Honestly? I LOVE Soundwave. I'm sure part of it is my lasting affinity for WfC/FoC-style designs, but I adore basically every single thing about this guy (aside from the neck-plate...).

Ah yes, you're right, that's the only detractor of the toy for me, but somehow I can kinda get past it. Most of my figures are in robot mode most of the time anyway. Even still, would it have cost them so much money to put a hinge on the hands so they fold in?

I am glad that they at least acknowledged Starscream's new look rather than have us just pretend that his new look was just his Prime look run through an aesthetic filter like with Bumblebee's and Optimus's RID looks (and I'm especially glad that they were able to tie in back in with his WFC/FOC look, as a nice subtle nod to that era of the timeline).

But yeah, since we saw Soundwave in his Prime design in this show before, his new look is gonna need some sort of concrete onscreen explanation.

I still like to think that Bee got an upgrade to explain his look and that Prime's look is an afterlife remodel or something.

Starscream's new look is great and much nicer then the skinny frail and dull colored Prime look I just don't understand why Starscream would "upgrade" from a clearly Superior armor design to his weak inferior Prime armor unless he was forced to.

I can't tell you that's wrong, but what I can tell you is that Ultra Bee is a solid combiner, that has a unique look that makes it stand out. Quite the clever combiner. I was afraid the entire thing would be extremely hollow and cheap. This might become a buy solely for the purpose of standing next to rid Galvatronus. Also, isn't this technically a 7 bot combiner, since jetstorm and slipstream because the "core" of the sword

How did they go backwards from Power Core Combiners? At least each core figure was a fully functioning Transformer. Not to mention that the combined modes actually had some decent articulation. They could also be upgraded with Minicons as well.

If they had just upgraded the PCC limbs into what they have here (or rather Menasor and Galvatronus) but kept the base figure style from PCC, these would've been awesome instead of just somewhat cool.

Minicon upgradable, articulated combined modes made from a complete base Transfromer with simple robot mode limbs that don't autotransform into horribly mismatched spindly messes.

I love combiners so I'll pick these up but they're not a priority. At least for me though, Power Core Combiners are much better overall. Especially when you mirror the drones to make the limbs work better as some limbs (legs especially) don't mix with well others.

Ultra Bee looks really cool, and there are some really clever things happening with Grimlock and Bee. I really do like it, and I can't wait to get it myself!

Pass on that one, but "Menasor" looks promising!

Agreed. I don't collect RiD but I may pick up Menasor.

Just watched the review; that's quite the clever transformation on Bee - comes out really clean and it looks fun to do. If only it was a little more articulated I might have wanted it...

We had in box images for Transformers Robots in Disguise Activator Optimus Prime & Hi-Test, which was our first look at the figure and the first time we even knew it was coming. Thanks to Scotty P, we now have official images to get a better look at this two pack and how it looks in both modes. This image was found on a hidden Amazon listing.

I hope somewhere gets the RID (Hotwheels like) cars of the newer kind as the Grimlock-mobile is fun and i'd like to get one (since they use that design across their product line) - I may even get that bigger remote control one just for the car mode too - as it's daft.

Found on the cross-sell section of Combiner Force Menasor's box by fellow Seibertron user chuckdawg1999, we bring to you the first image of the Crash Combiner Shocknado toy! First found on the Robots in Disguise app a few months ago, this is the first time we're seeing the character in toy form and it is currently not known who they're combined from, but feel free to speculate on the boards after taking a look at the picture below!

Shocknado is a redeco/retool of Skyhammer it looks like. I'm expecting the individual names to be "Shockblast" and "Tornado", or something among those lines.

What's odd is that Shocknado's 2D artwork is the same as Riotgear's art from the Galvatronus set.

2 Combiners that are pretty good. Each offers something a little bit different and both pull it off well. I think I like Ultra Bee a bit more, but Menasor is no slouch. They both look cool!

Motormaster looks kinda cool, and Menasor is nice. But the limbs are weaker than I expected. Still on the fence on this.

i really like the design of the characters they look really good as combiners
i hope someday they would release these that arent so simplified

We knew that new stock pictures of Activator Soundwave would come soon enough, once we fond the Optimus images the other day. We have them now and you can see the finished product that should be appearing in stores later this summer. These images, found on Amazon, show what happens when you plug in Laserbeak into the vehicle mode. Enjoy!

The dispenser does seem like it is meant to look like Optimus Prime is shooting bubbles out of his mouth when in use. Hopefully this will encourage kids to use soap rather than create a mess by launching foam all over.

I spent the majority of my time while writing that article trying not to laugh at the idea of Prime barfing up soap bubbles. Glad I'm not the only one.

If you like KO and Breakdown I'd recommend reading the windblade comics. They become conjunx edura.

Just found at Target in CT. The packaging datestamp is 70161, the same as the plate-less version on the pegs with him.

It's a new addition to the plastic of his face.

Took me a bit to find it but someone on Tfw2005 added some silver paint to his soundwave on the face where it was raised up and itseems to match the faceplate variant So I am sure it is paint like people suggested
