We thank Nemesis Primal for letting us know that, Sonic Bomber, the individual with the early copies of the RotB Airazors and Battletrap posted pics of what appears to be Legacy medix. It is a redeco of Legacy Crankcase with the head of Velocitron Burnout with a deco based on the Botcon custom Class Medix figure which was in turn based on a toy in the Rescue Bots line called Medix. That particular Medix toy was never a character on the original Rescue Bots show but the show Rescue Bots Academy did have a bot called Medix which sported a different deco (more based on Ratchet, who is his uncle in the show).

Apparently, the first wave of voyagers from the Transformers Legacy Evolution line have been found in Hong King, but we await confirmation. We do have in hand images of them though (no boxes shown) that were posted on the HobbyMiser Facebook page. They show off Tarn's excellent articulation through a myriad of poses.

Enjoy!

These pictures made me realize that the new Leo Prime toy may be missing a piece of detail found only on the original toy mold and on the MP, but on no other preexisting Lio Convoy toy mold: His backside rocket boosters.

If im not mistaken, he has "rocket boosters" or little nubs with blast effect compatibility. Either that or the guns can go back there. My memory isn't too great but I believe it was discussed in one of Mark Mahers instagram posts or something

I was on the fence about Tarn, but these are good shots. He seems simple yet fun, much like Jhiaxus. I wonder if he'll be just as hollow. Regardless, I have him on preorder.

Medix

What?

I'm sorry, WHAT?

I REALLY hope this is real. I passed on the crankcase remold, it's not a super great color scheme, but bits so obscure and if it does well, maybe it will signal for more RB characters.

If it's not real, it's a pretty damn good custom job. But I think it's legit.

But why that mold?

THIS is exactly what Legacy should be. As it goes on, I hope to see more obscure-ish characters like this. Hoping we get some BWii/Neo rep, maybe a Leader Class Energon Optimus Prime :-D

Many have said it but I would do anything for a CHUG Rescue Bot. Would love a WFC retool of Mirage into a Morbot.

It's weird that the medic figure has more guns than the figure it's made from that's literally called a Triggercon. I wonder if those guns are actually his? It would make more sense for him to come with the same blue axe as Skids and Burn Out like the original figure than orange versions of Elita 1's guns. I suppose their gang molded with Minerva's lightbar, but they could have just as easily used the ER Prowl lightbar that we've seen used on its own several times. I mean, I'll take extra weapons as long as it doesn't effect the price.

Because it's the closest thing to the CW figure from BotCon.

Just so long as the Prime Force drones are sold separately. Otherwise getting all of that in a leader class for Energon Optimus would be more than a little disappointing. It would be better selling them separately than it would be to sell the whole thing as a commander too so as to not waste the spot on something that could easily be sold separately. Not that everyone would enjoy that either.

I really hope Big Convoy,Stampy, Magmatron and Galvatron are being considered. Just a few of the ones I want most from BW II and Neo.

For Morbot though, I use Netflix Decepticon Mirage for that. It's far from perfect but I didn't really know what else to do with Decepticon Mirage and the colors reminded me of MOrbot a bit. A while back I repainted a PotP Jazz as Quickshadow based on her "Rescan" toy. I never even watched Rescue Bots either and I want Generations versions of them.

You make a good point about the Drones being sold separately. Could be a Deluxe class with 4 Core Limbs, sort of like the original plans for the upcoming Volcanicus.

I saw this on TFW yesterday, so many off the wall comments, and it felt like mine were just completely ignored...Oh well, anyway... It was interesting to see that some fans liked the idea, many others were like "Why RB in Generations? I never watched that preschool show..."

Oddly enough, while there were Medix toys in the RB toyline, the character himself never appeared on the show. I did watch all of RB because it was age appropriate for my kids at the time. I never watched RB Academy (outside of a couple of clips on Youtube). It appears a Medix character actually appeared on RBA (the nephew of Ratchet), but if its supposed to be the same character, who knows. The Legacy pics bear a striking resemblance to the Botcon 2016 customization class figure more than anything else:

Image

I'm so glad I own this, as all of the variations of this Ratchet Custom build class toy; Medix is arguably the hardest to create/obtain especially pushing on 6+ years since the convention. At any rate, if Legacy is supposed to represent all TF Fiction, why not Rescue Bots as well?

ZeroWolf wrote:Interesting, a possible exclusive for the likes of Velocitron?

