The most interesting aspect of these pictures, though is the fact that we have some differences from the at show samples shown off last month at New York Comic Con (NYCC 2019). The hands now appear to be painted blue. They were unpainted gray plastic at the show in October. The eyes are also now painted blue, instead of yellow as in the initial Hasbro stock renders and at show samples. The lower square on Optimus Prime's pelvis is also now painted blue, a detail that is often missed in G1 Optimus Prime releases. What is unclear is if these paint additions are new operations being done at the factory to increase the screen accuracy of the figure, or if the person who procured this figure customized it with additional paint before posting pictures. It may be a while before we can solve that mystery, but until then, take a look at the photos below!
You can compare these new pictures of Earthrise Optimus Prime to the ones from our own Seibertron.com Galleries, taken at the New York Comic Con this past October 2017. Click on the image below to be taken to our gallery, which also includes the rest of the new Earthrise releases slated for the first wave of product!
Are you more excited than ever for Transformers Generations: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise Leader Class Optimus Prime? Do you think these additional blue paint applications are legitimate production changes or a fan showing off some customization skills? Let us know in the forums and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news on all things Transformers!

Terrsolpix wrote:I don’t have it in hand and can’t say this is 100% the case, but the back of the head is painted the same blue as the hands and pelvis. I highly doubt a customizer would put any superfluous paint there unless it was factory applied.
You know what? I think you're right about the head being painted, at least the back of it. This picture from the Seibertron.com galleries of NYCC 2019 shows that this was likely the case even at the show, though the hands were left unpainted then. Take a look!

Also just a reminder for those who preffer shopping online, Bluestreak is now up on Walmart.ca for $29.99, which is the standard price of deluxe toys in Canada (it comes out to $23 USD). For those wanting all three, Prowl is rather easy to find at both Toysrus and Walmart stores in Canada while Smokescreen is still available at Toysrus.ca.

And remember that you can share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

william-james88 wrote:I think the Siege Prime has a much better robot mode than Earthrise prime. That's a Prime I simply wont be needing.
Each mold has its own pros and cons. Siege does look better proportioned, particularly in the torso and pelvis. Plus, it hides the back wheels in robot mode. Earthrise, though, doesn't stick the front wheels on the "love handles," has no arm kibble, adds articulated hands, and has better smokestacks. I'm giving the edge to the Earthrise figure because it has the classic truck cab alternate mode, not a stylized "Cybertronian" truck mode, and it has cleaner paint apps. You pick your poison with the Siege version's paint jobs, either battle damage silver paint smears or weird "cel shaded" paint effects. If there were a version available with just screen accurate apps and no gimmicks, I'd be very tempted to keep that as my display piece. Also, looking at MP-44, Earthrise Optimus does seem to be more or less in proportion with the animation model (long legs, short torso), which may be what they were going for. MP-10 engineering cues with MP-44 proportions and Siege levels of sculpted detail and greebling all at the Voyager scale.

And am still annoyed at how they released the cell shaded figures afterwards.

That is actually one of my favorite parts about Siege prime. That and hiding the back wheels in the legs make Siege Prime my favorite of the whole line. That transformation is just plain fun.

Casing of the lower legs, and the feet.

Indeed. Typically Prime and Bumblebee are always shelfwarmers over here.

Honestly, the proportions of Earthrise Prime almost seem more in line with the cartoon and MP-44, with the longer legs and squatter torso. I think I like it, possibly even better than Siege Prime's porportions.

These should be out soon within the new year. There is of course the final wave of Siege to see on shelves first. All of these Earthrise figures have been available on preorder at a myriad of places online like BBTS, TFSource, Entertainment Earth and Amazon, just to name a few. And the prices are the same per size class as they were in Siege.

Oh I get it! You're constantly pandering to the cartoon accuracy jerks as usual. You're just too damn cheap & lazy to include 2 heads? You can include multiple heads with Marvel Legends all the time but not with Transformers? You just can't include a cartoon accurate head + a toy accurate head? You're never ever going to make a Wheeljack figure with a toy accurate head for me? Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! Now why don't you go raise the prices again. Isn't it about time we start paying $29.99 for deluxe class? JERKS!!!

On some episodes, Grapple's head was yellow. Guess they picked one, but they seem to be leaning 'cartoon' with this line.

You, uh, doing okay over there? Do you want to talk about it? I used to argue with Hasbro subsidiaries too, but not since I changed my anti-depressant.

To be fair he has a point, transformers is borrowing effects parts and the build a figure ideas from the marvel legends figures so hopefully they will include multiple heads at some point.

Completely different costs and engineering. They only have that they are toys in common.

Grapples arms with the hollow/hands faced upwards in vehicle mode is a bit urk, hoping the potential inferno does it differently or that that it works with the arms rotated. I'll probably end up picking one up to display in vehicle mode next to the MP with the classics figure being my main toy bot.

Again he’s not here to have conversations, not here to be part of a community or any community. Just throw fits, blame whoever he feels like, leaves, waits for another site to post the same news and say the same stuff and leave because he’s a nut job and gets off on it.

Interestingly, it says that Grapple and Soundbarrier are going to be TakaraTomy Mall exclusives in Japan instead of mass retail figures (like how they will be in Hasbro's version of the line).

The great thing about RTS vs Earthrise Grapple is that he didn't look like his G1 mold much like this new mold. I'm just sayin'...'nuff said!

Soundbarrier looks awesome, pending the inevitable con repaint with purple clear plastic which will be a must buy.
Cant wait to see some con baseformers. The lack of weaponizers needs to be addressed on the con side.

I'm right there with you. It isn't like the other weapon battlemasters had amazing transformations or anything, but at least there is a little more than "fold the ramp in 1/2".
