This style of comic is exactly what I wish IDW would do with their comics. Why Hasbro and IDW aren't using the main Transformers comic to promote the current products is beyond me but this is how it could be done, with more detailed and fleshed out stories of course.
Furman's best stuff, in my opinion, is when he's writing to promote a product. I'm sure it's his least favorite way to write, but I like when the writers have to stay confined within set borders, otherwise you end up with things that gray the area too much between official fiction and official fiction that feels like fan-fiction to me.
Guido Guidi continues to be my favorite Transformers artist hands-down. His style is what I tried to evoke in my artwork during the 90s. Very talented man and I had the pleasure of meeting him at OTFCC in 2004 (he bought a figure from me at my dealer table). Would love to run into him again at a future Transformers convention.

I'll read this story a little later, so for now, I'll say that the artwork looks very nice and it's interesting how the United fiction is kind of like a blending of several G1 aspects to create a new world separate from all previous G1 fiction.

It's weird, but some of Furman's best work seemed to come when he had to jump through hoops, like at Marvel UK. I think it really challenged him.

Though, was it just me, or did the mentioning of how Drift could overcome the effects of the nano-virus and be able to defend Autobot City all by himself seem a bit too glorifying to his character?
Also, Straxus' tank mode can fly.