Possibly, or Selects, or Buzzworthy. Being a Medic, lots of fans, including myself, assumed it might be the Walgreens exclusive for 2023. I really hope not though. Usually those aren't revealed until a few months into the new year, and I'm really hoping 2022 Minerva is the last year of Walgreens exclusives seeing as they make it a real pain to obtain, and show little concern for exclusives since their toy rep left.

Rescue Bots was age-appropriate for my son when it came out. At Comic-Con, he asked multiple Hasbro designers like Evan Brooks about seeing Rescue Bots in a Generations-style. I showed him this Legacy design and he's so excited.

But realizing because of the medical tie-in, this might be a Walgreens exclusive hurts my soul. lol.

I had a list during Prime Wars --

Heatwave via CW Hot Spot
Blades via CW Alpha Bravo
Chase via CW Dead End
Boulder via CW Rook
Morbot via CW Dragstrip
Salvage via CW Hot Spot or CW Long Haul
Blurr via Breakdown
Quickshadow via Breakdown
Servo via TR Ravage

Makes me wonder if any recent figures have had Rescue Bots characters as alternate head sculpts.

I admit, Tarn looks good. Good poseability is a strong selling point with me. I'm still not going to get Coronation Starscream just to get the throne though ;). There have been at least six of those warming shelf at the Walmart near my realm for at least five months. Maybe if it goes on clearance. Walmart seriously needs to coordinate better with Hasbro regarding which figures they decide to overstock...

And STILL no "Cosmos". I thought it was supposed to be a "Walmart exclusive" in the States, but it's never shown up anywhere that can be seen, even their website has no sign of it. If it's supposed to be exclusive to Walmart, you'd think at least their web page would have it listed, even if only to say that it's out of stock...

I love the idea of the Legacy line living upto the title. Not just modernising older figures but producing unreleased ones. Especially those so close to the finished product as Marauder.

Did you ever check at the crack of dawn when the stores first open? Oftentimes, scalpers get there bright and early to snatch up things they know people want, especially short-packed items.

I could imagine more Generations Rescuebots not being far off. Maybe as part of an Amazon subline

Heatwave from Legacy Bulkhead
Chase from Earthrise Runamuck
Boulder from Kingdom Warpath (HEAVY retool)

Blades is a bit of a pickle. His helicopter mode isn't similar to any that we've gotten recently. Maybe they'll release an updated Cybertron Universe Evac soon and call a recolor of that close enough.

He won't need to, if these are out in Hong Kong, he can just get it from Hasbro Asia like In Demand Toys does normally (this was why they were Shipping TF Selects Abominus before Takara themselves.) Its also why first sightings come from Singapore or the surrounding regions.

Plus, we've known that pvp gets his stuff from a website that we spoke about when Magnificus was leaked.

Honestly wasn't expecting any Rescue Bots in Generations until 2025-2030ish to capitalize on the nostalgia of that age group.

Legacy Wave 3 really did not need to go this hard on the Wave 3 beasts, but they did, and we have 2 positively spectacular figures. Inferno is trying really hard to unseat Jhiaxus as my favorite voyager, and Megatron is trying really hard to unseat Metroplex and Jhiaxus as my favorite figure of the line.

I definitely think Inferno is superior to Jhiaxus. And that's not a slight against Jhiaxus but high praise for Inferno. For me, best voyager so far since either ER Optimus or Megatron, or maybe Kingdom Blaster. And yes, I know Optimus was sold as a leader, but the base figure is a voyager.

-With enough different retooling, they could probably get both Heatwave and Salvage done using the Bulkhead mold as a base
-Agreed on Chase
-Boulder could maybe also be heavily retooled from Legacy Skullgrin, but it'd probably take just as much work as Warpath would anyway
-Blades' best bet may be to wait for a new Armada Cyclonus, since the transformation scheme and kibble would be mostly right

Went to 2 different Walmarts today. I am now all but convinced that because of Velocitron & the Legacy Beast Assortment, they opted not to order any Legacy Deluxe Wave 2.

Both stores looks like they got at least 2 cases each of the Deluxe Beast Assortment from earlier this year. I guess we know what they will be clearing out in January  .
Re: First Look at Generations Rescue Bots Medix (2150978)
Posted by King Kuuga on December 7th, 2022 @ 9:36pm CST
I don't believe stores choose which WAVE to order as much as they say "hey distro, we're running low on product X" so the distribution center sends them more product x, which may be wave 1 because they over-ordered it and it hasn't moved as much, or wave 2 is buried under residual wave 1 (first in first out after all), or distro never got wave 2 in themselves because they never needed more inventory after the initial push. Now the legacy beasts and velocitron are almost certainly a factor in the lack of need to order more, because they take of space both on the shelf and in storage, but it's not "we have enough wave 1 so we don't need wave 2" as much as "we have enough transformers, we don't need more."

