Maybe I'm doing a quick conversion in my head wrong, but that seems kinda pricey, no?

Well the brand unification is a win for some of us ;)^

Wat your seeing is MSRP from Takara not the price retaillers will sell it for in Japan (like Amazon and such).

That price will be more like

Micromasters Red Heat and Stakeout - 1,300 yen
Deluxe Chromia - 2,500 yen
Deluxe Prowl - 2,500 yen
Voyager Soundwave - 3,850 yen

Thats more or less the same as what they will cost here (give or take depending exchange).

AH, that makes more sense, since the unification things have cost basically the same in both territories. Thanks.

Do we know yet if Takara will be releasing certain Siege figures before Hasbro, like Chromia will be in an earlier wave in Japan than the US?

By default this may happen, because TT has official release dates, whereas Hasbro just kind of randomly rolls out there stuff *seasonally* but usually little no nothing is mentioned. I thought it was a pretty big deal that PotP Optimal Optimus was released by :TAKARATOMY: before :HASBRO: , but nobody seemed to care to want to discuss it much.

The retail prices between companies were also the same prices in previous lines. Even with difference decos toys in the TAV line cost the same in Japan as RID toys in the US.

The reason we couldnt do such an easy comparison in the legends line, right before the unification, is because Takara releases in the gen line included different things like extra titan masters and accessories, or targetmasters.

But generally, the same toys cost as much in relative markets. Whether they were the same deco or not.

Then, after work today, I stopped by the Target that's a bit out of my way, the one where I found Power of the Primes Leader Optimal Optimus a few weeks ago, and they finally had something from Siege. I got myself the entire first wave of the Micro Masters tonight! Siege is finally starting to trickle into the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

I would have loved to have found the Deluxes or Voyagers, but this is a start, at least. It could have just as easily been the Battle Masters, which would have been a bit of a bummer, since all I want from the first wave of that size class is Lionizer.

I've found the Battle Masters and Micro Masters in the Chicago area so far. I want the deluxes and above more, but I'm actually glad I found the little fellas first as I had some time to fool around with them and enjoy them before they will likely get overlooked once the deluxes are in hand.

Fun extra bit, the Race Patrol "cars being naughty" gun is reversible. Both of them have a waist swivel so you can have either Roadhandler or Swindler on top.

That sounds bad doesn't it?

I just tried this now and never realized Roadhandler's waist could rotate. Pro tip, unpeg the arms to make things easier, the gun actually works better reversed.

Well that was specifically what I was talking about, when the legend figures came with remolding, different decos and/or extra accessories. I couldn't really remember the prices, apple for apple before then.

My point ultimately is that regardless of the price paid, all territories are getting the same figure. One could make an argument before for paying the "Takara premium (shipping included)" and now that temptation is gone. I don't have to stress over which figure to get and just pick it up at retail.

Sorry, jumping into this thread really late. When I've looked for the DPCI for Siege, I'm seeing individual DPCIs for each figure. Do we know if those work at Target, or is there a blanket one for each size class. Looking for the Deluxe DPCI.

Just a typo :)

Just a head's up for everyone: Greenlight, the Firestormers and Skywarp are exclusives most likely since they're listed separate from the already known items, and two of the three are "off-size". With that, I'm confident Slamdance is a retool of Skytread/Flywheels, with them sharing vehicle modes.

Personally, I'm kinda hoping that Slamdance goes a similar route to Battletrap, where Raindance and Grand Slam have their individual modes, the combined mode, but instead of individual robot modes, they also get a cassette mode that's compatible with Blaster from TR. Or, at least semi-compatible

Slamdance with probably just be a redeco (if not a head retool) of Battletrap.

My Slamdance theory is different: rather than two Deluxes, the box set could include multiple classes, a scaled-down version of the online retailer exclusive TR sets from last year. That could mean a Deluxe, a pair of micromaster/cassettes, and a Battle Master (which could just be Aimless, though that would be disappointing.) The price point is a little high for that kind of lineup, however.

If we're going to speculate, we should have choices. A simple Skytread redeco is probably the more plausible theory, though.

Turns out the individual DPCIs work. They were just putting out a case when I asked about them. Picked up Flywheels. He's great.

I was hoping Greenlight would show up in the "Generations Select" series later on down the line, as another limb option for Elita Infin1te. If she's in War for Cybertron, she's most likely a straight up repaint of Chromia with a new head and no combiner functionality. Boo!

I'm quite interested in the second listing, though. It looks like a 3-Pack at least. I'm guessing Sideswipe will be in his G2 color scheme. Slamdance is most likely a Flywheels/Skytread retool/repaint. The only problem with that is that the jet part of Slamdance should be the "pants" and the tank part the "shirt." That's the opposite of Flywheels' combination scheme. Then there is a third item, starting with "Ai." What could that be? Does the Chinese text to the right give us a better idea? Can anyone translate?

Skywarp is not a surprise, considering we're getting Starscream and Thundercracker in WfC, but what does "Battle Pack" mean? What extra goodies will he come with?

Translating the text gives the names of: sideswipe and slamdance. The third item only roughly translates to either battlemaster or targetmaster.

...um, the English on that chart seems to state there are 2 Leader Primes: a SS DotM Leader Prime, and the previously discussed Siege Leader Optimus.

