These casettes are much smaller.
Which is disappointing. Not exactly unexpected because of them being Micromasters, but still. I think the G1 cassettes are basically the right size compared to Generations figures going by the cartoon: Smaller than minibots but not by too much.
On the other hand, with them being smaller you would probably be able to stick at least 2 in TR Soundwave's chest because it was designed for toys larger than the G1 cassettes.

This was one heck of a deal, which makes me question wether or not this was intentional. If it was, Hasbro seems to be heavily in the holliday spirit, if not, someone isn't going to have a job at Hasbro much longer.

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical to.
I was just on TFW2005 bashing HTS for being so slow when it came to releasing new figures. And how I rarely even shopped there anymore then a half hour latter BAM!
Someone posted news that HTS had them and the dlx's were only $9.99, $7.99 with the promo and free shipping. I manage to get Prime, Meg, Sideswipe and Tread. Which were the main ones I wanted anyway (along with Shockwave).

Eh, it happens. I dreamed there was a Combiner Wars Armada Sideways once. Out of curiosity, what did your dream come up with for them, mold and member-wise?
In other news, while I personally did not do anything about that deal, I feel I can fairly confidently say I'm getting Skytread and Hound for Christmas because of this, having passed the info on before everything sold out.

It was mostly matching the rumors - Siege Sideswipe mold repainted in G2 colors, Skytread repainted for Slamdance. Don't know if my brain came up with anything for the Battlemaster though.

Siege Hound is a solid figure. There isn't a lot of obvious gapping in the robot mode, which is quite refreshing. He sports a very dark green this time around, a bit darker than I think we're used too, but the same too can be said of the red used on Siege Sideswipe. Maybe this is part of how Hasbro conveys the "darker and grittier" direction they're going with in Transformers: SIEGE, along with the painted on "battle damage" details. Hound's accessories are great too. He's got his shoulder cannon/holo-emitter, a rifle, and an ammo clip. The three can be arranged in several different configurations. I do wish that, instead of the ammo clip, the shoulder cannon had a missile or something to put in it. It looks kinda "empty" as is, and putting his gun in there leaves him without a handheld weapon.
Hound's Transformation is fun and mostly intuitive. I got hung up on figuring out where to put his arms in alt mode for a while, though. I don't use the instructions unless I absolutely have to. After studying some pictures of Hound in "Jeep" mode for a while, I figured out home the arms work. It's a little sad that they just kind of contort a bit and lazily lay under everything else in vehicle mode. At least they do tab in, but I feel like they could have used some empty space in there a little more creatively. I also have some issue with how the legs fold out and back in during transformation. There's definitely a bit of clearance issue getting them past the roll cage. It's not horrible, and there are a few joints that can help, but you still end up having to "bend" some plastic around other plastic just a bit to get things where they need to go (unless I'm missing something really big).
I'm not sure yet if Siege Hound will be my "display" Hound in the future. I'm sticking with the Autobot Specialist version for now. I did give him the Siege version's gun, though. There is a lot to like about Siege Hound, but I feel, for me at least, the Specialist version has such a good grasp on both the G1 cartoon silhouette, colors, and details that it's hard to really surpass it, especially when Siege Hound skews more G1 toy accurate with the bronze stripe detailing and the stars on the shoulders. I'll post some comparison pics later tonight of Siege, Autobot Specialist, and Unite Warriors Hound.

I was going to wait to find them in stores, but at $8 a deluxe and a total of $33.89, when the total would be around $85, I couldn't say no to $50 off.
so now, just to keep an eye on Leaders, battlemasters, and micromasters in stores. Wasn't concerned about getting the micromasters online yet, they can wait for the store.

It's a problem whenever an online store has something on sale - big runs on the inventory are unrestrained by proximity, physically going through the aisles, and checkout lines.

Lore Keeper wrote:I learned something fun today while at one of my local Targets. Turns out, there is a reason inventory trackers aren't working to locate these figures remotely. Target is blocking tracking from all external sources. The associate showed me that the items are even blocked from displaying on Target's website, unless you're accessing it from an employee's device. This was all done to make it so you must go into a Target store to look up an item. Want to guess why the change was made? Scalpers, everyone's best friends! Manufacturers of items like the NES Classic were getting pissed that their products were being scalped so easily, and put pressure on retailers to take measures against it.

I have been checking inventory checkers and they have shown nothing but have been getting in the micros, weapons and even today the deluxes. Brickseek said they had nothing in stock so there might be some truth to this.

I can see now that if Siege Hound had a proper neck like the other two there would be even less of a height discrepancy between the three. As it is the difference in height is pretty minor.

blackeyedprime, you're talking out your exhaust port. Behold:
If any figure can be said to be "pretending to be Hound", it's the Combiner Wars/Unite Wars toy since that's Hound's head on Swindle's body. But the Siege toy? Hound all the way.

Woah! Your G1 Hound has more battle damage details than the Siege toy!
In all fairness, that's how all of my G1 figures look that aren't some sort of reissue.

Do they make replacement stickers? I thought they just did customization.

My G1 Hound for the record is really beat up: Missing both mirrors and one headlight (I lost it when taking some of his supposed-to-be-chrome parts - they were just bare ivory-color plastic - out to spraypaint them silver. Not chrome but it seemed better than bare) and IIRC one tire. His spare tire is made from a painted piece of dowel with a home-printed decal glued on, his jerry can is a gas can cut off from a rack of three fused together that were about the right size that I glued a peg to and then painted, and the stand for his machine gun (my only weapon for him) is a plasticard bodge substitute.

They also make replacement sticker sheets, reproductions of the originals in the case of G1 Transformers and enhanced reproductions of the Japanese sticker sets in the case of Power Rangers (though there have been some notable goofs there, one of which still hasn't been fixed last I saw). It's where their name comes from: Reproduction Labels. Now, they don't make simple replacement stickers for modern TFs at this time (although I think they should start doing so what with stickers having returned in a big way). But if you're dealing with a G1 toy or reissue thereof, you're good. At least unless you want Sunstreaker's headlights grumble grumble.

That sucks, you could always write to Hasbro directly and see what they say, you never know.
Ad yeah, reprolabels doesnt have the same stickers (they do for G1 toys but not for these), instead its different stickers for customizing.

Will, he said that he bought the reissue Devastator. So Reprolabels does have replacement stickers, because that's a G1 toy.

Admittedly its no way near as bad as the combiner wars Hound but his lega are way too blocky that it has to stand legs spread (whare as the G1 suffers from only being to have his legs close together from blockiness...) but both wheels on each leg for the siege and the bulk for the extra weapons ports compromises the figure some what. Vehicle mode it aint hound, below the waist it aint hound, and thats the important part because thats the bit that contains the exhaust port... I'ts just not for me, other than to use as an additional background bot or left in vehicle mode (with wishful thinking that titan master or micromasters could be seated in it).

Yes, yes, since thats G1 toy then reprolabels definitely has you covered.
The ridiculous amount of toys being released is getting the better of me.

Just to clarify. Heck yes they do! That's how they started. Repro, as in reproduction. They are all about renovating/restoring the old toys. It wasn't until later that they got into all the fun cutom stuff, but they still produce the G1 stickers.Lore Keeper wrote:Do they make replacement stickers? I thought they just did customization.

The titan master seated in it reminds me of the car in Bad Taste, so thats actually another win for the vehicle mode, just needs a sticker to go behind the clear plastic.

I was kinda thinking that the white stars are way too Earth military for a Cybertronian. Those emblems would have been something he picked up after scanning the Jeep he scanned.
