Fellow Seibertronians, hope for finding the new Studio Series exclusive Transformers The Last Knight Drift internationally has been raised as sightings of the exclusive have found it in Canadian retail. The figure has been sighted in EB Games by Cybertron.ca members Wesperino and C-Spray in Ontario and Manitoba, where it retails for $39.99 CAD. All of you in Canada, I would recommend checking your local EB Games, as these toys usually show up at the same time all across the country.

I got my Drift last week, and opened him up. Haven't messed with him much since the Beasts have taken priority, but he's a bit loose and his swords won't tab into his robot mode storage.

Also, where the heck does that big sword store in any of his modes?

Not sure if this is news, but Walmart just discounted both SS Dropkopter and WW2 Bee. Curious as to why Dropkopter isn't discounted more than this though, seeing as his status is currently "warming shelves".

I assume you mean what can be purchased at retail right now, and my answer would depend on your location. I also assume you are interested in any Studio Series jetformers.

My first and foremost recommendation would be the Studio Series Starscream, in either deco. While I myself prefer the 2007 version, there's also the ROTF version that may be more easier to find now.
800px-StudioSeries-06-MV1-Voyager-Starscream.jpg

Studio Series Thundercracker is also great, but you might have a harder time finding him, as he is an exclusive. You can order him online right now, and I hear you can find him in stores in the UK so far, but he is worth the hunt in my opinion.
800px-StudioSeries-09-Voyager-Thundercracker.jpg

If you are willing to wait, there is a KSI Boss figure coming out soon, who is a redeco of TLK Nitro Zeus, and like Thundercracker, is a great figure.
800px-Studio_Series_KSI_Boss_.jpg

If you are willing to wait even longer, there may be a jet mode Shatter coming out, but right now, it's just a rumor.

As for Autobots, there's only Leader class Jetfire, who I hear is amazing, so there's that to consider
800px-Studio-Series-35-MV2-Leader-Jetfire.jpg

That's all for jets, but I hope this has helped you ;)

You can get Dropkick pretty easily (if you haven't been following or haven't checked your local stores in ages, he is a massive shelf warmer), and he is on clearance in both Walmart and Target now, so you can get him at a discount. Some people don't like him because he isn't accurate at all to the movie, but I think he's fine.

Blackout is a fiddly figure, but I love mine to bits, so I would recommend him if you can deal with alot of parts at the same time.

Drift may be the better version of the DropKopter mold, as he looks really accurate in both modes, and looks great.

Mostly, all is good in that area ;)

You like 'em flying Transformers, eh?

I don't know since when you're collecting Transformers and I don't know if you don't mind paying the Ebay price. But just in case you're new to the game and you don't mind paying, I recommend those 3 that will blow your mind:

HFTD Highbrow

RTS Lugnut

DOTM Skyhammer

RTS Lugnut is one of the coolest Decepticons I’ve ever had. I swear the cycloptic eye, the moving jaw, articulated fingers, just a giant hulking Megatron worshipping megabomb punching warrior. I remember I was so stoked when they brought him over to RTS.

DOTM Skyhammer can be found complete for dirt cheap, and I love him, so I would definitely recommend him for beginners.

RTS Lugnut is a great figure, and I think everyone should have one.

Same thing for HFTD Highbrow :x

Too bad none of these characters have much chance of reappearing in Studio Series

With all the Constructicons on their way and Jetfire and Leader Megatron I keep wondering what gaps can still be filled from the movies. The Fallen would be interesting to see what they do, maybe a leader class. Other than the other Dinobots and Crosshairs and a few others though I mean man they’re running the well dry fast it’ll be up to 50 before long.

Are you kidding? There is a ton more they can do (and they can still redo what they've already done). 2007 Camaro Bumblebee, 2007 Megatron, the rest of the Dreads, Onslaught, and the list just keeps going.

A Voyager Galvatron with less shellforming and more silver paint would be nice, and a Sentinel Prime would be awesome too.

Just saying, Studio Series has alot of potential left in it ;)

Oooo a good Galvatron would be totally boss! Hey maybe a Sentinel Prime I’d flip for that. You know my mind went to - KSI drones already? Cogman? Ugh. But not those other great ideas! I loved Shatter so much I hope a jet version of her has her mask flipped up and is better with the likeness.

