New Transformers Preorders Now Live On Entertainment Earth

I Went back to see the Joe stuff and was interested in the updated Pimp Daddy Profit Director Destro. I was gonna add another Centurion then I was like nope I'm good after seeing the price bump. Already got one plus enough other figures coming out from Pulse in the September to November range. Even canceled Doubledealer as he's mainline ER and should get some sort of a release beyond preorders.

Called it! The instant I saw Hasbro selling the Targetmasters separately I knew that if they could find a way to charge for weapons and accessories that fans would expect to come with characters they'd do so. So, chuck 'em in with a repaint and boost the price another 12-13 bucks, why not? Okay, so you get a fair amount for that extra dough but it just feels like after the gushing movie years everything's now being really nickle-and-dime'd. Quite how they haven't started making their own gap fillers and 'upgrade' sets yet I don't know.

Also, that was one of the most cringey videos I've ever watched. You can spot fake sincerity a mile away and they both had it coming off them in spades, complete with '86 movie nostalgia button-pressing (yawn). The banter and 'jokes'were just so forced. I mean, I work in a corporate environment so I know when things have to be smoothly presented but wow Hasbro needs to find people with genuine charisma to do this kind of stuff? Hire someone like Thew Adams for the next one! (though maybe not for Selects: Not sure he'd be able to be positive about Repaint-a-palooza!

Tiger-Track doesn't appeal to me. Diaclone exists...meh. Nor Corpse Prime (though I am a touch intrigued by the hint of a link to the Netflix series, though if I blink will i miss it?). And a Rotorstorm where they've not even bothered to mold that iconic LSOTW head? I know things are tight economically, guys, but for me if you can't do it right I'd prefer you just don't bother.

AND I'm in the UK so all of this will be more expensive when it reaches our sceptered shores, but that's just what I get for having the sheer folly to exit a birth canal in this geographical location. Try harder next time, Sperm.

The biggest surprise seems to be G1 Blaster where Hasbro went for the least expensive price point for a toy that size: $30. Of course he comes with no casettes, which is like his original release and explains the cheaper price point (he was $20 back in the 80s when first released, making him cheaper than that price adjusted for inflation). The Centurion Drone and Weapons pack is cheaply priced too at only $29.99.

I wouldn't call this negative at all. Highly critical, maybe? But you list your issues well. And I also agree wholeheartedly about the video. I know this whole Zoom meeting and not in person is sorta new but they kept waiting for audience responses that were not coming. Definitely feel bad for my fellow fans in the UK but isn't your pound currently stronger than the dollar?

where as I agree with some of the points of the weapon pack, we finally got megatron in gun mode, so £30 and a bonus siege/battlestar galactica figure with it aint all bad yes roller and the other bits really should have been included with their repsective figures.

Lenny seemed a broad fan and geek, jokes in those things are always going to be forced. I'm all for exclusitivity but Thew Adamas wouldnt be any recomendation to host one (partly because hes a dead ringer for somebody I know that ive seen pics of in a onesy)

Tigertracks seems the best use of the mold yet (and I reallly dont like the mold), rotor storm needed to be rotor storm and not a repaint but fortunately at least he has a g2 toy to track down.

Selects deluxes £20ish at kapow at least for rotorstorm so only £3 more for an exclusive (if getting free p&P by spending £100 plus) isnt that bad, and I'm tight.

Goddammit! Almost 82$CAN shipped for this.

Tigertracks £25 at kapow, import stock so may eventually be cheaper if they or ID can get it direct from hasbro. For that price I'd just go for the KO MP but each to their own.

I really hope so. I didn't expect significant retooling from this but definitely hoped for a new head. It looks like Rotorstorm's headless body took Pyro's head off his corpse.

I stupidly missed out on the Select Spy cassettes pack. So no way am I gonna miss out on the weapon pack. Plus at least Silver Brunt look nice and justify the shipping cost a bit.

Like the total dweeb consoomer I am I ended up getting Tigertrack and Rotorstorm because 'obscure nobodies repaint' are my jam. And before all the IDW people jump at me, Rotorstorm absolutely was in that category and arguably still is a nobody compared to other characters!

Looks like the Energon cubes will have 5mm posts so they can be properly held.

Are there any sites with international shipping that usually carry the Pulse exclusives? Or are those of use who live in the "wrong" continent screwed?

Was never a fan of the Spinister mold, never understood why people went so nuts over it, so for Rotorstorm to just be a straight repaint, majorly disappointed.

