SECRETS AND LIES! As the Scavengers’ journey reaches its ignoble end, the architect of their downfall puts the fate of half the Cybertronian race in their hands. Only one question remains: Are the worst Decepticons prepared to become the ONLY Decepticons?

I'm pretty sure I called it after LL14 came out. Grimlock didn't dismember the Scavengers, Spinster did as part of a ruse to escape. Why else did the focus on him being a surgeon for a few panels? He dismembered them in a way that didn't harm them and could be easily fixed while the guards thought they were all dead and took Grimlock to Scorponok.
Honestly, I think I like the Scavengers story arc the best out of all of them.

Edit: And as someone who’s only read MTMTE/LL it’s interesting to some of the backstory with Grimlock and Scorponok play out. Hasn’t been too hard to follow either.

I felt the same, I was shocked that they actually brought up Dante again. But it's fantastic too, I appreciate all the callbacks

He's (Roberts) called back to anything that matters at this point, tbh. It was a Furman story that got hastily tied up so not a super deep well of backstory to worry about! They were rivals, their battle led to Grimlock being taken to Garrus 9 to spare the other Dinobots, Scorponok was also arrested. Ultra Magnus did the arresting. That's basically it!SureShot18 wrote:Edit: And as someone who’s only read MTMTE/LL it’s interesting to some of the backstory with Grimlock and Scorponok play out. I believe they also butt heads in Monstrosity or Primacy, one of those series. There’s some references in LL14 to that history I believe

Before the war, Scorponok and Grimlock fought against each other many times in the gladiatorial pits. Then, before Grimlock joined the Autobots officially, Scorponok blew up a fuel refinery on top his head. Around 2007, Scorponok began to mind control the Dynobots into attacking Grimlock, before Magnus showed up and hauled them off to Garrus-9. During the Surge, Scorponok escaped the prison and grabbed Grimlock, who had been implanted with the Magnificence, a device which is omnipotent, and tortured him until he let go.
So Grimlock is rightfully pissed

About Transformers: Lost Light, Vol. 3
A witty, smart, emotional take on fan-favorite Transformers characters in a sci-fi world unlike any other!
Winner of the Comixology Award for Best Ongoing Comic Series of 2017, as well as Best Writer for James Roberts!
Crammed into a dead Decepticon astropod that’s ten sizes too small, the displaced crew of the Lost Light face their most serious threat yet: each other. No worries though, Rodimus can save the day! Plus, the Scavengers have never had it so good. The war is a receding memory, their patchy service records have been forgotten, and the five of them can roam the galaxy as they please. All’s well that ends well? Not quite.

The book is due out next month, and already features the main cover with a lot of Are All Dead vibes, but the variant pushes the concept a little differently, showing Rodimus seeing the ghosts? spirits? avatars? traces? of the characters we know have definitely passed away so far: Trailcutter, Ravage, Ambulon, and Pipes. Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!
ALL GOOD THINGS…! Rodimus and the Crusadercons have reached their final destination. The trouble is, it’s not Cyberutopia. In fact, it’s not ANYWHERE. But they’d better get used to it, because they’re going to be there until the end of Time…

Easy tigress.
Gonna be okay? Do you want the cover explained in detail in the article for those who can only see words and no pictures?

It is just speculation, indeed. There are a lot of things pointing to something happening, and all creators on Twitter are being vague and hinting and just infuriating from a news perspective (I mean that in the best way!), but yes, just speculation.
Good way to drum up some publicity in the fandom, I suppose? Though the ones talking about it are mostly readers already (which is kinda the whole reason to actually have a reboot).

I figured it will either be a soft reboot like it it was with the beginning of MTMTE or a completely new story with new or seldom-used characters. Either way, I'm guessing the new title will be War For Cybertron, in support of the upcoming toy line starting in 2019.o.supreme wrote:Is there any indication that after the Unicron event, Optimus Prime and Lost Light will be coming to an end? or the Transformers books will again be rebranded by IDW? --It kind of seems like it, but its just speculation by me at this point.

Based on past tie in efforts I'm wondering if they'll take the time to do a war for Cybertron flashback arc, set before the moment thunderwing screwed everything up. The best thing would be if IDW put this out as a miniseries so other stories didn't have to take a break.

Also I'm curious if the new line (and perhaps the comics) will have any connections to the game. Or if the name is just a lack of imagination.ZeroWolf wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I figured it will either be a soft reboot like it it was with the beginning of MTMTE or a completely new story with new or seldom-used characters. Eh, at this point, I'm willing to wait for actual news from IDW, to be honest. Also given the fact that LL volume 3 ends with #18 (the one announced in latest solicits for May). '[T]he biggest story in the history of the Lost Light' (see blurb for #18) is probably volume 4. I doubt it'd be two issues only.
(Bumping it back up to 22 pages is interesting though..)

And that last page, my word, that is a masterpiece. The lines, the lighting, the words - that's how you do a cliffhanger!
Unofficial score (someone else is writing the formal review): 113/Fulcrum; would have Khary Payton voice this Grimlock

After being written into an impossible corner, the heroes escape via a tedious scene of heavy exposition.
Terrible stuff.

she was very close to the 'phone so she probably heard the message herself. Why wasn't she paralysed too? Tarn might have given her the antidote previously but, if he did, he shouldn't have been so trusting. He was the chief of the Decepticon anti-rebellion forces. He shouldn't have given her the means to neutralise his sonic weapon.