I am totally with you on Shatter, and if Hasbro doesn't give us a good one, we can riot together

But how many Bumblebees do we have that can get a figure? I count at least 6 more, not counting an updated Bumblebee movie version, or any other versions of him in that movie.

But honestly, HasTak can sell as many as they like if it means we can get a Blitzwing from them :x

The baby Dinobots are the things that make that set, Drift has some QC issues that prevent him from being truly enjoyable.

Studio Series Thundercracker is a gem and all should love him. Great mold with awesome paintwork.

Starscream is really solid too, he is a sturdy flier with some nice size and presence.

I haven't been too huge on the studio series but I broke down and grabbed Scrapmetal tonight. He's alright. I like chicken legs done well it's weird robot stuff like Shockwave's one eye or Sky Lynx being, well, Sky Lynx. I do like the solid claw mode it makes me confident in the larger Devastator set but I still after all these years haven't washed off the stink of wrecking balls. But it is very difficult to argue against my childhood love of construction vehicles mixed with transforming robots. Wrecking balls or not, some truths are just undeniable. And I was eyeing Rampage too and you know what, not until tonight when I was looking at him did I think of the tank treads in BW Rampage being such a part of his aesthetic and this Rampage has them flailing about :) Even with the red and the name derrrr, I totally missed it.

Totally Zero I hear you. Honestly I grabbed him because at my local Target and Wal Mart, that's about all that's left, for weeks now. It's really slim pickings up here since TRU closed the other stores just have not picked up the slack which makes no sense to me.

Sometimes I'll grab something I wouldn't normally get if I can afford it during what I call the 'off season'. Any time TF's cool off for a sec I call it the off season and it's times like that I've filled my head with all the Brave series or old Sentai toy knowledge anything to fill my need for giant robots

The price is also a concern I mean at least two of these are going to be leaders right? Then this I think is the only deluxe price point in the set. That's a commitment. Ha, yeah see, Devastator is like a promise we make to the ones we love...

There's one more confirmed deluxe in the Devy set, Constructicon Hightower:

The rest of the team is probably Voyagers and Leaders, so for those planning on getting Devy... better start saving :BANG_HEAD:

That’s right! Thanks dude. He looks so unique and gruesome somehow too.
You know they’re growing on me. I love old Universal monsters and Kaiju and cryptids all that stuff and each of these I can say are monstrous. They’re each unique and have claws and spikes and gross faces or jackhammers for feet or huge arms it’s like they’re giant mutated Decepticons.

And this is random and old school but they kind of remind me of the somewhat monstrous looking robots from the Robotix cartoon.

And I enjoy these more when I remember to separate them from the G1 Constructicons - it’s a reimagining and its own thing.

Dude, I've been preaching this since at least February!

2 Deluxes: Scrapmetal and Hightower (left arm)
4 Voyagers: Scrapper (right arm) Mixmaster (head) Long Haul (right leg) Rampage (left leg)
2 Leaders: Scavenger (upper torso and shoulders) Overload (lower torso and thighs)

All told, around $260 USD before any taxes and shipping, spread out over the course of 5 to 6 waves: 2 in wave 5, 2 in wave 6, maybe another 1 or 2 at the end of the year, and the rest first thing next year.

While we're on that, I have some rumors that are very much a grain of salt rumors, but wanted to share anyway considering it was 2 days with 2 different waves in it, and I think it's worth discussing what we want to see in wave 8 and 9:

Wave 8 (Wave 4 of this year):
Deluxe: AOE Junkheap, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Sideways, Loader
Voyager: Blitzwing, Ironhide
Leader: Megatron and Frenzy.

Wave 9 (Wave 1 2020)
Deluxe: WWII Hot Rod, TLK Barricade, RotF Bumblebee, AOE Junkheap, TFBB character (Jeep Bee or Jet Shatter)
Voyager: RotF Optimus (v2), RotF Scrapper
Leader: DotM Shockwave, RotF Scavenger

Remember, it'll be bought piecemeal over a year or so, so the bite to the wallet will be spread out and easy to handle.

