Some sneaky news from the SDCC 2014 Transformers panel, as the Hasbro News Twitter account took questions - for one hour - from fans during the preview evening, and are currently answering a selection of them. The first question answered concerns the possibility of more Generations Titans figure, after last year's Metroplex (and its SDCC 2013 exclusive counterpart!).

Metroplex was tied to the Fall of Cybertron game. Big character, big product & you guys love him.

We're always looking to do things that tie together with our great stories.

If you guys continue to love the great products we put out we're going to continue to make them!

The second answer addresses the return of fan-favourite Transformers: Prime Knock Out.

We always get lots of Q's abt everyone's favorite characters from #Transformers lore.

We look at Transformers and there’s 1000’s of wonderful characters to choose from each year.

We think about all the great fans of all ages from Rescue Bots fans to Generations fans.

So we try to balance the toy line each year to pick characters that fans of all ages will love.

(Someone hasn't been reading their IDW Publishing comics of recent..)

Third question is about more characters, Hot Rod and Blurr!

Hot Rod & Blurr – some of our favorites & great characters from our history that many know & love!

Each year we think about the stories we want to tell to Transformers fans of all ages.

We want to make sure we’re tying the product line with the stories being told.

We love to get fans’ feedback as we move forward and build new stories for all of our fans.

All of which sounds like the most non-committal definitely maybe answer in a while. But feel free to speculate away in the Energon Pub discussion boards: what do you think? Will we get more Titan Class figures? Would you like to see more of a particular character?

Am I the only one thinking if they had swapped Breakdown and Offroad's colours and names, that would have made more sense? I mean Offroad looks kinda like Prime Breakdown, no?

And, are we not gonna talk about the legion sized Optimus for RiD? That design looks nifty! Voyager or leader of that please :D

You know what I'm thinking?

I think they're trying to be flexible with these combiners. For example, if there's to be a Bruticus (and I pray to God that there is one coming in the works; Fall of Cybertron Bruticus just will not do!), then they'll take Alpha Bravo/Slingshot and redeco him as Vortex, Offroad/Wildrider as Swindle (hey, it's vaguely military jeep-ish), a couple new molds for Brawl and Blast Off, and a new mold for Onslaught.

If this is the case, then I'm willing to forgive Wildrider being a truck.

Alpha Bravo seeming based on Vortex, Offroad might be based more on someone other than Wildrider. Looking at those with similar altmodes and who have robot mode designs similar to his, it's possible that might have instead been based on, of all bots, Ruckus!

Yeah, Hasbro didn't really answer those questions, and the one they actually did was a vague answer about the continuation of Titan-class figures.

I hoped someone at least mentioned Masterpiece Star Saber... I'd like to own him when he's released, but without paying import prices.

Hasbro continues to embarrass 3rd Parties. A better Brainstorm at a quarter of the price. A better Springer at a fifth of the price. And now a comparable-looking pair of combiners at a fifth of the price.

Yeah I can't see a domestic release for star saber, unless enough fans were vocal for it. I'm looking at importing anyway as it's really unlikely the UK would ever see a release.

With more to come hopefully and scramble-city style at that :D

You know what would be awesome? Power Core Combiner repaints of all these guys. Maybe Offroad and Slingshot are reflections of that. Or maybe Hasbro thought it was overly redundant to have two combiners where one had four cars for limbs and the other four jets when no other G1 combiners had multiples of the same alt mode within their teams. Although as someone pointed out already, Breakdown should have been the SUV.

Shame they didn't make one of the Aerialbots a space shuttle instead of a helicopter. If they do plan on Defensor and Bruticus, they'll have three helicopters possibly all the same mold then.

Silverbolt would make a great Skyburst/Darkstream/Jet master aka Tread Bolt by the way.

