It was back in July when we first saw a prototype for the upcoming Flame Toys Tarn figure, and now we finally have more word about it's release. Coming as a tweet from the official Flame Toys Twitter account, we not only get an additional shot of Tarn, but also confirmation that we will be seeing more in regards to him at the upcoming TOYSOUL 2017 event in Hong Kong this upcoming weekend. If any news is broken from that event, you'll be sure to hear about it here on Seibertron.com!

Take a look at the new image they provided below, and then tell us if you are interested in picking up this non-transforming figure in the future, or if you'll wait to see more. One of the largest critiques of their previous Transformers figure, Drift, was the large price tag. It will be interesting if that changes at all with their new figure, Tarn.

Back in July, we saw sketches of some of products - both shown off in prototype form and not - by non-transforming action figure license-holding makers Flame Toys, who have come back into the news cycle recently with a teaser for their IDW Tarn (late leader of the late Decepticon Justice Division) figure, seen here.

As they announced, they will be attending this weekend's Hong Kong event Toysoul 2017, and it looks like someone took photos during show set up and we found that not only Tarn is ready to be shown off in full colour, but we also get a white prototype of the Star Saber figure, reminding us all that yes, Primus does indeed hate us. Check out the images below via Twitter user DkunDX and Ben Lai of HKTF!

That Drift and Tarn were both really nice, but I didn't feel I needed either of them. But this. THIS!

It's nice to see my favorite character get some love besides the masterpiece, and I don't care HOW MUCH I have to pay, Imma buy this sucker!

Now that you mentioned it, you have a point. Something always bothered me about Star Saber, and I think you just hit the nail on the head.

You may remember that we posted news about Flame Toys prototype Star Saber figure the other day. We just found out that ToysWalker posted some wonderful images of the upcoming Flame Toys Transformers figures that are on display at TOYSOUL 2017. These Transformers are heavily stylized from the IDW continuity and they are entirely non-Transforming figures. The selection ranges from fan favorites, with a lean towards Autobots, such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Hound, Drift, and Star Saber. The two Decepticons in the line up are the traitorous Starscream and the Decepticon Justice Division Leader and otherwise fan favorite, Tarn.

Flame Toys has a booth at the current TOYSOUL 2017 event in Hong Kong. What stands out about these incarnations that while some are clearly action figures others are in fact super detailed models! Starscream in this case would be a model kit in fact. The images are mirrored below and also link to Toyswalker's extensive gallery from the TOYSOUL 2017 event.

Seems to be some movie influence with the weapons. Bumblebee's got a hammer and Hound is festooned with weaponry, including a combat knife and minigun.

Overpriced statues that look like Gundams. Sorry not paying for statues. They :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: are called Transformers for a reason...but hey what do I know 3rd party has done better so far than this. But I know wayward fans will praise this mess. Have at it hoss!!

My only real complaint about Starscream is I prefer his null rays on his upper arms, not that far up his shoulder. Otherwise he reminds me of an even more G1 version of the RID design.

Not crazy about Prime, not sure sure what kind of truck he'd turn into with windows like that. I have no idea what's going on with BB. Why the emphasis on showing off his tires and why are his tires bigger than Prime's?

I like Prime's axe and Bee's hammer. Hound actually looks pretty sweet too.

Still not the foggiest why they would do an IDW Star Saber, who only showed up in 3 issues I think so far. I mean, Milne's design for him was cool, but still

Flame Toys has been busy over the past few weeks with new reveals for action figures and model kits alike, and today, we bring to you news of yet another teaser, shown off on their Twitter page. The new teaser is for their Kuro Kara Kuri 04 Optimus Prime action figure, part of the same line that includes Tarn, Star Saber, and Drift. Optimus appears to keep the trend of his predecessors with his super detailed and stylized look. It is also notable that this is the first major Transformers character that Flame toys is tackling outside of the IDW comics designs, seeing as how Tarn is only know to his IDW comics appearances, Star Saber is big in Japan but the statue uses his IDW design, and Drift is a relatively recent character who started in the IDW comics and is based on his appearance in said comics.

It is important to note that this is an action figure, and not the model kit that was previously revealed at Toysoul.

Check out the teaser below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments section below!

Kumastyle, a figure review website, got their hands on the new Flame Toys Transformers 01 Drift (Kuro Kara Kuri), a non transforming premium collectable figure.

They have given us both a video review and pictorial review. You can see all the accessories which include eight pairs of hands additional faces and the coolest sword ever:

The part that I found the most cool of all of the accessories is the hilt gimmick on Drift’s larger sword where you push the handle in and the hilt expands while changing the color of the orb in the center (shown in the video portion.)

Below is the overal score Kumastyle gives the figure, along with a video review followed by several images from their pictorial review which can be seen fully here.

Overall Score: 9.9/10 – As stated above, I have a very strong bias towards non-transforming homages that focus on look, build, and articulation like this piece does, so take that as you will. However, regardless of your preference on whether or not Transformers toys need to “transform,” there’s no denying that this Drift piece not only delivers but absolutely excels in what it aims to do. Flame Toys not only gave themselves a big, extravagant introduction into the world of Transformers collectibles but gave consumers an amazing piece to close out the year with.

Drift looks awesome! Although the only real way you can tell that it is a transformer and not a gundam is the autobot symbol.

While we wait for more news to come from the New York Toy Fair 2018 floor and presentations, we have a teaser from Flame Toys (distributed by Bluefin in the US) and their upcoming model kits - of which we previously saw Optimus Prime and Starscream - courtesy of Twincast Mainframes regular guest Mr Starscream!

The models, after the Autobot Leader and Decepticon second-in-command, will apparently feature the likes of Hound and Bumblebee, with some interesting accessories for both! Respectively, Hound will have his shoulder cannon and more guns and blades than his live-action Age of Extinction counterpart, while Bumblebee also borrows from Paramount and ILM, and will include a heli rotor, a hammer, and plenty of attitude. Check it out below, and expect more images over the weekend here at Seibertron.com!

model kits cant say i saw that coming, i am interested though especially in starscream but the real question is whats the price and quality like? Are these going to be as good as the stuff bandai puts out or will they be cheaply made & overpriced like everything else hasbro does?

Liking all of these so far, Hound will probably look better in color and even if his torso isn't as square as I would like it to be, it will look good anyway. Bumblebee looks a bit odd compared to the others with a more G1 look but no complaints from me about that.

We return to the Javits Center in New York City to bring you more images from the showroom floor, as megatronus and Seibertron are roaming the area to cover more licensed products featuring Transformers!

First up is an addition to yesterday's post about Flame Toys' (distributed by Bluefin in the US) upcoming model kits and non-transforming action figures, as shown with their beautifully painted and poseable (and expensive) Drift. The former, priced around $30 USD, currently feature Optimus Prime and Starscream, along with Hound and Bumblebee in the future, while the latter sees grey prototypes of IDW character interpretations of Tarn and Star Saber. Take a look below!

Exactly, 'the former'. Referring to the first of the two things in the previous sentence, also then explained after the comma: the model kits of Starscream and Optimus Prime.

This was apparently not clear enough, as other have pointed out, so I apologise for the unintentional confusion!

Flame Toys presents us with some photographs of Tarn via their Twitter page. This figure is a highly detailed, non transforming collectible. It appears that this figure will be poseable and in images below you will notice that a lot of intricate sculpting went into this work of art. Flame Toys figures of this type run about 300$ each. Before the colors had been finished, Tarn's prototype was displayed at ToySoul 2017 in Hong Kong. Fans of IDW's More Than Meets The Eye and Lost Light comics should be familiar with Tarn as the powerhouse of the DJD. If you have not already read IDW the comics, we highly recommend checking them out.

That does look really nice, but not being able to transform at that price does take half the fun out of it. What we need is a proper IDW Masterpiece line from Hasbro. Or better yet it would be nice if Hasbro stopped being self conscious and let a third party (not a "third party" but a real licensed one) make some Transformers that transform for a change.

That is really nice, when a figure looks that good it doesn't need to transform! (In my opinion at least :-) I understand that others would prefer it to transform.

Unfortunately, the absence of Transformation renders this item ineligible for inclusion in my collection, but holy fudgepacked fistula, it sure is pretty!

That looks really, really nice, but...eh. The MMC one looks almost as good for a much lower price, and it transforms. Plus IIRC even the IDW production crew love that figure.

I will say though if I had money to burn I would grab him, transformation or not. The paint on that thing is astounding.

Meanwhile Hasbro could've made a decent Tarn using TR Blitzwing or TR Galvatron's mold (or his own mold) last year.

Instead they'd rather be greedy renting the name out to 3P companies. So here are the controversial ironies about highly coveted CHUG TF figures that are putting me off as a collector.

-Hasbro gives the name of Tarn to a 3rd party company with crazy articulation but no transformation, yet has a price tag close to $400.

-Hasbro makes a long awaited Shockwave that's Voyager class size under this cheap Cyber Batallion line with barely no articulation.

This isn't a 3rd party figure. Flame Toys is officially licensed.

Even so, I do wish we would get official toys of the DJD, but considering they are a torture squad and only ever have been, kinda hard to justify as a toy
