Yep, the height is wrong. So much for the show accurate scaling. I'd imagine they couldn't justify charging more than Optimus Primal for a figure that should be about the size of Rattrap

Yup, your absolutely right. She should be just a bit shorter then cheetor. Images in the video make her look about the same height as primal. This kinda bothers me more so then the legs in beast mode. but we are still looking at a hand painted prototype. so it could still (unlikely) change. it could be a trick of the camera angle too.
I'm still getting her. Her robot mode is fantastic and shes my fave BW character, so it is kinda obligatory to do so. But for her not fit in with the others the right way on my shelf is not great.

It's possible they couldn't make the figure any smaller and still retain the spot-on robot mode, level of articulation, and what passes for the beast mode. To keep everything proportional, you're going to have to scale down everything, even the smallest of joints, so everything looks right. Parts that are too small will break from normal usage, so they have to be a certain minimum size. That's a tall order for a character that has such curvy proportions on such a slender frame. Otherwise, a different piece will have to be engineered which may detract from the figure aesthetically or limit its poseability or functionality. In other words, Masterpiece Blackarachnia may be the smallest she can be and still be worthy of the "Masterpiece" name.

Man, I really like the looks of the figure. Compromises kinda suck, but are easily overlooked. That price though.... way too much. I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $80. Ah well, we are finally getting a KO of Dinobot, so I can hope for this dark poison of a birddog's heart.

I would not pay the $140 for it, but $115 is much better. And I'm still hoping the price drops a bit more. I think it's an OK price. And I doubt I'll get another MP BW figure. I'm perfectly happy with the rest of my figures that are on the shelf.

Saying it's available on amazon is always big news since not everyone reads the forums (and other vendors get their own sponsor news story). Can any of you take a screen shot of your order on amazon, showing the shipping charge and total price so that we can news it?
thanks

I don't have time right now to write this, but here's my PO if anyone else on staff wants to.
That's with a 25% discount and the sales tax removed. Should be noted that the based price for stores is 16,500 JPY instead of the Takara Tomy Mall price of 16,200 JPY meaning TTM got a rare discount (that still isn't close to the discount normal retailers have). There is a chance of the Amazon price still coming down since it's covered by the pre-order price guarantee.

we'll probably never get MPs beyond season 1, which is a shame. Though I feel that if we do get a single MP BW past season 1, it would be Silverbolt.
I wish we could get a MP Tigerhawk though

Yeah, about the only non-Season 1 BW character who has any kind of chance of getting a MP figure under normal circumstances (that is, without outside-of-TakaraTomy help from something like a fan vote) is Lio Convoy.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If only Japan actually cared about Beast Wars Metals.00Stargrave00 wrote:...now I keep thinking of a MP Silverbolt...that would be rad...

Depends on if you late willing to look outside of "official" channels. Not much yet, but they are starting to branch in that direction.

yeah yeah, Amazon japan ships all over the world now. it's relatively new. And ridicuously cheap.

Also, any Canadians received anything from Amazon JP? got any mandatory custom fees?
Because Mandarake stuff is completely invisible to customs, no matter the value.
Anyone who don't know, Canada charge all the taxes PLUS an extra 10$ just because for the custom fees.

Dude, even the mandatory taxes are cheap, give it a go. Just try it out and see how much it comes out to before you pay. It will be cheaper than mandarake and it will be brand new. I have been doing it for all MP releases since the service was available.

Well, I'll see to it when I'll have actual money to spend.
I just bought a little something last week-end that ate away all of my toy budget for the next two-ish month... Including the Comiccon goodies budget... and one week of paid vacation instead of taking it...
By the time I recover from that purchase, I'll see to getting Blackie. I'm in no hurry because there will be plenty of her around when the time come. Amazon Japan look like a very interesting new hunting ground.

I had only ONE bad experience. I ordered a small item from Mandarake's Fukuoka. They sent me the thing in a small envelope. When I received it, it was ONLY the packing slip! Then I noticed that the "envelope" that I received used to be stuck on the actual envelope that had the item in it. Both got separated on the way somehow because they were just barely sticking on each others. My item was lost in the mail forever.
Lemme tell you, receiving only the receipt and never getting the thing suck.
It took me a month and a half of procedure to finally had Paypal settle the case and get my 37K yen back.
Still, that was the only bad case. But I think it's a store-to-store basis.
----------------------
ONE thing I don't like about Amazon (appart the mandatory taxes) is the fact that they just leave the package on your door if you're not there. Most of the time. This make your item easy target for theft.
The ship insanely fast, yes, but there's some items I really don't want just sitting on my porch.

Amazon Japan uses a different shipper for international items, they use DHL and DHL will send you a text asking you exactly where you want them to leave the item. You can also tell them you don't want it left at your door.
That's another advantage to Amazon Japan.

They use DHL yet the DHL shipping is CHEAP?
What kind of sorcery is this?
Call me annoying but the DHL shipping price is ludicrously expensive on Mandarake and that's why I didn't order anything from them when Canada Post was on kinda-strike. DHL was the only thing available for a while and I nope'd.

Exactly. Had a damaged shipment one time and even though Mandarake was very good about it, my local post office had no idea how to handle international claims. Literally had to Google it for them. And in the end it took me three months to get my refund.