Good thing it'll be too over priced and hard for me to get anyway, so that eases the disappointment.

Yep, jumping on Hasbro Pulse pre-orders has some nice advantages in that they occasionally screw up the initial price. I got all of wave 2 of Siege Deluxes at $9.99 each when Pulse first put them up. I think Ectotron had a similar initial price mistake. It even happened with Siege wave 1 back when it was HasbrToyShop. The mistake price does tend to sell out/get fixed quickly.

Also, the description for Blaster says he stands at 4.5 inches tall. Pretty sure the original toy was quite a bit taller than that. Being a smaller version, do the G1 cassettes fit?

I got to watch part of the display earlier today on my phone, was excited to hear about Rotorstorm, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Really? No new head?

I'm excited for the accessories, that made the Centurion worth getting. And I got them at the $19.99 price too.

Tigertrack looks nice, but is a pass for me. I've already got 2 of the exact mold and a 3rd that is only slightly different in the head, I don't need a 4th.

I'm wondering if we're in for another Prime Fist scenario? I really hope they do his proper head. He's simply not Rotorstorm without the Brett Hart shades.

While I'm happy to be getting the Centurion pack with the accessories, am I the only who feels it was a missed opportunity to include pile drivers for the microcassettes for Rumble and Frenzy?

Ironically enough, the only thing I found remotely interesting from this reveal was the GI Joe Classified Cobra Commander. Although he does seem in need of an alternate hooded head.

None of the TF reveals did anything for me and the RED things are completely redundant, in light of existing model kits and figures.

The Centurion Drone doesn't have a number, and we know Hubcap is coming- let's just say that takes up another two slots... that still leaves GS15-GS17 unaccounted for so far.

Any ideas on who they might be?

There was a discussion on this with more detail in the Selects thread, but the Listing for Centurion doesn't actuallt say Selects like the others. The general line of thinking is that he might be similar to the Reflector 3-pack that was not numbered and not part of Selects.

Man, can I just get Tigertrack already? He looks sick!

Any ideas on who they might be?

There was a discussion on this with more detail in the Selects thread, but the Listing for Centurion doesn't actuallt say Selects like the others. The general line of thinking is that he might be similar to the Reflector 3-pack that was not numbered and not part of Selects.

You know it would have been a good time to reveal BumbleBee since most of the accessories are his. Hasbro my boy what are doing hes in the siege show too. I think they might kill him off on show.

Following on from yesterday's Fan First Friday, fellow Seibertron users, Blackeyedprime and Callum Martin, have let us know that the revealed Centurion Drone and weapon pack will be exclusive to In Demand Toys for those in the UK. He is priced at £30. They have Pre-Orders open now for him and state he'll start shipping in August.

Centurion is a redeco of Siege Brunt, whose design was inspired by Centurion from the IDW miniseries Transformers: Stormbringer. The weapons pack features a host of G1 nods, like Sideswipes jet pack, Prime's roller, and Megatron in his G1 Gun form, waiting for Starscream to come along and wield him.

No order limits either which is cool but ones enough for me, lots of accessories for figures I dont have the tiny optimus might get used as an oscar (but even then it may be too small) kinda weird that it is to with unicron when he was taking a nap at the time.

Oh like you wouldn't be paying $30 or more buying half that from third parties, instead of the extra $10 it is here.
Are you talking about them not including the additional accessories with the figures to begin with? That's just the same cheaping out on CHUG accessory counts for the sake of uniform profit margins that they've been doing since Classics began in 2006. This is the first time they've offered any official option to supplement that, and these accessories were almost certainly created after the molds were cut, in response to fan demand.

Or are you just annoyed at the weapons only being sold with the Centurion drone instead of on their own?

@Zerohour these extras are the things that plastic limits denied us, so the fact we're getting them at all is good. Certainly easier then trying to get the company to revise business practices and allowances

And for fuck's sake, it's not them deliberately trying to bilk us. Get over it already. The limited accessories has been a thing for as long as CHUG has existed, because Hasbro has always been about uniform profit margins on figures. It's the same reason mold hollows happen. Most fans are aware of this, have managed to get this through their heads that that's just how it works. And in the past couple years, we've been saying "You're only going to give each figure so many accessories because of plastic limits? Fine, we get it. So how about selling packs of weapons then?"

That's what this pack is in response to. And $10 for that many weapons is much more bang for buck than you get buying 3P.