Just throwing some thought out there.

these new combiners are PAINFULLY close to what i want... like, im almost in physical pain...

the stunticons are a good effort, but falls short of FP's. this is pretty much the alternative to those who dont want to pay 3rd party prices. he's stocky and kinda odd looking. but hey, elbow and knee joints, actual hands, and no clear energon'y looking bits to complain about.

superion is the one who causes me pain. he would have been PERFECT if it werent for alpha bravo/slingshot whatever. and i can honestly see from a sales perspective why they wouldnt want five planes for fear of repetitivety.... but arg! so close! this might also explain mister SUV in the stunitcon lineup instead of wildrider.

You're right. RID Vehicon knew how to efficiently fold up his car kibble. I don't know WHAT'S going on there, or why designers still think that's okay to do.

As always, we can hope for it just being mistransformations.

Site owner Seibertron was on the scene of the post-Hasbro Panel showroom display, and we here at Seibertron.com bring to you our first look at new Kre-O Kreons Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Starscream! These Kreons are similar to the Microchange Kreons of before: same idea, but different execution. How different? The robot and vehicle modes are much larger, and, unlike Kre-O sets from before, these require no partsforming at all! Take a look at the four images below, courtesy of Seibertron himself!

UPDATE

Also, according to the Big Man himself, eveybody's favorite Dinobot Grimlock will also be joining Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Starscream in the first wave, and a Triplechanger character (who, we do not know at this time) is planned for release during Fall 2014. No images at this time. Sorry, Kreon fans!

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... official images for the newly-revealed Generations: Combiner Wars Aerialbots and Stunticons! The Aerialbots, comprised of traditional team members Silverbolt, Air Raid, Skydive, and Firefly (originally Fireflight. Darn those trademark laws!) are joined by Alpha Bravo (a very Vortex-like character replacing Slingshot) and honorary Aerialbot Powerglide (revealed at BotCon last month), who is revealed to also transform into a weapon capable of being wielded by the Aerialbots' combined mode, Superion!

Meanwhile, their Decepticon counterparts, the Stunticons, are comprised of Motormaster (a redeco and heavy retool of the previously-revealed Voyager Optimus Prime), Breakdown, Dead End, Dragstrip, and newcomer Offroad, an apparent duo-homage of Generation One Ruckus and Wildrider, whose vehicle mode deco Offroad's vehice mode is based on. Also included in Team Stunticon is an as-of-yet-named Legends-class sports car, rumored to be Blackjack, based and named after the Generation One character of the same name, who forms the chestplate of the Stunticons' combined mode, Menasor!

Honestly, I'm just glad they aren't trying to force the integration of the appendages into the figures themselves. They tried that with Fall of Cybetron Bruticus, and we all know how well that turned out.

I am liking the direction of the new deluxe. The style and details Hasbro is pulling off are really something. I know it comes at the cost of more simple transformations. But I am more than willing to pay that price if the figures are look more complete and like actual action figures like they do here. It will be an exciting year in 2015 indeed :)

You have to know where to look. Some folks managed to get theirs between $45-$60 total. Hasbro's MP Prowl is gonna have a $70 base price, which TRU will undoubted up the price even further.

Here's art that was used at the panel briefing today. You be the judge. ;)

Ah, I just hadn't fished around to,see all of the images. There's just so many!

But, it looks like those are in fact the Arialbots, and they do appear to work as in the days of old.

I am one happy fan.

Sometimes there isn't enough WANT in the world.

Yeah, changing Slingshot to a copter is a tough choice but I suspect this might be a marketing choice (mums not wanting to buy a toy plane for their kids when "you already have enough planes"). From the Geewun perspective it's a whiff but from the objective perspective of having a slightly less homogenous looking set of figures on shelves it's smart, and there's already more than enough homage in these sets to go around. The other four Aerialbots look mouth-wateringly good AND homage-y.

The same for Wildrider. I am reaaaaaaaally hoping for a Technobot set.

You're wanting a Technobot set, I'm wanting a Combaticon set, everybody's wanting a Constructicon set...

Good God, Hasbro really knows how to brutally murder wallets when push comes to shove, can they? :BOOM:
