it's not the size that counts. it's how they wear it.

Exactly! Gundams come in a wide array with similar shoulder pannels.
Now take the time between season 2 and the movie, the Decepticons have Cybertron. I would think that during times of inactivity, or political prestiege, The Seekers, SoundWave, ShockWave, and the rest of Megatron's inner circle would have some type of statly dress.
Now, I can order 4 of these and pay to much for that. OR I can get 1 leaving StarScream unique with a crown, then some Gundam parts for the others giving each a style of their own with additional weapons.
Don't ask me why, but Zaku round shoulder with the spike is just screaming ThunderCracker to me.
As for the capes, felt is cheap enough.

We all know at some point they wil do a ThunderCracker, and hence redo this set. When that happens, Grey Seeker Bitch Drone can go without, but for now, he's stand in ThunderCracker, and I don't want him left out
I should have just ran with the gundam idea.

I was figuring we where gonna get shafted for at least $50, since the CJ set was $30(plus another $30 to ship). Hopefuly though this will be a good sign that the Magnus set will be more afordable than not.
Oh, and no, Skywarp isn't going to wear his crown. He could just back hand StarScream and tell him to shut up, but that only works for a little while and he'd just rather not hear him whine.

If that seems cold towards BBTS, I've been noticing alot more price gauging from them in the past year than ever, and it keeps getting worse. They are a great source for online toy shopping, but they are also getting to expensive(a nice way to say greedy) for their own good. I've been using them alot less as of late.

There is some truth to that actually.
Their prices have been rising. I don't know if I should condemn them though, there are a LOT of cost factors messing with retailers right now.

15 or 20 isn't there or there for me. but I curious as to what is typical.

I checked my preorder section and they are marked at $15 still. I'm kicking my self for not ordering dupes now, but I'm sure some auction, or another site will come through for me.
But this is what I'm saying about this site, yesterday the set cost $15, word got out that it was up for grabs and alot of preorders where placed stat, they jacked it up in under 12 hours.
Can I blame them for it, no. Can I see a reason for it other than seeing that they got us, no, and that right there sucks!
Sayes alot for fair play. I can't hekp but notice that any figure or set that we show intrest in gets a quick and higher mark up. Another case in point is Classics CliffJumper, the figure last week was $14. Even though it's not being sold by them, the Classics CJ upgrade set is arriving at doorsteps, and suddenly that fig went up to $23.
Once again, can I blame them...

If anyone else wants to order it at a cheaper price, at the time of this message, digital-toys.com still has it at $19.99 .

Stormrider wrote:This is terrible business ethics to raise the pre-order price twice in one week. Shameful.
I agree. Sadly, though, that is always the way it is with collectibles, no matter the genre. My ex-husband had the same issues with sports memorabilia....They would put something new out, with a random price on it, and watch the pre-orders roll in, and as the numbers get higher, so does the price....and twice in one week is kinda typical, at least with sports crap.

I realize the solution - if you don't like their practice don't shop there. But overall, I am flabbergasted with this type of practice.

I never realized they were doing this kind of thing. I mistook what people were saying as a gradual price increase to meet rising costs.

I've been watching BBTS for a while now, and especialy since the movie, I'm sure they're watching forums and pricing towards fan intrest.
I apreciate this site cause they do offer a wide array of product, however I also condem them for flat out charging unessicary rape dollars whenever they think they can get away with it. This is not an isolated event, if it was I wouldn't be so peeved. However this seemes to be happening whenever we say "yeah" to something.
We ALL need to make money, but seriously, screw you BBTS for taking advantage of fans loyal patrionage!

That happened to me a couple times with import items. Domestic, not so much, but on imports especially one off items like this, it can happen.
I'm ordered at the $25 price tag but that's OK since that is what the set is worth to me (I placed my order before I read the discussion and knew it had been cheaper).
Oh well, it won't be the first time I paid $10 too much for something, and sadly it probably won't be the last. Pile of loot option means at least I'll save a bit on shipping.

Sunstar wrote:Holy slag. that's sleezy. 25 now? is that because people want it?
More than likely. That is so typical for collectibles! The more pre-orders that get made, the higher the price shoots up for those that hesitate to place that order! Capitalism can sometimes be ignorant like that!
