Interesting...

Still this appears to be a version we know that has a serious backpack already. I see major posing issues with this guy if jetpack adds significant amount of weight to an already kibble ridden design. I will reserve judgement until there are better pics. I would love another Prime with jetpack. The Amazon/Tru DOTM exclusive version is one of my favorite Primes ever...especially coming from movieverse.

That's clearly not the same mold as the Leader. Just look at those legs.

There's something weird going on there. I can't tell if it's mistransformed, or a bad photo, or what.

Remember, we have two Leader molds: First Edition and the regular Leader. Unfortunately, I can't tell which one they used.

THIS IS A DIFFERENT MOLD..

can't people see.. look at the lower legs, neither the first edition or the leader has the entire nose of the truck spin around to the back of the legs..

this figure is smaller than a leader class.

Actually it looks like the leader class figure, the nose of the truck does go to the back of the legs.

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... es-37.html

The foot and chest look different for sure but I think it's trailer pieces attached to the figure to make it bulkier and better looking. i.e. Battle Tanker and City Commander.

It may also be a new mold like you say but either way, I don't know if I will want it because my Jetwing Optimus is already so awesome!

It has to be a new mold, just look at the price no way they're charging that little for a leader with a trailer. This has to be deluxe size possibly voyager.
Re: Takara Tomy Transformers: Lost Age LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime Announced (1564057)

Yeah, those legs are completely different from both the First Edition and the Leader, as the FE has one wheel on each ankle facing backward, the Leader has one wheel on each ankle facing forward, while this figure has no wheels on its ankles but instead two wheels on each of its shins.

The feet are also thinner, and the inside of this figure has a smoother inner legs while both the FE and Leader have chunky, kibble-ful inner legs.

Both the FE and the Leader also have the truck smokestacks rested flush up against Prime's back, whereas they are nowhere to be seen on this toy's robot mode. Now, one could try to argue this by claiming that the trailer wings are blocking them from view. If that's true, then the smokestacks on this figure must not rest right up against this Prime's back like they do on the FE and Leader toys.

The hubcap on the front wheel in truck mode also looks to be different, as here we see it have about ten holes going around its circumference, whereas the Leader's front hubcaps have no holes and the FE's front hubcaps have only five holes that going around the center instead of the circumference. And something like the hubcaps is not something that tends to get remolded for additional uses of a mold. Especially for more uses of it as the same character. Generations FOC Blaster was a unique case since they wanted to make him stand out form Soundwave and Soundblaster and the change fits his fun-loving personality, whereas a more stoic, dull Optimus wouldn't warrant a change in hubcaps for an Optimus remold into another Optimus.

So, yeah, combined with that price, it's gotta be a new mold.

Yeah, 4 step transformation and sounds by the look of it; 'Let's go (or here we go, etc) Bumblebee!' and 'I am optimus Prime'
Looks like he is built around play value for the one steppers. So, maybe he's not too bad if you pic up the one steps or maybe cyberverse? I'm not sure how big the one steps are...

Something isn't right about his kibble. It hangs at the back like the train of a dress. It's an okay looking figure. It's very possible that it's a retool of the Leader Class First Edition or the official AOE Optimus Prime. >:oP

I'll re-iterate:

4 Step Transformation

As in, it's akin to the One-Step and Flip-and-Change figures, as well as the Simplified Prime figures.

and i was able to be sure because i could look at the differences between this mold and the other two and come to the logical (and correct) conclusion that it was different.. but not only different, but it was smaller too.

so.. i'm not sure what "type of person" i am.. i was telling you that it's a different mold.. which, it is. i'm not sure where the problem is.

in the first photo we saw.. all you had to do was look at the lower legs and the shoulders to understand that it was a different mold.. people still thinking it's one of the previous molds doesn't help the discussion at all.. so, to clear it up, i let you know that it's a different mold. and viola, it's a different mold.

I totally agree with you on this Prime mold and fugly backpack. I can say though that having Galvatron in hand he is really not as bad as he looks in pictures. The Hasbro coloring is terrible but the figure has significant weight, is highly articulated, and display well in either mold. That's just my humble opinion.

Thanks for weighing in on Galvatron. I do not think Galvatron is terrible either, but if the aesthetics of the backpack and the face mold (cross eyed villain is more haha than omg) can be a fraction better, then I would definitely get him. Perhaps using the first edition Optimus as comparison is more apropos.

I'd kind of like an optimus with a trailer, but not a third of a trailer. I'll wait to see what the upcoming TRU Optimus with Trailer is gonna look like. That trailer looks complete. But this figure would be great for the kids, and is probably cheaper since the TRU Optimus is currently listed for $149.99 I think.

These ONE-STEP changer that replaced my fav. Cyberverse line is an absolute ABOMINATION! The looks of these changers are so distorted and doesn't even have proper joint movements compared to the Commsnder class Cyberverse. In truth I've spent over $500 on cyberverse line, now ONE STEP, Sparklers or whatever that's "replacing" Legion line can get no dollars from me as other discussion threads and people said many things alike. Epic fail!
