Appearantly Dr. Wu will not go unchallenged in the Hound VS Ravage department. Images have appeared on Asian toy sight Toyspie.com of a set from MGS featuring a new rifle for Hound that stoes under the vehicle mode, a gas can, and a set of G1 inspired missles for Ravage. No hint at price or availability at this time. An interesting CG render of a cassette showed up as well, could this be a potential 3rd party Raindance? For more pics just follow this link or click on one of the pictures below.

Hmm, the gas tank is a nice little touch, but just like the other set... the gun is kind of boring, and I'd rather just use Ravage's G1 missiles.

Sheesh...

3 different people doing this set and nobody wants to touch the godamn shoulder cannon ! :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

So far the best looking set goes to Dr. Wu. 2nd place goes to Renderform.

I don't think so, looking at those panel lines, it doesn't look like you can get a jet out of that cassette, I might be proven long later though. :-?

If you'll click on the pic of the tape, you'll see some additional pics of it tranformed. It appears to be some sort of jet or possible a bird. The colors make it pretty hard to tell.

Doesn't really look like a jet OR a bird. I don't know WHAT that's supposed to be.

Cassette bot looks kind of like a fruit bat when transformed. The cannons on the front even remind me of the odd nose they have.

Man, I wish 3rd Parties would stop trying to directly compete with each other... Oh well, healthy competition perhaps? This one does look better than the Dr Wu set anyway.

I'm going to wait for Renderform on the Ravage/Hound set. Nothing else but customer loyalty I think.

I think that cassette looks like it may be Steeljaw, but only half transformed. Time will tell

Diggin the Fuel Tanks, and the gun looks nice attached to the vehicle...although I prefer the Halo Warthog style chain gun idea :-?

Like the new gun. The one that actually comes with Hound barely sticks on his shoulder, so I have to display him holding it instead of it shoulder-mounted. :-(

Great! More unoriginal thinking from 3rd party companies. Not only are they producing the same sets, but they're producing the same pointless and uninspiring sets. (I wonder who's going to step up and take on Dr. Wu's Metroplex eye.) If you're going to copy someone else at least improve on their designs, don't make one that looks worse.

It seriously worries me that while we're getting numerous identical products from these 3rd party newbs, the Dons at FansProject haven't been heard from since the release of Backfiery. We haven't even had any new info since the Heartmaster photos released in the summer. Bad times.

Don't call me out on this but I also think the tape's a (deliberately) half-transformed Steeljaw.

You can see four paws, a tail and those cool wings he had on his hips, rendered here in sky blue. Dunno why the pics are so messed up though. Jet mode? :P

The lack of FP has me a little concerned too. They launch this seemingly interactive website http://www.fansprojectcore.com and then nothing. I have been participating in a one man Occupy Fansproject. I post everyday to their boards waiting for some response. NOTHING. I am the 99%

FP is one of the companies where, when it rains, it pours. They post a deluge of images and ideas all at once ... and then it takes a while for them to get back to us. Just be patient.

And I agree; the direct competition between 3rd party guys is rediculous. Hound isn't even available anymore ...
