A while ago we learned that there was more Bumblebees headed for the Studio Series line, one of these was pictured with a small Charlie figure but that was it. Now thanks to a tip off from fellow Seibertron user, Carnivius_Prime, we've learned that the Planet Iacon- Singapore Transformers fan group on facebook have gotten pictures of this toy in box! It's also nothing like fans were expecting.

Transformers News: Re: Transformers Studio Series Discussion (New 2018 Movie Line)

Transformers News: Re: Transformers Studio Series Discussion (New 2018 Movie Line)

Included in the box is the 1977 Camaro Bumblebee toy but with some extra tooling allowing for parts to be swapped out to change the look of the alt mode! It's unclear at this point if any of the pieces can be used for robot mode but it's a nice addition and extra incentive for those that purchased the original 1977 Camaro toy. The Charlie toy itself is an unarticulated statue. This figure was found at Target in California, and while it is not confirmed, smart money is on this being exclusive to the retailer, which is getting the bulk of Bumblebee Movie toy exclusives.

What do you make of this first look? Are you likely to double dip on this Bumblebee? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to Seiberton for all the latest news and reviews.

I've had little interest in TFSS and have sold most of my movie figures, but this is pretty neat.

The spare parts are a neat extra, I'd like if those became a habit for toys with real cars for alt mode.

Is it easy to say I would have preferred a modern trilogy Camaro set?

While I'm not promising anything, let's see how well this set does and maybe we can convince hasbro to do others

Thanks for getting this ZeroWolf and Carnivius and sharing it with us. This is a really cool set and it would have helped Hasbro tremendously if they wouldhave conveyed its difference from other sets in that SS graph showing the million similar looking BBs tha were coming out. Its also important to note that it is a Target exclusive, I will add that to the news post.

I wonder what that means about it being found in Canada. EB Games has been getting all the target exclusive stuff so far.

yeah i'm wondering if it has any relation to the plot of the film. Like does Bee become his 70's Camaro form earlier than the end and as part of a race that Charlie helps him win or something? Or is it simply just a fun toy set?

Wonder what the price will be? I assume a lil more than regular Deluxe release but hopefully not Voyager price. I was very unsure about getting this one as I already have the first figure and wasn't keen on buying it all over again just to get the Charlie figurine (which I would like cos I do like having human figures with my Transformers) but now that we see the Bee toy itself has some interesting extra play value options I'm much more tempted.

No problem will :) I'm sorry I missed out the bit about target having it as an exclusive!

I'm tempted by this and in the past Tesco were able to distribute Target stuff so I'll remain on the lookout. Otherwise I'll have to see if places like kapow get it.

I finally found lockdown and bought the only one I saw. When I got home his arm was already popped off in the box at the shoulder. After I finally figured out I had to remove a screw to get it back on I realized how incredibly floppy my copies right arm is.

I'm probably going to exchange him, but not because I don't like him. He is really cool and looks great. Even though I got a dud, I recommend him.

Just noticed the feet are unpainted. Guess some of the paint budget went into the accessories. :P That's fine. Can easily add silver paint there if I want to like I've done on many movie Bee figures. And yeah I don't think any of the parts stay on in robot mode (most of them go across parts that have to be seperated). Still, it looks like a fun toy and plenty stickers to play with too. Oddly it appears to have yellow paint on the hands whereas the original release does not (but I may add now with same yellow paint I added to the shoulders of mine)

Following the reveal earlier of Studio Series number 15, the 1977 Camaro Bumblebee with the Charlie figurine and car modifications, we now have more in hand pictures courtesy of the Planet Iacon- Singapore Transformers Fans Facebook group, as pointed out by fellow Seibertron user, Carnivius_Prime.

The pictures give us a better look at the car modification parts and what they look like in vehicle mode. We also get a look at the backdrop the set offers for display. We also get a better look at the Charlie figurine who is sporting a Bumblebee logo t-shirt. The photos also reveal an abundance of stickers, allowing you to further customise Bumblebee to your liking.

Carnivius_Prime has also shared their observation that this version of the mold has unpainted feet compared to his first release yet now has yellow paint on the back of his hands.

So far this toy has been found at Target in California, but as they are getting many exclusives for the Bumblebee movie this could be one of them.

What do you think of this release? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

I like that they've still kept to the template of having a backdrop for display despite it's odd nature. Question is, will they try and sell this at Voyager price point because of the extra plastic in Charlie plus the car parts :-?

Yeah I do like that backdrop, and it's a bigger one too cos of the box size but yes that does make me worry it'll be voyager priced cos of the size of the package but I'm hoping it'll just be a lil bit more than a standard Deluxe or perhaps somewhere in-between. Not gonna worry til it's out. I got my orders of Ironhide and VW Bee to look forward to anyways. :michaelbay:

Leave it mint. This release kinda reminds me of those "Pimp My Ride"-type shows, turning a rust-bucket into a one-of-a-kind souped up vehicle.

Thats whats great about the internet, connecting us all. Yes, it was found at a california target and the pics ended up across the internet, including a foreign TF group (which is the most popular TF group on FB).

And to answer an earlier question, we are not 100% sure its a target exclusive. But it looks like an exclusive (being a special version of a previously released toy) and its at target which is getting all the Bee Movie exclusives. So I just connected the dots.

There is no "Only at Target" sticker on the box, so that does make me wonder.

Yes, as it's an elongated box, it's hard to see where it would end up on an aisle. If it turns up at other places than target, we'll inform you all accordingly :) likewise we'll see how this fits into gamestop and eb games with how they've gotten ahold of target exclusives in the past.

As I've said in a previous post, I'm hopeful that this may turn up at a tesco for us brits but I'm aware of how much of a long shot it is.

