Hehe, yep. It looks kinda like an evil robot jack-o-lantern. I can see an easy repaint into FoC 'Dead End' in Prime Dead End's colors working for this. That would be kinda cool and creepy :).

so why are these $15 when theyre not bigger or more complicated or have more detail than TFPrime figures? How does hasbro justify the price increase for these guys? Im sorry but im not paying $17(including tax) for a deluxe no matter what its from or who it is. Is this what we get for being loyal to hasbro all these years, smaller figures and outrageous prices? Its one thing to make figures smaller but keep the damn price & quality the same. Alot of people arent willing to pay or cant pay $13 for a prime deluxe what makes them think they'll pay $15 for a generations when theres nothing special about them. The last wave of generations werent even $15 they were $13 and they were bigger & of better quality than DOTM, TFPRIME, this wave of generations and they came out when the economy was shit just like it is now. Sorry about the rant but what hasbros doing is uncalled for and just not fair to consumers especially those who are falling on hard times.

Well with the FOC, and new Prime waves hitting shelves, this is going to be a Toy hunting Summer for sure.

FOC hasn't hit my area just yet, but thanks for posting the DPCI number. I will keep checking regularly.

Pretty sure it has to do with the economy. Shit's getting pricey for Hasbro too I'm sure. Cuts have to be made somewhere.

Thats just the world we live in, Chinese workers wanting decent wages, rising costs of plastics and transportation costs. Toys are going to keep costing more, just like everything else. As long as the quality of the product doesn't go down as the price continues to go up I don't have a problem with it. I work for a company that imports products from China, and for the first time in 40 years, we might be switching over to some products made in the US. The gap in production costs between China and US factories is getting smaller. These costs are just getting past along to the consumer, it doesn't necessarily mean Hasbro is being greedy or trying to screw us.

Folks, I think it helps (somewhat) to look at things this way: it's inflation at work, simple as that. I bought a G1 Mirage with box on eBay recently, and the price tag that was still on the box said $7.99. If you adjust for inflation, it would cost roughly $17 today. Mirage and the rest of the Autobot cars are quite noticeably smaller than even the DOTM Deluxes, which most people noted were smaller than ROTF and TFTM deluxes. They're almost Scout Class sized.

Granted, G1 Transformers had die-cast parts and rubber tires, and the newer deluxesa re made with cheaper materials, but even taking that into consideration, G1 Deluxes are still priced above what the new crop of FOC and Prime Deluxes are, and they were smaller to boot. Frankly, deluxes have gotten bigger since G1 and are just now returning to a bit larger their original sizes. Not to mention that the range of articulation and detail was severely limited in G1.

P.S. I don't count G1 Whirl and Roadbuster as Deluxes, even though they were "Deluxe Autobots", because they were closer to what I'd call Voyager size of G1.

Exactly. For the younger fans out there who may not have been around before the movies, the Deluxe price point has/had been $9.99 since Beast Wars. That's 15 years without the actual cost being affected by inflation. While I'll agree that the figures themselves have gone down in both size and quality of material it was inevitable that the price was going to go up, the question was a matter of when.

It sucks for dudes who are priced out because of this but I assure you it isn't a problem unique to the Transformers brand. Prices have been skyrocketing over the past few years.

3 3/4 Joes are $9.99 and up. Marvel Legends are $19.99. 3 3/4 Avengers are $8-9. And on and on.

It stinks, but why do you think Legends and Bot Shots are over performing like they are? Times are tough all over.

I would rather pay 14.99 rather than paying 30-60 for just one figure on ebay. It's also a shame that when I checked the link provide, every Target near me is listed as out of stock. Oh well, just have to be patient I guess.

Yeah, I find myself getting more Legends/Cyberverse figures and Bot Shots more than deluxes and voyagers. They're nice and just don't hit the wallet as hard. Still, I'll have no problem getting some of these FoC deluxes when I find them.

All I have to say is, Thank you Counterpunch!!! With the DPCI I was able to track down the only Target that had a case in my town, turned out it was the store near my house. The employees were nice enough to not only open the box but also give me Optimus, Jazz and Shockwave. Jazz is a little hard to pose because he's top heavy with tiny legs. Optimus is really simple to transform but overall OK. And Shockwave is pretty cool for being a small deluxe class. Again, thank you Counterpunch.