The fact that that 3-pack is specifically called out as a FIRESTORMER pack, combined with the presence of Greenlight, is unusual though. Do we think those are actually Selects figures with combiner capacity intact for at least Greenlight and Sideswipe? Also, given the retail G1 Sideswipe, is that Sideswipe going to be G2 colored?

Slamdance sounds interesting/exciting, I was hoping they'd use the Duocon engineering to make those cassette combiners.

Woops.

And Greenlight being a combiner? I'm... torn. Chromia and Moonracer/Novastar technically only share engineering plus a few minor parts, it could go either way.

I'm kinda intrigued by the Skywarp listing. For the other to we have an idea of what we're getting, but for Skywarp it's listed as a "battle pack" so he comes with more stuff, but what? I'm thinking Micro Master repaints, but who knows?

Seige showed up at my target today, got hound, cog and skytread; they're all great, hound and skytread both have a really satisfying transformation. haven't messed with cogs weaponizing ability yet, he's pretty fun in bot mode. It's great that, beyond a ton of paint apps (painted rims, finally  ) all the figures seem to have at least two accessories, and panels to cover most of the hollow bits, seems this is one price bump that was deserved :-?

Those new Siege rumors are pretty interesting. Skywarp was always my favorite of the original 3 seekers, so he'd be a must buy. And the Chromia mold seems like an improvement over Moonracer (who I already liked to begin with), so Greenlight would be a buy as well.

Bought Skytread this morning (only deluxe left at my Target) and his right hip was glued and can't move, so he can't even fully transform. It's really too bad, he has a fun, intricate transformation and I really wanted to put him with my other Scavengers, but oh well. I checked another Target later and was lucky enough to find Sideswipe and Cog left! I'm going to return poor Skytread after work and open up the other two. I'm a little disappointed the deluxe I want most is the only one I haven't seen yet but Hound will show up eventually. Now I just need to keep my eyes open for Prime and Megs.

I'm really starting to doubt how useful Brickseek really is. A few weeks ago, I tried all of the Wave one DPCI codes for the Target stores in my area. Every store listed each one as "Out of Stock." Doing the same now, nothing shows up at all. There are no stores listed. It only tells me "No results found in the searched area." The product information comes up, complete with stock photo, but it doesn't even say "Out of Stock" at any Targets in my area. It just acts like it doesn't exist. I also know this can't be right, because I got the Micro Masters from one of my local Targets earlier this week. That store should be popping up with at least an "Out of Stock" notification if they already sold through. Does anyone have the regular assortment numbers yet? I wonder if those will work better than the individual DPCI's.

That sucks if true. What's the real harm in Brickseek for Target? I guess they're worried that they won't get collectors to search all their stores and buy a stupid throw pillow instead if they don't find the figure they're looking for?

I tried Target.com, but they don't have the Siege figures listed yet. Though, doing a search for "Transformers Siege" brought up a whole host of things I'd never guess you could order through Target.com. Takara Transformers Legends figures! They've got a bunch of them! Of course, they're online only, but still. Is Target partnering with an importer now or something?

EDIT: It turns out they're partnering with TFSource!

I love this series. The gimmick doesn’t affect every figure that doesn’t need it (looking at you, PotP Combiner gimmick). The ones it does affect are a lot of fun and have a ton of ways to use it and the ones that aren’t are just well engineered fun. Cog is a little funky and has a couple loose joints because of all his limbs separating but finding new ways to weaponize him is a lot of fun. Sideswipe is just fantastic, I missed regular, non-combining deluxes so much. He’s sleeker and I want to say almost better engineered than the Masterpiece, I have literally zero issues with him. Can’t wait to get Megatron, Optimus, Hound and another Skytread that works properly.

Finally! I've struck gold! The FOURTH Target I checked on my way home tonight had Siege Deluxes and Battle Masters! It was a different Target than the one where I found the Micro Masters earlier this week. Now, I just need to find the Voyagers (and the Leaders, but those don't seem to be in circulation at all yet).

Initially, I didn't see them on the shelf, because they were NOT with the normal Transformers section. They were in one of those weird short endcap things close by. They also had a bunch of that Studio Series Bumblebee 2-Pack. I might have to go back tomorrow and check a few stores again just in case they also have special endcaps for Siege. The Micro Masters I found in a different Target earlier this week were in the proper Transformers section, though. To all others who have found Siege figures so far in Target stores, where were they located? In the normal Transformers spot or in a different spot?

^Rysquad obviously found them in the regular spot

I want a better vehicle mode. Aaaaaaaaand go.

What if you detach Gasket (the 6-wheel car) from Grommet (the half-track)?

Siege Leader Class Shockwave and Ultra Magnus are up for preorder on BBTS, estimated for December. They're individualy listed for $54.99 or as a case of one of each for $99.99. I ordered Shockwave myself, I like my Combiner Wars IDW style Magnus just fine.

Well, turns out I had them connected wrong, basically just laying down robot. Form the 2 separate vehicles and then use the small tab on Grommet to attach to Whosits. I usually don't read the instructions for TFs, to give my aging brain a little workout; occasionally is not so good.

Thanks for the input!

You're welcome!

Would you mind testing how well Titan Masters can sit on the individual vehicles?
