Preorders are now up for Transformers Magmatron. We have a link to Amazon below buy he should be available at your gavourite online retailer soon. Code Red sold out really quick on Pulse but will be available at Target eventually... maybe (nothing is certain anymore, as seen with SS 102). Official Images for both these reveals are below. For those wondering, Magmatron is 3 prehistoric animals that combine/partsform into one robot. They can also connect to make one chimera like creature, same as the original figure. I personally re envision them combining similarly to the GO! Shinobi and Samurai teams. Just without all three being able to become all three parts of the combined form. So I guess more like Rail Racer. So the top is only the top, the middle is always the middle and the bottom is always the bottom. I also wanted all five combiners in on this too. I go back and forth about adding Magmatron but since he's a multibot and not a combiner, I left him out.
Prowl, Ramhorn, Gekisoumaru, Kenzan and Railspike would all form the arms, upper chest and head. I'd also put Seasaur here if adding in Magmatron.
Silverbolt, Cicadacon, Hishoumaru, Jinbu, Rapid Run and Optimus Exprime would all form the torso and backpack. This is where Skysaur would go.
Ironhide, Sea Clamp, Sensuimaru, Ganoh and Midnight Express all forming the legs and pelvis. Landsaur would be here.
This is the configuration for GoKenzan and GoGekisou as well as Rail Racer. It also mostly lines up with how Magnaboss and Tripredacus work. This way they can all be interchangeable with each other. It can also leave some to be retools of each other too as there's two birds and two trains in the center and two lions on top.
From there they can go on to redeco and retool into existing and new characters for more combinations as you said. Maybe at some point make a Kenzan and Gekisoumaru that form just legs so they can form DaiKenzan and DaiGekisou along with Optimus Exprime. Or just make versions of all seven of them (or all of them in general) that can each become one of the three spots on the combiner. So we can create a three stack combiner with all pieces being the same bot. Kind of like what can be done currently with Hishoumaru.
Each figure only becoming one part of the combiner as it's most likely way too difficult to get them to have all five modes look good. At least this way they's only three modes for each figure. That to me just seems more easily achievable.

Seeing this pic makes me realize something. Despite his name, Big Convoy is actually supposed to be the exact same height as both Lio Convoy and Optimus Primal. If we do get a new updated Big Convoy figure at the correct height he is supposed to be at, then he won't really be as big as his name implies.william-james88 wrote:

I still think Magmatron could have been a tall leader instead of CC, but it is what it is... The toy looks great no doubt about that, but I really wonder how much better it will be than the 1999 original? Hopefully the Generations team has implemented many of the connection tabs they are famous for, to secure parts in place. Still Its hard to imagine a toy I paid maybe $40 (The Takara import at the time) as well as the Beast machines "Dinobots" subline Target exclusive in 2000 for around $25, now paying almost $100 for a slightly improved version... but time will tell.
Also its hard to believe in the series BW Neo, how hardly ever Big Convoy and Magmatron were in the same frame together. Here is one from episode 6. They were so tiny as it was a wide shot. I had to bring them closer together. Keep in mind, Optimus Primal (season 1 version), Lio Convoy & Big Convoy are all approximately the same height. If BC comes up to the middle of Magmatron's chest he isn't that much bigger. About the same as BW Megatron S1 size advantage over Optimus Primal.
Also, I'm sure there are some skirmishes between BC and Magmatron later in the series, but he kind of gets overshadowed by Unicron (using Galvatrons body from the previous series) in the last arc of the BW Neo. Also if you see that Galvatron, keep in mind Unicron has increased his size quite a bit. BW II Galvatron was another bot that was big... but under normal circumstances wasn't giant (he occasionally was hopped up on Algomois which did increase his size on a few occasions).

That was 25 years ago. And now, that 40$ is now 74$, which is pretty close to the Commander price.
I once owned the vintage. It was very fiddly to combine and was pretty much a brick. The new one will be bigger, on scale with the WFC crew, and will pose well. As for the fiddly factor, that remain to be seen.
If you still have your original Magmatron, it will be fun to have pictures comparing the old VS the new.

Unicron was not resurrected in Galvatron's corpse. He was resurrected in an energy body made of his own Angolmois Energy, and which he could physically shapeshift into any form of his choosing. He chose to shape his energy body into the likeness of Galvatron in order to trick Magmatron into thinking that he really was Galvatron and not Unicron. It was part of a ruse. And once that ruse was over, Unicron simply chose to continue keeping his energy body in the likeness of Galvatron just because.

Given those scale charts, I think Big Convoy should be a leader, similar to Beast Megatron in terms of bulk. Plus, he needs the mass of the class for his Big Cannon!
Magmatron really does look incredible. It is possible he can beast out Armada Optimus for best commander.
And, seeing as I own the original, he looks to be a huge step up over the OG. He has pretty much all the same "gimmicks" if you can call them that, while also hopefully being much more sturdy and can actually pose.