And how would one use the DPCI to track things? Just waltz into the store and ask them if they have the product with that number or something?

go to one of those price checking machines around the store, type in the numbers then press "enter" and it'll say what they are, how much they are, and if they do or do not have them in the stockroom.

it's super sad that these things are $15.. i'd still like to see size comparisons with these and the WFC figures. something tells me that after i see that, i'll be even more sad.

but the economy right now is so bad, that it's even more difficult to swallow the price of something that costs more, but is a smaller product.

if they're going to raise the price.. keep the toy the same size, if you're going to shrink the toy, shrink the price too.

plus, i'm pretty sure that toys today are a hell of a lot easier to make than they were way back when.

I don't much like Wal-mart. But I have to say, compared to Target, they've done a decent job keeping prices as low as possible. I just hope they can do the same with the generations line. Every Target I've been to has raised the Prime line to $15. But the Wal-marts still have them at $13. Not liking Target nowadays.

I wonder, do these have their own physical location or do they share peg space with Prime? If it is the latter I've been noticing (at least in my area) that Targets haven't done their hard Summer resets yet. It is indeed a matter of time! None of the Targets around me are showing stock yet either.

It would be a crime to spend an extra 2 bucks on something we love, wouldnt it ? Im sure they will all end up in TJ Maxx and Ross for those who dont think they are worth full price. I see it like this...The mere existance of TF Prime is saving me hundreds of dollars. I havent been to a toy section of a store in months.

The way I see it, they're striking a middle ground. For $10, you can get a Cyberverse Commander where you used to be able to get a deluxe. To get a Deluxe at the size we're used to would cost probably $18-20. (Honestly I think it's a miracle Target and Wal Mart give us VOYAGERS at that price still) So to keep from charging an exorbitant amount, they raise the price SOME and shrink the figure SOME to get a $15 figure. It ain't pretty, but $15 ain't what it used to be, either. Time marches on, the value of the dollar shrinks, and the price of goods and services rises. Not much to do but suck it up or stop buying.

Agreed and disagreed. The mere existence of TF Prime saved 'me' money, and cost 'me' money (depends on how you see it). I haven't been to toy aisles for over 3 months. I have never been this disappointed in a TF line since animated. On the other hand, I've been online a lot lately completing my Masterpiece and Binaltech collections. Man, they're expensive. But again, I'd rather spend money on one great figure than on ten crappy prime toys. Of course, that's my opinnion.

Wow some of you Americans are bunch of whiny bishes arent you? So the price increase to 15 dollars big whoop. For my country we have to pay 19 frickin dollars per deluxe ever since 5 years ago. You dont see me whining at every single transformers toy forum did you? So STFU and deal with it. You should consider you're lucky cause just the deluxe increased abit. Here's how transformers cost in my country :-

1) Legends - US : 5$ MY : 8$.
2) Commanders - US : 8$ MY : 16$.
3) Deluxes - US : 14~15$ MY : 19$.
4) Voyagers - US : 22$ MY : 39$
5) Leaders - US : 45$ MY : 75$.

So yeah STFU you whiny Americans. I'm doing just fine collecting TFs with the ridiculous price increase here in my country for more than 3 years. Just consider yourself lucky alright cause if I were at your country? I could have increase my TF collection by 2 times the amount.

PS : And to those who ask, no I'm not rich. I'm only a teenager who get like 35$ a month and I live in a normal 2-floor house with my family.

Are you serious with that BS? You can tell you're a little snot teenager for sure. We don't care what you pay for x in x third world country. Get over yourself, Pretentious Prime. No, American consumers don't like paying more for less. Never have, never will and won't unless their that desperate for inferior product. If people here have a problem and stick to their guns and not buy it things COULD change but today's collector just has to have it so probably not. I'm not buying smaller figures for more when I can get better for the same relative amount. Sorry your dollar doesn't stack well against ours but them's the breaks kid, you deal. That's nuts to even try and compare period. =;

Anyone who actually gets out and WORKS for their money (instead of suckling Mommy and Daddy's teet and spending their allowance lol)doesn't like that and generally doesn't do it if they've got half a brain cell. Maybe you'll get it when you do that, till then the "money not earned but I'll tell you what's what" opinions aren't valid. Try collecting thirty years before you expel your vast knowledge of how it works and what we should deal with, other than your current measly three. I haven't laughed so hard in a while. 35$ won't buy me a half tank of gas. You're ballin son and so "wise" beyond your 3 or five (since you changed it twice) whole TF collecting/price increase suffering years.  "STFU you whiny Americans" on an American TF forum, bet that will blow over nicely and get you some fast friends. :HEADHURTS: LMAO

It thrills my soul to know I've spent over a year's worth of The Great Crimson Prime's allowance just in the past week and a half on Transformers. :D I 'm not rich either by any means. It does feel great to spend hard earned money you WORKED for on your hobby and not be racist/nationalist about it. ;) These FTMP will not be bought unless we get some decent sized guys like Grimlock.

