Gotta be honest, the Cel-shading actually doesn't look as bad as I though it would on Prime, but it's still not great in my opinion. Definitely going to pick up Bluestreak and Soundblaster, but has anyone else noticed Soundblaster's paint being a bit sloppy/fuzzy? Like, the Decepticon badge was almost covered with the silver on multiple copies that I saw

Still waiting for that dispaly to show up at the Walmart where im working. If not its gonna be a long ride home Monday stopping at every walmart till i find it. :HEADHURTS:

Got Ironhide down to tinker with Ratchet and there are more differences than I originally thought.

While WFC Smokescreen and Prowl have been rather easy to get due to their non exclusive status, Transformers Siege Bluestreak is that one Datsun that some Canadians feared not getting (at least not for cheap). Well, the toy is now up on Walmart.ca for $29.99, which is the standard price of deluxe toys in Canada (it comes out to $23 USD). For those wanting all three, Prowl is rather easy to find at both Toysrus and Walmart stores in Canada while Smokescreen is still available at Toysrus.ca.

If ever you do find interesting toy sightings that you think are new, you can reach us by clicking here.

And remember that you can share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

Ah neat, I hadn't even noticed his forearms are different from each other.

I feel that Ratchet wears the mold better than Ironhide. Glad I made the Walgreens hunt.

While I don't like Rung as a character at all I can definitely appreciate the uniqueness of his mold and the fact it came out in Siege, of all things. Still totally planning to sand down his face and turn him into protoforms/stasis pods.

Thats just mean, what did the first Transformer ever (in IDW ver 1 at least) do to you :-P

Still, an awesome plan for a custom, it'd be interesting for hasbro to make protoform toys at one point for army building. Just call them blanks and be done with it.

Different strokes for different folks :) I had no problems with him and I liked him being Primus, especially since other then the ability to regenerate (a bet limited) and creating matrixes, he wasn't specially powerful which worked well with what Shockwave was laying down in the other book about the Primes as he created them in a weird bootstrap paradox. Yeah though I can understand some not liking him.

‘Best’ can be debated till the end of time as an old collector I realize that, but for me personally I don’t think I’ve ever been so emotionally invested in a comic and the characters. It just connected with me like nothing else. i really miss it. I miss them.

From what I remember Primus wasn't even a "god" in IDW just one of the earliest Transformers, hell the actual guy wasn't a planet former just a normal sized dude who was part of a group of 4 other dudes.

He wasn't even strong or anything, the one thing he could do was poop crystals out of himself.

Those who ordered Ratchet as soon as it became available on the Walgreen's website should be receiving theirs as I was one of them and mine showed up today. In a separate shipment I received Singe and Pteraxadon. I wish Hasbro's battle masters had knees like the Targetmasters that came with Takara's legends. I'm sure something had to give so they could include the blast effects but look at these two, patiently waiting for the bus. Image

If it was up to me running this trilogy I'd have Battlemasters (and effects) blind bags and every mold available in 3-4 colors and each mold would have at least 2-3 permutation of the barrel. If it was up to me I'd have these guys so produced the molds would fall apart!

Well, I'm sure those multicolored Firedrive could make interesting partners to various Siege figures depending on the color scheme. Speaking of color scheme on Battlemasters: I've swapped limbs around and ended up with spare parts taking the form of a Caliburst with blue limbs and barrel. It looks really cool.

Glad this toy exists, still really really really want a normal sized one. Would have been totally fine with a retooling of PotP Moonracer or Firestar as a start! Just worried that with Rung being a tail-ender in the price class for Siege that's had the worst distribution that he's destined for slow sales by default, which could be all someone needs to justify not making more versions of him. Hopefully I'm overthinking it :)

I might still end up with a regular Rung purely because he come in a two pack of his wavemate online, dude. This is just a callback to me planning to use any spare Rungs and to turn him into a protoform with a stasis pod because this is what he remind me, what with his big round spark-shaped crystalline structure in the middle and his altmode looking ovoid.

I'm not going to be actually defacing some Rungs to spite on IDW fanboys, I'm just planning to get 3-4 spare ones if I can because I got an interesting custom idea for him. >:oP

By the way, given the flak I've gotten for saying I was going to 'deface Rung' allow me to explain. I will take spare Rungs (since, given he's a late wave in a size class that sell poorly in my area he should eventually be found taking space at retail) and smooth out his face with some putty. Then I will cover the whole thing in gunmetal or silver.

As much as I dislike James Robert's writing fumble, you could argue I'm still playing into the part that Rung=the first if I use him as a basis for Protoforms, right? :-?

Skritz wrote:*lots of good stuff defending their idea*

I'll be honest, seeing the flak you've been getting, I'm disappointed. Your idea to customize Rung is really smart, and definitely not one I would have thought of, but it's a really good idea. But, because it's an IDW character, suddenly you're a villain. Every custom figure needs a base, unless you feel like 3D printing essentially a new figure. Different figures get customized into different characters all the time, and yet I've not seen anyone complain when that happens. I didn't see any of your comments as spiteful towards IDW or Rung, but rather just a joking comment on your distaste towards Rung's true identity. Just my take on everything, and honestly, if you buy all the Rungs, Hasbro doesn't see what happens after, so they may just think people love IDW and start throwing out more figures based on IDW designs. As far as I see it, you win by getting to have a fun little project of making custom Protoforms, and fans of IDW might win because the designs may end up getting official toys. Especially seeing the model kit for IDW Megatron
Re: Behind the Scenes of the Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Toy Commercial (2043790)
Posted by Skritz on November 4th, 2019 @ 10:16pm CST
I honestly didn't pick Rung as a custom base because of the character, yeah. He's just the mold that fits. However its really funny for me to joke about 'defacing someone's self-insert' with sandpaper or a dremel tool like I'm some sort of mutilating maniac! Truthfully I'm hardly someone who hate 100% IDW, what with wanting Thunderclash when, lets be real, nobody cared about Thunderclash before IDW comics.

Nice. I’ll have to try that.

Is anyone else’s Ratchet super loose? I didn’t pick up Ironhide and I know tightness varies from figure to figure, but he’s definitely the loosest Siege figure I own.

The waist is fairly loose, much looser than Ironhide. Everything else seems normal/acceptable. Fortunately the waist doesn't affect any of the poses or transformation. Alt mode is fine because of the side panes and such.

I can't put a finger on it, but I prefer Ratchet over Ironhide in this mold.

Hm. Maybe it’s just mine then. In addition to the waist, my Ratchet’s knees (especially) and elbows are less-than-desirably tight. My only real quality issue with a Siege figure so far (well, considering I did a minor preventative fix on Slamdance, so I don’t count him).

QC is always a dice roll. You can always try and find another and return the loose one. I do that all the time after checking the new one and doing any part swaps 8-)

Your secret is safe with me ;)^

My Ratchet is fine. Its Ironhide who has joints too tight.