We knew a repaint of the core class Volcanicus combiner as Dinoking would be coming, it was hinted at since day 1. But it's nice to finally have that listing though. As assumed, it will be released as one combiner and not individual components/dinos. The listing has it as a Pulsecon exclusive. Speaking of exclusives, we also have an update for Walmart's 2024 exclusive Legacy subline with the addition of deluxe Cannonball. Those listings were found by JTPrime17 along with a listing of a Target exclusive Optimus Prime toy styled in Target colours, the next GI Joe Transformer crossover figure and 2 more classic heroes figures, which are the Rescue Bots styled figures.

If anyone else besides me was holding out on this set in the vain hope for a decent Monstructor, there's an upgrade kit coming for the Volcanicus version that greatly improves it's appearance. To me, anyway. Not sure how the colors would mesh with the Dinoking colors, but here it is.

Did anyone have luck finding all 6 Dinobots at regular retail? It seemed like every Target around me somehow skipped the first pair, so I stopped caring when the other 4 showed up.
Maybe unrelated but stranger: for a week or 2, RotB Core Arcee was in every Target I checked, but apparently street dated and unpurchasable. Never, ever saw one after that, period, so IDK if fast-acting collectors pounced in every store right on said date?

I actually prefer the silver/gold primary colors of the Dinobots myself, so I'm not bothering with Dinoking. I do know that the upgrade kit I put on POTP Volcanicus really remade him into a far more impressive figure and made me regret missing out on upgrades for the other combiners.

I've had more luck finding core class at retail than any other class. For the dinos, the only one I have yet to see is Snarl.

Core Class has been a mess in my area, and both chains that stock them, Walmart and Target, each have the opposite problem: Walmart has older figures moving slowly (SS is stuck at Spike and Ravage, while Legacy is either clearanced out or stuck at Iguanus!!!) while Target is up to date but never seems to stock enough of them. I knew I missed out on Snarl, and the Slug and Sludge re-releases when I only found their final wave mate: the PR Optimus Prime
Hopefully the holiday season will have them stock up more, I want my Mini-Volcanicus!
As for Dinoking, don't pre-order any kits for him yet, as a PulseCon exclusive he may come with accessories Volcanicus lacks, most notably proper feet for the pegholes in Grimlock's and Snarl's waist.

Pulsecon 2024 for Dinoking sounds cool Unfortunate that we have to wait almost a whole year... oh well. I have seen most of the core Dinos at Target, but I ordered online so as to not leave anything to chance. The last wave has repacks of Sludge and Slag as well for those that missed them the first time.
Yes an eventual Monstructor as well would be cool....but what would be even better would be to have new ones down the.lineas deluxe or voyagers to be properly scaled to the animated series.

Interestingly EE canceled my preorder for Beachcomber and is now sold out. BBTS still has it listed for preorder but I'm wondering if they will soon follow suit. Amazon is also sold out but available 3rd party for almost double price. Seems kind of odd as others weren't affected and has me worried since I've not seen it in any stores.

Not for him, but for the inevitable Red Alert repaint.
Cyb Red Alert had one pf the more unique transformations of that line. Scissoring the back and front of the SUV together to form the legs was super original.
Nothing else really interests me from these reveals though.

Had to grab Beachcomber, Axlegrease and Battlemaster Airazor from Amiami. I knew better than to try and preorder from Entertainment Earth. Legacy deluxes are $17.75 (with current exchange rates) before shipping on Amiami. Surprisingly, Earthspark deluxes cost more at $19.01 but they have Nightshade in stock if you were looking for them. Devcon and Crashbar are available as well as those are also going for higher prices some places.
They usually also have some interesting stuff in their used section too but not so much right now. There is that Takara exclusive "leader" class evasion mode Optimus though but it still costs quite a bit. They had the Takara exclusive "leader" Primal but I got him as it was cheaper than actually ording one from Pulse and the Japanese collectors usually keep things in extremely good condition and Amiami doesn't ever really stock things in bad condition.

A point of interest regarding Titan class Cybertron Metroplex. If you get the DNA Design upgrade kit for him, in addition to his Mini-Con, better hands, and (unnecessary, but still kinda nice) gap fillers for his shoulders, you get an extra joint that allows his bucket wheel to raise and lower in vehicle mode. But what's really interesting is that this extra joint provides just enough of an extension to the weapon's length that, when arranged vertically, it becomes roughly the same height as HasLab Unicron.

Why not put Dead End and Wildrider together? I know it might get people to purchase 2 packs, but it might also get people to pass on them.
