxes. You may get import fees depending on where you are, like in Canada, Israel or the UK (the example shown below is being shipped to Canada). There should be no import fees for the US though. The shipping price is around $14 USD and it tends to be the quickest international shipping possible.

Of course, regardless of the price being lower here, the question of whether or not a collector wants this Arcee remains the big one. So let us know!
