Although the images are heavily photoshopped, Grapple appears much more orange than earlier prototypes suggested. Additionally, this appears to be the first time we've seen Lugnut correctly transformed. Finally, Strafe is an Autobot repaint of the NEST Global Alliance Mindwipe mold, homaging G1 Technobot Strafe.

Lugnut looks amazing! They all do in fact, but I'm more excited for Lugnut more than anything.

I agree a 100% on that comment. I neva got him in the animated series cause he looked awful to me but wow...what a overhaul in design

Here's hoping that Grapple is closer to these colors than that bright yellow previously seen. Lugnut looks very menacing, excellent update. Strafe is my least favorite of these three. He looks ok, but I prefer mindwipe.

Same here! He was too small for a voyager. It really impresses me how they revamp original Animated characters into the Reveal the Shield/Generations line. I wonder if they'll do a Bulkhead or a Slipstream sometime in the near future. I'd be interested to see what Hasbro does with those characters.

Wow, those are some nice figures. Grapple is looking quite good, and it's nice to see that he got quite a bit remolded from Inferno. Strafe also looks cool and would be quite nice with Sunspot, but since I already have Mindwipe and Skystalker I won't be getting him.
And finally Lugnut. WOW! Lugnut looks like one nice figure. I don't think this one is going to be a shelfwarmer like his Animated counterpart. It also looks like his colours are a mix of his original ones and his Atomic Lugnut repaint, which looks really good together. Very impressive design overall.

GLORIOUS!!! Not only did Lugnut get to follow his glorious Master to other glorious continuities (vague enough to fit into both Generations and Movie), he also gains glorious articulation for his fingers and neck.
There looks to be a button on his alt mode's tail. Wonder what it does.
How'd they convince Lugnut to hide his 'badge' I'll never know. I'd expect him to be the one with an oversized insignia painted on him, not Strafe.

Grappel is far too blocky for my tastes and Strafe is far too Decepticony to be an Autobot. So I'll only be buying (the glorious) Lugnut.

Grapple is so mine when he comes out. I wish that they woud re-release Inferno with a ladder. All I am in interested in now is classic style figs and WFC. I hope they make some more classics in the voyager scale

There's always the Gears of War set that provides Inferno with a Ladder. I have it and it works great.

Initial photos had Lugnut looking awful, but now he is a must have!

Still would have kinda preferred Slipstream as an Animated to Classics crossover though. :-?

The sigils on Strafes' wings are neat, but I don't want two of the mold.

Seeing Lugnut makes me glad I didn't buy the Animated version when I was tempted.

The orange on Grapple looks better. And I second the desire for an Inferno w/ ladder.

From the looks of it I would say that it's a push button release so his tail section folds down his back in robot mode. But I could be wrong.

Not fussed on Strafe (which is a shame because he was one of my favourites as a kid) and the completely yellow crane section of Grapple's needs to be broken up a bit (in my opinion).

Seems like Grapple's been hanging out in Venusville with the poor radiation shielding and Kuato's now taken up residence...

Do not be deceived by what appears to be the proper orange on Grapple. All the official pics of Terradive led me to believe he was a beautiful bronze color, only to see him as bright Sunkist orange in person. I honestly think he will be exactly as the first images were, and that the Transformers: United version will hit the mark, and the wallet.

Strafe is...well...a repaint. meh.

Grapple looks WONDERFUL but I really dislike Lugnut in those "Atomic Lugnut" style colours, well, at least they are more that than original Lugnut. If they re-release him in his "normal" colours I would get him as the mold looks decent. Actually, better than decent. Awesome.

Wow Lugnut looks badass, glad they didnt use the purple color scheme. Grapples cool but i cant afford repaints even if there is remolding. Strafe is another pointless repaint, the mold is awesome but i hate repaints. And why strafe why not Skyjack? When i first saw this mold that was the first transformer i thought of.

Grapple looks better the more I see images of him (albeit heavily photoshopped ones in this case) and he's becoming one of my most sought after Voyagers. I have the Inferno mold (just recently acquired it) and I think Grapple will look perfect next to his mold mate. Lugnut, to me, is the best of the three. He just looks amazing. I love the WWII alt-mode (which is one of my reasons for wanting Highbrow) and his bot mode looks menacingly cool. Strafe is likely a pass for me. I'd rather track down the Mindwipe version of the mold, personally.
Re: Reveal The Shield Grapple, Lugnut, and Strafe - Official Images (1134876)

Grapple needs to have a tow truck apparatus in place of the crane arm and to be named.... Hauler! That name and a slight redeco/retool would go great with this mold. Green or yellow, either would be fine.

