"Rescue Bots" (Hub Original Series, working title)
Inspired by the iconic "Transformers" brand, a group of Autobots, too young to protect humanity alongside Optimus Prime and his team, are partnered with a close-knit human family of first responders. Together, they learn teamwork and heroism alongside their new human friends in this animated series produced by Hasbro Studios.

Was anyone else just a wee bit disappointed that this article wasn't about a TF series that was just new to The Hub? i.e. the second of MANY classic TF series that they secured the rights to rerun forever, be it Beast Wars, Animated, or Cybertron? Or for that matter, even G1 season 3 or TFTM?

Maybe since this will be the kiddie cartoon hasbro will have no use for TF prime cancel it and give us a good cartoon thats more for the older crowed. All they need to do is watch gijoe resolute and do the same thing those guys did, its not that hard.
Uh...no. Because Transformers are a kid's toy anyway; so...no.

If they import bad guys to end up generating the needs for rescue missions, the education on how to cause harm is there, and as such, then there's no point in stopping kiddies from watching Prime and therefore no point in this advertisement show.

Prime: 'major' character brutally murdered in first five minutes
Yeah, I can see why Hasbro would try a more kid friendly approach.
Actually, I really love this idea of venerating heroes that don't have to kill anyone. Saving the day needn't involve shooting anyone up.

But kudos to Hasbro for doing it, it'll be a great way to introduce TF's to a younger generation.
Posted by rpetras on March 24th, 2011 @ 7:10pm CDT
I'll let the 3-year old watch it, but only sometimes.
Besides, I like this type of toy for him. He has a lot of the Tonka & Go-Bots lines from a few years back, and they are great for him, as he can transform them himself, and they are pretty much indestructible.

Well, we got to try to kill the franchise somehow.
Posted by MINDVVIPE on March 24th, 2011 @ 7:25pm CDT
On a side note, I still have hopes for a more adult TF series (not that "Prime" doesn't appeal to me), and any reasoning against it doesn't really work since there are so many levels for other fictional shows, like batman, Wolverine, etc etc. (who also sell toys) No reason why there wouldn't be a hope for it in the future. Just gota have more fans mention they want it, then theres a target audience.
A second side note; been rewatching a bit of G1 season 2 lately, and its actually pretty awesome (as in I like it more than I remembered), haha. Its got enough cool stuff going on with hilarious dialogue, I'm really digging it after so long.

It's not YOUR show so quit complaining about it like it IS your show or I'll come to your house, spank your whiny ass and stick you in time out until you learn to start behaving like big boys and can play well with others. Ungrateful spoiled brats!! You should be ashamed, embarrassed and made to eat boiled broccoli for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next week for behaving like that. You've got Prime, you've got the Movies and 25 freaking years worth of TF cartoons to back-track through. Stop dumping on the little childrens show.

Hoping that Optimus and Bumblebee make it into the show since we saw their Robot Heroes toys at Toy Fair 2011.

I'm pretty sure thats one of the main reasons this show is being put on.
I am actually liking that. It means to me that an actual Transformers TV show is almost too mature for kids and is focusing towards the older audience. Maybe more mature shows like Prime is in our future?

They could be portrayed as the bumbling jerks or something like that. A bully. An Oscar-the-grouch type of character. Something more geared toward the kids, but with a bad attitude or something. The Decepticon could set the bad example or do something wrong, but everyone learns from the Decepticon's mistake. It'd be a fun way to integrate characters like Soundwave, Starscream, Shockwave and of course Megatron into a series geared toward the kiddies.

Or like how the villains are done on the Marvel Super Hero Squad show. It's actually cool they are doing a show for the younger audience, my son will love it. He likes Transformers(like his old man, lol) but some of the darker shows(BW,BM,Prime) he won't watch. So I'm sure with this being more vibrant and bright(like most kid's shows) he really enjoy it.

Calm. Down.
1.) DOTM, much like the other movie lines will run at least until Spring 2012, in one form or another. We'll see another subline such as N.E.S.T. or Hunt For The Deceptions that will allow it to continue.
2.) Hasbro has already stated that Generations will run along side DOTM on store shelves and that it's not going anywhere.
3.) Reveal The Shield isn't over yet, it may carry on, it may not, but no one's forcing you to buy Robot Heroes and you'll have plenty of collector oriented items to buy.
Just relax. It's not the end of the world that the kids are getting a show they can actually enjoy.

I'd be game for that, just to see the bad guys get a little attention. Seems like it'd loose kids interest pretty quick if all they did was save kitties out of trees, put out forest fires, and save kids who fell out of a boat.
My 23 month old daughter calls Transformers "Daddy's Mans" or just "Mans". I love it. And she runs around the house yelling "TOP OF THE MOON!" which I think she picked up on from me talking about Dark of the Moon. Or maybe not. That's the only thing we can think of though. And she knows who Orko is from my MOTU collection. That's the only character I've introduced the name to, I'm trying to keep her as innocent as possible which is really difficult considering what a major part of my life Transformers are ... as well as having an entire basement full of these toys.

Hasbro owns Playskool. These will be under the Playskool banner along with the Star Wars and Marvel versions of this line.

Seriously? Your complaining about a franchise that has a show made for kids, that was designed to be aimed at kids in the first place? What if people had that attitude in the 80's? Or even in the 90's when TF were trying to stay alive?
This is a great way to introduce young kids to our hobby, and all you can do is shun it becuase you because it doesn't apeal to you. Unbelievable.
It seriously amazes me that you and other that are putting his series down can be so damn selfish. This behavior is indefensible and you should be ashamed!

THis.
Autobot032, I salute you for having a level head in all of this negativity.
FOr God's sake people, THESE ARE TOYS! you know, for kids? Even the ones we collect were for kids originally! Let the kids enjoy them! If making a TF cartoon movie like GIJoe: Resolute (which was just bad BTW) or the new DC and Marvel animated movies (Ultimate Avengers FTW) is profitable in any way, Hasbro will make it! If it isn't profitable, they won't! That's how business works...and as much as we like to think we have large scale effects on their practices, we DON'T. We stop buying, they don't miss us at all...they just slightly change their marketing strategy and continue making gazillions of dollars by selling to their ACTUAL target audience: kids! We do have to go to the TOY SECTION to buy Transformers figs...they aren't under Housewares or Decorations. If you don't like that a cartoon based on a kid's toy is made for kids, then don't watch it. Period. Just don't continually pine for something that will, in all likelyhood, never come back again. It's a pointless and illogical waste of energy. I suppose it makes you feel better, but I doubt there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth at Hasbro because a few fanboys are ticked that the new cartoon for kids based on kids' toys isn't for adult collectors necessarily.

It is outstanding. Very smooth, aged in charred barrels to give it a smokey flavor, and 5% more alkeehol (45% as opposed to 40%). The color is darker, as well. Highly recommended.
One of these days I need to start an official Seibertron alcoholics thread...just for this type of discussion and for people to post drinky recipes..

Wow sounds funtastic, I will rumage through the local retailers for my mint condition bottle of crown black....
that was lame, haha.
Definitely down to be part of that discussion, mostly coz I have no recipes of my own, haha. Now to save this tangent,
I hope they make some kids games with the Transformers theme, like hungry hungry robos, and its just the most stupid looking heads of megatron and soundwave versus prime and bumblebee as they attempt to eat all the energon balls
