Takara Tomy Transformers Go! G26 Optimus Exprime Combined Images

Wow. He's an ugly mess.

Easy pass. Then again, most Takara stuff are passes for me (only because I can only get so much with my crappy budget).

Power Rangers are like crappy Transformer wannabes, so I can't for the life of me figure out why TT would try to copy them.

This just keeps getting worse and worse.

I haven't used the term fugly in a while, but that's the term that popped into my head immediately upon looking at this.

Seriously though, the figure may look like it could use more polish but it doesn't look like total garbage. We've all seen way worse, haven't we?

I can't argue the statement either and while, surprisingly, I don't own Armada Sideswipe, I do have many other of the figures from that line (and others) that have left me me saying "WTF was I thinking???"

Still, and much pun intended considering one of his alt modes, this thing is a freaking train-wreck.

Sigh, such an awesome idea, yet, badly executed, for it's obviously super top heavy, & worse looks like a mess, & not at all cool or good.

...Dammit, TomyT', has gotta do better than that. Simpler, sturdier, stouter, & heavier at the feet so it can stand, and also give us HEAVY joints.

I'm not spending money on items that are that flawed anymore, not when you at TomyT', know about these issues, & have for years. Especially not at the import or "collector" prices. Even if I will likely see this at Toy's r Us at some point, I still would avoid it.

Not in my taste, but it's pretty cool looking. Wouldn't spend money on it though. Back in my day, Optimus didn't combine with anyone! Not Jetfire, not Godbomber, not even High-Q! I'm all for Optimus being something other than a truck or a monkey though. Unless he were a hat or a shoe. That would be silly.

Well that is pretty much crap. Also I don't see a dragon anywhere there and why does Japan love transforming robots with train alt modes so well? They seem like they would be so limited, although I do remember Astrotrain in steam-train mode running through the desert and jungle with no tracks and I was ok with it.

Transformers GO! is less like a sequel to a serious high quality (and kid friendly) show like Transformers : Prime/Beast Hunters, and more like "Epic Predacon animation models battle the off-spring of energon Ironhide x/and Prowl.... and the offspring of BWII Leo Prime + Sky-Byte/Hellscream/Cybershark + G1 Divebomb... one big energon fueled robo-sexual orgy of incoherent character action designed and marketed to emulate an actual story.... and now a kibbled out wannabe Classic Prime with epically bad arm kibble.. (And I thought Classic Prime was bad) is supposed to wow us... (NO!) that's the toy / answer..but.. put him in the show, and have him fight Tengen Toppa Gurren Dragotron.. and OMG

Just to comment (off-topic) on Train-formers:

one of my favorite G1 combiners is Sixliner / Sixtrain. (cuz I love micromasters, and they scale epically with robot masters Star saber / victory leo as well as the takara WST series)

and Railspike from R.I.D. (the only r.i.d. trainformer i had, but i got to play with midnight run), but Railspike is one of my favorite transformers of all time. he's sleek, sexy and his train mode is awesome too.

I just noticed, this thing is so lazy, it doesn't even have hands or fists, just train cockpits with a hole on the side. Wow
This is like someone had a neat concept for a combining train mecha, drew a up a ruff concept and then after that lost interest. I'm sure with some work and effort put into it, it could be pretty badass.


But yes, this Optimus Prime is still crappy.

My points of critique

Magnaboss: The Elephant dude Ironhide is most of the big bot. The lion is just the head and the bird doesn't need to be there at all.
Tripredacus is pretty decent but kinda flimsey. Same goes for Magmatron wit the head dude.

Railracer: A lot of people use him as an example of a good 3-dude combiner. I disagree. The middle guy is only the abs. and the lower guy is in his own robot mode just 2 giant legs.

Energon, well, practically all of 'm.

Don't (or do) get me wrong. I love the Armada Prime & Overload combo. But I don't see these dudes as combiners. Same goes for Duocons. As long as a bot has a good spot in the combined form.
And a lot of the times in a 3 or 4 combiner set one robot was just put on there because he has to be in it somehow.

On topic:

I liked the Bullet Train Prime first, but the likes are fading away + the price is going to break the deal completely.




And I for one like Armada Sideswipe. Still need to remove those horrible spring loaded fists -_-

Bullet trains are a major mode of transportation in Japan. There are Shinkansen lines that run all over the nation.

It's like asking why America loves transforming robots with sportscar or fighter jet altmodes. It's what's mainstream in each country.

Because that's NOT what it is. It's a sequel to the JAPANESE DUB of Transformers: Prime, which ended with SEASON TWO and was dubbed COMEDICALLY. It's not meant to be a sequel to the English version; Season 3 "Beast Hunters" doesn't exist as far as Go! is concerned.

I'm amazed at noctorro's listed images. But not because I wasn't aware, but, because of the fact that, at one time, I owned 80% of these toys. Since then, I've sold many, [too many], or gave them to kids, & afterward, forgot about most of the rest, save 3 or 4 gestalts, listed here.

Seibertron user Powered Convoy has let us know that Amazon Japan has updated its listing for Transformers GO! G26 ExPrime with official photos showing his robot mode, train mode and dragon mode. Also showcased is his combinations with G01 Kenzan and G05 Gekisomaru.

Optimus prime done as a bullet train alone could've been fantastic. Alas with the need to incorporate a 2-way combination method and the dragon mode really muddies things up with kibbl;e with nowhere to go in robot mode.

The combined forms are named:
* DaiKenzan (Kenzan on top, Optimus in the middle, Gekisoumaru as the legs)
* DaiGekisou (Gekisoumaru on top, Optimus in the middle, Kenzan as the legs)