Lugnut looks pretty cool except his "bust". And Strafe, when i saw Mindwipe in person i was blown away with how awesome it looked but never picked it up, and Strafe has an amazing color combo, i just might have to grap this good lookin' guy.
Re: Reveal The Shield Grapple, Lugnut, and Strafe - Official Images (1134883)
Posted by Shadowstream on October 13th, 2010 @ 1:05am CDT
Grapple is pretty good, though his head kinda bothers me. It's like he went to the same makeover station as universe sideswipe. But given that I ultimately caved and got both autobot brothers as well as red alert, I don't think that'll deter me much.

Lugnut I can dig, but given he's a voyager once again leaves me a bit disappointed. I just hope he won't be as short this time around.

Strafe is... um... random? I dunno, is Strafe really a semi-popular enough character to warrant another homage? No offense to fans of the character(are there any?) but Strafe seems like a bit of wasted potential, especially with that mold not having much in the way of guns on it.

Grapple looks superb. :BOT:

Kudos to Hasbro; they could easily have just done a straight repaint of Inferno with no remolding/sculpting whatsoever but they've done a great job on him.

This bodes well for Generations Wheeljack coming from the Tracks mold. ;)

Grapple is cool with all those remoulds. And it is a good mould anyway. Instant buy.

Lugnut I like, but he seems a little too green? Needs more purple. Will wait for some reviews on him.

Interesting that Strafe is getting so many figures lately. I really like G1 Strafe, but pass on all these repaints. The Mindwipe mould would probably make a pretty good Falcon though, with a new head.

Hasbro, please stop photoshopping the toy images. Stop lying to us. Your figure never have that smart semi metallic look to them that these photos imply.

Lugnut is the pick of the crop in that trio. A great way for those who didnt like the Animated look to aquire those characters. Clever thinking on Hasbro's part there.

Grapple- Never gotten Inferno so this is a buy for me. Im not one for many repaints but this being retinkered as Grapple, lovin' it.

Lugnut- Total win for me, Hasbro/Takara did an amazing job rethinking of a better way to make him just so much better. And hes got a movable head.

Strafe- Dont care for this repaint. Not worth buying.

The verdict is:

If Grapple comes is these colors, yes i'll buy him, but something tells me that Hasbro will be more yellow and Takara's will be dead on G1! Definite buy for me.

Great another TFA figure making it's way over to a different line! Hasbro please stop this, you did this with Lockdown and some others and now with Lugnut!! Hasbro i don't understand you sometime, or even at all, this is the last thing we need is mixing lines and such. What a wasted resource Lugnut is. This one is a PASS for me.

Well, well i saw this coming sooner or later, but damn it Hasbro, you've been doing new head molds here and there and you can't do it for Strafe?? My god, Hasbro please get your act together and stay on track with this and stop the repaints. But if your gonna keep doing repaints, please add something different to the mold beside new colors, Thank you. Strafe is a PASS for me. Mindwipe is much better and so is the metallic blue version of this mold.

For the first time in a while, I am disappointed that Hasbro went above and beyond and gave us a new head mold. I liked the Inferno head much more, and this looks a bit movieish.

Lugnut is pretty cool, and the Red Mindwipe is a decent repaint.

Random and unexpected, yes but I disagree with a wasted potential.

Perhaps the repaint could have gone to a Decepticon who could join with Sunspot instead of the two being unrelated individuals but its a good repaint IMO. Also, a homage doesn't need to be of a well known semi-popular character. Its somewhat cool when a lesser known character makes a long overdue re-appearance. I never did see Mindwipe so I may get Strafe instead.

Besides, if it had to be an Autobot then any character would have been an equally strange choice.

I'm assuming you've already got him but if you're a big fan of Strafe, why not just get the Gentei Henkei exclusive figure?

Grapple - although i'm not getting him, i have to say that he looks absolutely superb! also the legs look sorta soul of chogokin-ish to me for some odd reason

Lugnut - holy butt hats does he look glorious! i loved lugnut in animated, he was probably my favorite original character, though his toy looked HORRENDOUS i would have been ok with the size if he was more show accurate, so anyway i'm VERY excited for this guy, just everything about him is fantastic, not to mention he has finger articulation which means you can do the P.O.K.E.!

Strafe - he's ok, not that excited for him, and is it me or does he have kamina glasses? :???:

Ok one question and why is everyone praising Lugnut and seems to be trashing Grapple?? i don't get it, Grapple is the same as inferno just minor re-tooling here and there, but basically the same figure! And now Lugnut from a totally different line in my point of view, comes in and steals away the glorious victory of Grapple spotlight! Not only that i dont seeing Lugnut fitting in the Genline/Classics at all or any line in my opinion when he's from the animated line to begin with. Sorry for the rant about this, but TFA line is one line i never got into and didn't care for and yes i saw the cartoons and thought they was too childish as well with the toys, but thats me.

I personally love Grapple and Lugnutz. Also Lugnutz isn't Generations he's in the Break the shield (BTS) line. I will be putting lugnutz with my classics just because to me he looks like he will fit since this is a BTS release and not an animated release, after all they're both completely different figures like animated and ROTF Lockdown.