I transformed Legacy Dragon Megatron without instructions and he was pretty fun to figure out. The bot is bad-ass with a clever use of the dragon claws that become the ribcage. As a dragon, he does have a very different shape than the bot, but he's still pretty much upright. So I consider him to have two bot modes rater than a bot and beast mode. He's also quite imposing and feels solid in hand, like T-Rex Megatron.

TlDr; No regrets paying full price. He's worth it. ;)^

If Medix already has enough samples in production currently that the person who leaked him managed to acquire 3 of him (which they did), then he should be coming out much earlier than Walgreens exclusives typically do, meaning he's probably releasing some other way.

I saw that too and am honestly unconvinced, as I would think that if that were the case, he would have been revealed by now so he could actually ship in time for the holidays.

I could also see someone who didn't know the character looking at the figure's color scheme and just assuming it was Christmas-related and inadvertently starting that rumor.

Hasbro has been making lots if holiday themed figures in other kinds like Star Wars. These medix colours probably made him jump to conclusions, rather than thinking of medix since many fans, even of the rescue bots show, wouldn't know of that particular reference.

This is rather interesting. While the three Legacy Prime Universe figures we had so far were a G1-ified version of the Transformers Prime characters, they weren't a mix of their Prime selves and any other version of themselves (ie. Arcee wasn't a mix of Prime Arcee and G1 Arcee), but Skyquake is a whole different kind of beast. While the toy is still Prime Universe Skyquake, you can see from the images below that both the robot mode and the alt mode are a combo of his Prime self and his G1 self. In bot mode, it's mainly the chest area, but his alt mode is far more reminiscent of the G1 toy than the original Prime jet with only the cockpit area and colour being more "Prime". The rest is all G1, like the rows of vents at the centre and the jet engines integrated into the wings. It is cool to see that this toy bucks the trend of leader class bots being voyager sized with him standing much taller than your standard voyagers.

We all know Hasbro has more than one head planned for each release, so could the alternate head be G1 Skyquake. Remember that the G1 mold has plenty of redeco potential, such as Machine Wars Starscream and King Atlas. And we know this mold will also be used for leader class Prime Universe Dreadwing coming out later in 2023. With the redeco potential for both a more faithful Prime Skyquake and a more faithful G1 Skyquake, would you have preferred two seperate molds? Or are you content with this one mold potentially servicing any of your Skyquake needs? Let us know!

Here are the image courtesy of Sonic Bomber, who presented them with the following blurb:

Leader class Skyquake is really cool. I will say, though, that I may have mistransformed or missed some things here. It is clearly pre-tooled for an eventual G1/2 Skyquake and possibly even some other figures. I ran into several odd features, like the tabs on the top-rear of the alt-mode, which seem to have no real function on this figure. The jet cockpit is also able to rotate 180°, seemingly for no purpose, as it does not appear to actually contribute to the conversion. I am very interested to see the future uses of this mold, and feel like it is a great CHUG version of the original Prime character

Definite buy for me
Though with all these potential uses of the mold I'm wondering if I should wait before getting this one. I prefer dreadwings colors over skyquakes, and if they make a zombie version of this guy I'd prefer that more as well

I can already tell this is a figure I'm going to want all five (better be five) versions of. I hope there's some wiggle room for replaceable parts, I'd rather G1 Skyquake, Starscream and King Atlas have heads more like their original figures and different shoulder pads. Diehard Prime fans are probably going to hate this interpretation, especially the default head, but I was never a fan of the original Prime head design so I'm fine with this.

Okay wow, this looks really good. I appreciate them amalgamating the G1 and Prime designs juuuuuuust enough to give a really slick looking design without betraying the Prime style too much.

That Skyquake looks to have achieved the perfect fusion and that head don't look out of place on that body contrary to Bulkhead.

I'm sure I'm going to get him, but I also really hope for a Machine Wars Starscream repaint. I'm sure it will happen but as a regular Select, or Velocitron Part II exclusive? :-?

I REALLY like this. Even with the obvious pretooled elements and the boxer, less angled sculpt this still feels like Prime Skyquake like they have learned from their mis-steps with Bulkhead, Arcee, and Knockout. I need this. And Dreadwing.