Hm... If we are getting WWII Hot Rod, that'd be awesome. Might make me pull the trigger and buy WWII Bee. Megatron might be nice as would Shockwave, but I'm struggling to remember who Junkheap was in AOE. Loader sounds familiar, but again, can't place the name. As much as Blitzwing would be cool, he looks like he'd be a total nightmare to transform. Even for the movie line. If these are real, I'd probably only be picking up Hot Rod, Constructicons, Jet Shatter, and maybe Shockwave. Crosshairs would need to be really impressive, as would Megatron for me to think about them. Still, even though most of these figures wouldn't be ones I'd buy, I do hope that these are real for those who would want them

Deluxe: WWII Hot Rod, TLK Barricade, RotF Bumblebee, AOE Junkheap, TFBB character (Jeep Bee or Jet Shatter)
Voyager: RotF Optimus (v2), RotF Scrapper
Leader: DotM Shockwave, RotF Scavenger

For full disclosure, the tweets were in Chinese and we wete told that they translate to what a fan is wishing those waves to contain.

That was the assumption for the wave 8 scan, but wave 9 was a different type of text and read.

and also, responses from people in Twitter who were copying or retweeting it and could properly translate indicate that some of the listed figures were based on proper rumors, found listings, and potential leaks

This point exactly. Rampage is the best Decepticon of the line, and probably 2nd or 3rd best of the line to me

More Bees and another Optimus, oh boyyyyyyyyy.....

Blitzwing would of course be exciting and an instant buy, and we already know those Constructicons are coming. I have no interest in Megs or Shockwave, but I know that will make other people happy, so that's cool. I don't think anyone is asking for another Optimus, especially when it's an Optimus we already got, and I think more Bees are wasted spots, but oh well I just won't buy them. Jet Shatter would make sense since we got both Dropkicks, dunno if I'll get her or not though since my Shatter only has one arm that comes off and I'm okay with the figure otherwise. Crosshairs is meh, and I don't know how they'll make a different Ironhide without him being a dead rusty variant. I had a dream that involved the existence of an SS Sideways, so I might have to get him just because of that. I hope that TLK Barry and WWII Hot Rod will get their own molds and not me a TLK re-release and a WWII Bee repaint respectively, but we'll see.

The most interesting ones are Junkheap and Loader. For those who don't remember, Loader was an armored truck Decepticon who never transformed onscreen, and Junkheap is the name of the KSI garbage truck. Junkheap was three bots in the movie, but was only one guy when he was released as a gimmick figure, so I'm curious what Loader is even going to look like, and I'm curious if Junkheap is going to be one guy or if they're going to pull some kind of Siege Refraktor-type thing for his alt mode. Either way, yay more obscure Cons, my favorite part of this line.

I saw these lists on Instagram, with the creator saying these were based on his "own algorithm", aka not even slight confirmation of anything.

I'm waiting for him to show up again in the Twin Cities area, along with SS-38 Bumblebee Optimus Prime. I saw them briefly a few months ago, but I didn't bite because I was saving up for a trip. Now all I can find for the Studio Series in the Voyager scale are Bonecrusher and Battle Damaged Megatron. :(

Funny, considering Rampage seems to be shelf warming in my area. No sign of SS-38, so I might as well quit looking. I don't want to go through the trouble of ordering online either, so I guess this is it for me :/

Its too early to call a toy shelfwarming. It's the latest voyager, I would hope he's on the shelf available for purchasing. Prime is simply more popular, no surprise there.

And D-Max, I do like Rampage, but he isnt my favourite voyager. I think I even preffer Bonecrusher simply for that lovely transformation that flips him around the axis. I also love Voyager Stasrcream, that might be the best voyager of the line so far in my opinion.

Yeah, at this time, Rampage is simply moving slower than a very popular wavemate. That ain't shelfwarming.

And Starscream and Bonecrusher are really good. Bonecrusher is my favorite movie Con, and Screamer is really fun. But Rampage is just so solid and big and imposing and well painted! He really stands out compared to the others.

I'll be honest with you guys and gals - I'm old and stubborn. When RotF came out, I was sore and bitter about it. And I still resent some wasted opportunities. At the time I could not warm up to the designs.

I'm telling you right now though, Studio series is really turning me around. I'm finding new love and appreciation for these designs. I mean Rampage is just gruesome. And I've mentioned this elsewhere I know but Shockwave's one eye, Omega Supreme with his claw hand, Sky Lynx being so weird and Trypticon being a dinosaur I just have always loved when there's a unique odd ball design that shows off how diverse they can be as a species.

Rampage epitomizes so much of that quality with his huge arms and claws and a jackhammer for a foot and the whips too it's like just...I think I get extra romantic when I wasn't expecting to like a TF but as often happens they win me over.
