Here's a pic of a custom made(e-hobby black version) of Classic Starscream.

I agree with you about the black details on Dirge..

Still not sure why the sunburst stripes on the wings are necessary, but at least they are more subdued than the Henkei.

The blue is nicer, that black is fantastic especially when compared to the grey, and overall looks much cleaner. My only (minor) pet peeve is that I wish they gave him the fat missiles the Ramjet molds came with instead. Thankfully I can just switch them out with BotCon Thrust's fat missiles :3
All you ever want is fat missiles...

Because the original toy had them.

I did not know that. Thank you.
I checked a pic of G1 Dirge and, lo and behold, the stripes are there, but they run parallel to the body of the jet mode and actually accentuate the figure pretty nicely, IMO.
The updated stripes are not an improvement on the original, methinks.

You've mentioned this before and I still don't know what mold degradation you're talking about. I do see a handpainted mess of a face on the one displayed at SDCC. The ones used at Botcon were fine if not perfect. Not trying to be argumentative but that dogs got no legs to stand mate.

Anyone for a betting pool on how long it'll take Reprolables to produce G1-correct stripes?

Actually there have been pictures surface with mold degradation. Especially on his face, chin area. It has been a worry with me since the first pictures of Dirge surfaced at Botcon. Thankfully, this picture review seems to put those fears to rest.

Anyhow, I feel this is great news: my Henkei seekers can all stay MOSC, while these Generations versions are excellent for displaying!

Would you mind linking to the pics? I was at Botcon in person, it looked fine. Again I'm not arguing with you guys, I simply want to see what's getting people so worried. At this point, I honestly don't know what either of you are talking about.

It was the one shown at SDCC, not BotCon. To me, it always looked like the test-shot face melting shenanigans they like to pull.

Agreed. I'd say you're right on the money there.

Anyway, I may pick this guy up even though I got the Botcon one years back. Dare I say, I may like this one better than Botcon due to the new wing design?! *gasp!* Should I sell my Botcon Dirge????

Not quite so rare. Hasbro's Animated is far better IMO. Hasbro's MP seekers have been nicer as well without having to apply stickers to things as a plus. They get it right nearly as often as Takara. Nearly.

I have to agree with you on this. It isn't as rare as people make it out to be.