Aanywho, does anyone else really want to see more of the foc seeker mold? I'm hoping it's at least as tall as the classics mold (which was short anyway).

If these ever appear in the UK, they will probably be £14.99 at least, although at least VAT (equivalent to sales tax) is already factored in, even if it is massively high. This government. I would rather pay £20 for a deluxe sized deluxe, than £15 for an anaemic midget version of one. I wish Hasbro would stop with the shrinkage.

I heard somewhere that the FOC seeker mold would be taller that FOC OP. And FOC OP is taller than the classics seeker mold.

I'm all for quantity. As long as there is something new in the world of TFs (toywise), I'm good. :D

I am somewhat to surprised to see these in retail already! I figured it would be August before they started popping up, so I am excited about that. The hunt is on!

Does anybody know if Target gets TF's in stock much earlier than other retailers like TRU or Wally World? I'm planning my attack and I'm wondering if it's worth looking at TRU or Wal-Mart yet or if I should stick to Target for the time being.

Thanks for posting this and for providing the item code! Happy hunting!

I for one am really glad to see that this line has been released earlier then planned. I also can't wait to see what the voyager figures look like in hand. All of the pics we have seen so far from this line have made me drool.
I understand that some of us on here are not that impressed, and each is welcome to their valid opinion.

I for one though really like this FOC line so far. If they end up giving us all of the original Dino Bots ( Slag, Snarl, swoop and of course Grimlock) in Voyager size, I just might crap my pants...sorry (TMI)...

Not everybody is okay with that, though. A lot of parents are just gonna see "this thing costs 20 pounds? Here, have a Power Ranger instead." So they lower the plastic allotment to keep prices somewhat reasonable.

Ooooh, I am itching to get my hands on Shockwave, yes I am. I may or may not get Prime, and Jazz doesn't do anything for me. But I don't have a Shockwave of any kind in my collection, and this looks like a good one to start with.

Megatron Wolf wrote:so why are these $15 when theyre not bigger or more complicated or have more detail than TFPrime figures?

Lol i would pay that much for a character i love from a game thats great.
Wanna hear something worse? the target closest to my house has dotm deluxe jolt for 30$. And mudflap for 16.99. But the tf prime toys are priced right ironically

I remember not too long ago Target (temporarily) bumped prices for DotM Deluxes to $30! Then put them "on sale" for ~$16 IIRC. A mere $2 increase doesn't look so bad compared to that.

Anyways, can't wait to find these guys.

Decided to get OP SW and Jazz from BBTS...Im sick and tired of shoddy distribution and retailers that act stupid when you ask them if they have a product in stock..

I have been feeling the same way a bit myself. I bundled FOC Optimus, and Jazz with my Breakdown from BBTS. I didn't add Shockwave just because I am going to try to find him at retail. I figure it will work out, but at least it's just one figure to look for instead of 3.

I also saved myself the pain of finding all 5 figures for FOC Bruticus and just preordered mine, as well as the Amazon set too.

At a certain point the time and gas saved not hunting all over the place makes up for the price difference in most cases.

I'm seriously considering doing the same. I'm sick of seeing yellow everywhere store i go into.

I am thinking the same thing. So, for FOC OP, Jazz and Soundwave on BBTS is $47.99 + $8.29 shipping (at least to GA). That comes to a total of $56.28.

If I buy these at Target, Wally World or TRU they will cost $14.99 each plus 7% tax. This total comes to $48.12. This is only a difference of $8.16 which is only $2.72 per figure.

I've already been to 2 Targets, Wal-Mart and TRU. So, this may be worth it to save the time and gas, especially since I have seen no sign of them even making room for the Generations line.

However, part of me does enjoy the hunt, but...

Just picked them up! The two targets in my area that it listed online as having them did! The first target only had Op and Jazz and the 2nd I just asked for two Shockwaves if they had them and the guy brought them out! Yay! I'm sure they probably had more Op and Jazz at the last Target I was at, didn't ask, one the guys said they aren't supposed to be out on the shelf for 2 more weeks, hence the clearance, glad I won't have too look for these guys now, Shockwave is awesome but smaller and they were 14.99 at my Targets too, but to me they were worth it, especially having a classics Shockwave!!! :KREMZEEK:Image
