Sabrblade wrote::shock: That... That... That... That... (*slaps face*) That has to be the single most beautiful piece of Transformers artwork ever produced in the whole span of all 30 years from 1984 to today! Sarah Stone should be given a slaggin' medal for just that art piece alone! Why, make her become the official permanent artist for all things Transformers from here on out and we'll likely never have to worry about bad artwork ever again!
Are you being sarcastic, based on what's been said before on this thread?
I do really like it though, reminds me of Möbius for some reason. Looking good.

This artwork is drop. Dead! GORGEOUS! I cannot praise any further since no amount of praise could even begin to hope to do it justice!

I wish the actual toy's jet mode looked like that, with all the red and "face paint." Though looking at the toy again it does look like the VTOLs can actually swivel down like that, which is really awesome.

That is a beautiful page, the colours just pop and I love the transformation scene starting in the top establishing panel, crossing over from the panel into the negative space, moving between negative space and the border-less panel and then ending in the border-less panel.
I love it and it shows that someone knows her page layout and shots.

I feel like there may be some sort of Fiona Staples influence, especially in how the background is rendered compared to the foreground.
But yes, very much looking forward to this next month!

What about Armada Airazor?OptimalOptimus2 wrote:This is the first time ever in Transformers history that we have a female Autobot that can convert to a jet. (Beast Wars Metals Airazor doesn't count.)
Or Animated Kappa Supreme (technically a starship, but still an aircraft)?

But yeah, I'd like to see deluxes of all the female transformers, including flamewar. I know we have a slipstream but Id like to see a unique version.

Starscream looks good. I wish the toy pulled off that look, but it doesn't.
I dig the art. It's...almost, maybe, a little, kinda on the cutesy side, but It's just so vibrant, like really nice water color.

I'd be impressed if I weren't so determined to be indifferent.

I have to agree about the art. Well...more specifically about Chromia and Windblade. Stone's art is gorgeous, especially the opening sunrise and inside Metroplex. But the two 'bots are drawn to look so YOUNG....almost like anime characters- Minerva comes to mind. Yet, Starscream is drawn with a very formidable look- moreso than in the current ongoings. I much preferred the more mature looks of Windblade, Chromia and Nautica in their first appearances in the IDW-verse a few issues back (RiD #25, and MTME #26).

Yes, YOUNG is exactly how I feel. But I think it works in terms of conveying the sense that this is all so new to Windblade and Chromia; although they may have been around for who knows how long, it's the youth of a new experience.
But I just can't get over how much I like Screamer's look. I keep thinking Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

My guess is she will have some kind of love/hate relationship and maybe show some understanding towards Starscream's point of view.
Ha, she could be the comic version of a Transformers fangirl, although i believe the writers have something else planned for her.
Can't wait to pick up this comic and see.

(high five) I need to bleach my brain and block the images with my ad blocker after looking images of Wing-B***h (I mean, the bot) accidentally every time.

I agree, if only to invite further argument! I object to the TF-Prime-ification of GEEWUN-continuity faces, as depicted here. RUINED FOREVER!

Hah, I had forgotten that sh** comic existed. Is that guy still alive?
Also: I agree on the point of Chromia not having a nose, I really don't like that. Not that she needs a nose, she's a robot, but still it just kinda looks off to me. I don't really see how it looks like anime, but I'm not really digging the art-style (yeah, I said I liked it before when the first page was posted, but we didn't really see any detail in that). I guess I just like my robots to look like robots, and not people wearing costumes.

Then again, we don't quite have that good a look at her face in these pics, so maybe later pages could have her face looking more expressively normal, nose and all.Fires_Of_Inferno wrote:Also: I agree on the point of Chromia not having a nose, I really don't like that. After all, didn't she have a nose visible in Dark Cybertron?

True enough. I hope they go with that. Though there are a couple of good looks at her profile view, and that shot with her and Rattrap. If the nose is not being drawn "just because" then, well it's hard to say that the artist is being lazy given the amount of care and detail with everything else, but that's really all that springs to mind is lazyness. I dunno, maybe I'm just *trying* to find things I don't like about it with the nose thing, but something just feels off with it I guess.
