True. One figure, however, cannot save an entire line.

I personally feel that line is ultra solid and I feel lucky as a TF fan that if I have a problem with how any of them look paint wise, I have another option. But of course, I totally respect anyone who thinks otherwise.

I know I'm in the vast minority with my feelings. Ironically, I actually like the paint on many of the line's figures. My problems lie with non headmasters now being headmasters. Bad mold choices for repaints on characters who deserve original molds. Also, in my opinion, bad size class choices. It would also be fair to say I've been so spoiled by masterpiece and 3rd party, I have a hard time giving the main lines a fair look.
Thankfully, there are figures like Primal here to make up for the rest.

I totally get that size class issue. As for the headmasters on everyone thing I recently learned that the movie bots all became headmasters in the Japanese cartoon, so its not completely as left field as I thought at first. And Takara's looks sooooooooo good. As good as this Primal (I preordered both from Anime export). And believe it or not, I am a bit more appreciative of these mainline products over the MPs and 3p toys. I own them too and somehow because of the money I spend, I expect more than I usually get (in recent memory, only Ironhide really lived up to my expectations). With cheaper mainline toys, I expect less and usually dont end up dissapointed. Also, so far all my 3p toys had issues with really loose parts or pieces falling off so it leaves a bitter taste.

How's the arm poseability?

It doesn't look like 総 ("Sō") to me, which is the Kanji in 総司令官 ("Sōshireikan") that means "Supreme Commander", the rank commonly attributed to Autobot and Maximal leaders in Japan.

Wasn't Fortress and Starsaber one of those?

Did you catch that long dong between his gorrila legs?
Also, just wondering, for those changing their minds and wanting this toy now, where are you planning on getting it?

Good grief,no. Didn't spot that. That's the back of the leg catching the light right????
I get my MP figures from Kapow Toys (just ordered mine).

Keyword being "was" its no longer good enough, and must be replaced.

That's just the white of his robot mode legs catching the light, thank god. I preordered mine from BBTS. I have the Planet of Junk Platinum set and Takara Windblade in my Pile of Loot, I'm waiting for a couple more things to come in and as soon as Primal is paid for I'll ship the pile out.

I didnt get a ship notification. But none of us would, because the toy gets released on the last day of october and you only get a shipping notifiction when its in stock.

That makes sense. Where I ordered from just had the release date as October. Didn't know release was on the 31st.

He is still vailable everywhere you would usually get your takara toys. Best price right now would be Amiami's http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... URE-018262

That depends on what a good price is for you, and whether or not you want the version with the die-cast mace or not.
Without Mace
BBTS and TFSource have him for $119.99
HLJ is going for $92
Ami Ami: $86
With Mace Have only found him at BBTS and TFsource: $127.99
Everywhere else seems to be sold out.