None of the Tescos near me even sell much in the way of Transformers. One of them got those half-assed Cyberverse scouts that barely transform and that's about all they have on their shelves.

Does any of the asda's or sainsbury's near you stock any tfs? The local asda no longer stocks any tfs though it might get some in to support the bumblebee movie, I just worry that we'll get stuck with less and less places to buy stuff from in person :-? With only a handful of nationwide toyshops are UK tf fans doomed to become online only? Especially if we skip out in waves if Studio Series toys.

My local Asda doesn't really sell toys and the Cambridge one barely sells any TF stuff (certainly never seen any Studio figures). I did actually have TLK Hot Rod ordered from the Asda website and delivered for free to my local Asda which was neat. Only store I've seen Studio figures sold in is the Forbidden Planet in Cambridge but it's a small selection (as is their Titans & PotP) and I perhaps should have picked up Brawl there while I had him in hand. It's a bit much for my anxiety to do the bus ride to cambridge and back (about 3 hours of my day sat on a bus and i hate that) but at least it's free cos i have a health-related bus pass thing. :)

There's a Sainsburys the other direction in Ely which i was in on Saturday which actually had some TLK stuff in. W3 Bumblebee, Drift, Slug, Sqweeks and Barricade half price for £12.50 each and Voyager Hound (which I had hoped was half price too but nope) for £33 but no Studio. I don't think The Entertainer in Cambridge has Studio either (has TLK and PotP last I looked) so guess it's mainly specialist shops like Forbidden Planet that tend to do it here. So no idea who'll release that customisable Bee set in UK. As you mention probably have to go online with Kapow or something. Which is fine.

It's such a shame to see a decline like that. I remember the first movie line being everywhere and easy to find that a lot of my first year adult collecting was the first movie toys with Animated when I found them. I pulled the toys from all over the place like Asda and Sainsbury's.

Yeah back in 2007 and 2008 where I lived back then was right near one of those small Tesco Direct convienence stores and while far too small to sell any mainline figures they did sell movie Legends class figures (back when Legends cost only £2.99) and i often bought one along with my milk and bread and such. :P

Minor correction, so that we are all on the same page going forward, we should not lump EB games and Gamestop together automatically.

EB Games exists in Canada and Gamestop exists in the US and they act as independent retailers attached to a different nation.

So since an exclusive is given to one retailer in the nation, it could be that it is given to EB Games in Canada and not to Gamestop in the US.

This is a good example. IF this is an exclusive, and we see that its available at target, then Gamestop in the US will not have it, just Target. BUT because there are no targets in Canada, EB Games could pick up this exclusive, which is what they have done for many target exclusives in Canada. Its probably what they will do with that Target Exclusive Soundwave we are getting.

However if there is a figure that is exclusive to Gamestop in the US (like Marvel Legends Ronan) then its pretty certain that it will be also found exclusively at EB Games in Canada.

Thanks for the correction will :-) so either it's an exclusive at target or exclusive at gamestop, EB Games will likely get it anyway.

Yeah, thats the way things are these days. Unlike what people may think, the US still has way more retailers (both online and brick and mortar) selling Transformers and capable of getting exclusives than Canada does.

Canada just has TRU, Walmart, EB Games and Amazon (which is a shadow of its US counterpart to the poit where we just roder from the US version anyways).

Funny thing, we do have another store which has had transformers exclusives in the past, but its not a toy store. Its a home and hardware store called Canadian Tire

Yeah, we are luckier than you guys for sure, but i think most in terms of prices (and sales). Postage from the US is not as good as you think though, USPS (and e-bay) considers Canada an international country (which is not incorrect) and we get similar rates. It costs as much to ship stuff from japan to Canada than the US to Canada. Which is why I have only ever ordered from BBTS once in my life.

Shipping is a weird thing with pricing that feels made up anyway. I can ship a good sized package from Japan for $5, but can barely ship a package one town over for that price.

Oh my Primus, this is a dream set for me! I don’t even mind that I’ll have two of the same Camaros, Dragster Muscle Car Bee is too good of an idea for me to pass up. It reminds me of those old “tale apart and customize” hot wheels sets released in the early 2000’s.

Since a theme of the set is customization, I think I’ll give him his first AOE colour scheme.

Doesn't show up in post mode but the link is there to your Dropbox. I've clicked and seen the picture and I think you dude a really good job. It doesn't distract from the movieverse look either. Have you posted it in the customization sub forum?

((Oops. Just edited it again, used the wrong link again #-o ))

Thank you for the kind comments! I’ve made some adjustments and just recently setup a Dropbox to host photos so I’d like to retake pics of him before I post him over there!

Following up on the Studio Series Dropkick and KSI Sentry Hasbro Stock photos found in an eBay auction we have one more auction for Studio Series Dark of the Moon Ratchet! These are the black background stock photos, as well as one white background one, for the box. We already do, however, have stock photos from TakaraTomy, but this is just icing on the cake. You will see that this is a redeco of the previous Studio Series Ratchet figure with the new gun accessory replacing the buzzsaw.

Would you like to by the version of Ratchet? Or are you fine with the ones you already have? Let us know in the forums below!

Nah, DotM Ratchet is actually my least wanted figure out of the entire line. The toy itself is great but there's nothing about that makes it interesting to me when I already have the first version other than a different weapon.

I customised mine a bit anyways with some extra paint and also snipped the roof rack thing so it folds neatly with the roof so doesn't drape down behind him in robot form cos that looked ugly and I dunno why Hasbro didn't snip it themselves.

So yeah the new one's definitely on my 'if i come across it real cheap and feel like being a completionist' list. :)

What was the point of the Studio series again?

More movie accurate toys that were also in scale to each other...apart from whatever ksi sentry is and shadow raider (though that one seems to be a way to get lockdowns masks head out and his rifle out)
