This is carbot sized

Is that MPM prime?

Looks like RotF leader to me. Just as a comparison to answer the original poster.Bronzewolf wrote:Is that MPM prime?Actar wrote:YRQRM0 wrote:I wish it were to scale to the Prime, if I remember right it's like leader class size right? I was going to say. Looks too bulky and too many off colors to be 04. It's a practical size comparison, as they're the same size, pretty much.

Course not. The face looks like mush, he has overlapping huge thigh tires, and the hands are bricks, among other things I decided not to type.
(Lol I'm not trying to sound like a jerk. Just a nerd who has studied the two in comparison for at least an hour while listening to things because I have nothing else better to do right now.)

Pretty sure it's all painted. I can tell you this as well, I'm replacing all of my Bayverse Bumblebees with this guy. It definitely looks painted in those screen captures I did from the Toy Show presentation earlier this year. Reaaaaaally glossy. I'm hoping that's what it ends up being.Ravage XK wrote:Just been checking images and it does look painted. Thanks.

79.99 is how much toysrus will sell it in the US.

It really is depending on personal preference. The HA Bumblebee has a more accurate car mode with inside detailing and opening doors, and even a Sam Witwicky, but the MPM one has a way better and more accurate robot mode. It really just depends on whether you prefer a cooler car mode or cooler robot mode. Personally I want this one because it just looks that good in robot mode, and I really just want a definitive movie Bumblebee.
Also, I really hope a 3rd Party company makes add-ons for these MPM guys to give them heads with light up eyes. THAT would be brilliant.

Well if you look at some of the images it looks painted, but Hasbro's product shots for TRU makes it look like a more mustard yellow and simply yellow plastic. This makes me think that some of the Bees we're seeing are Takara and Hasbro's is what's gonna be sold at TRU with a less amazing paint job.
I just hope the one sold at TRU is at least the same level of QC and build as the Takara one; if there is a separate Takara one; instead of the whole cheap Bluestreak ordeal happening all over again.

Thats why I didnt label it as such in the title And I just explained what it was in detail in the explanation so that no one would get confused.

I figured this was going to be somewhere around $80 which still seems overpriced to be honest, But +100 is steeeeeeep. Would that also put MPM-04 pushing $200!!!!. Is there a Plastic shortage I don't know about or are Takara/Hasbro just taking us for a ride.
Hasbro confirmed a whiiile ago that the US price for MPM-03 would be $80, and MPM-04 would be $100.

I read that too but somethings not adding up. If googles currency exchange calculator is correct. The hasbro/takara releases may not be so identical after all. We'll have to wait and see. I hope I'm wrong.

Prices for Hasbro products in other countries are often quite inflated compared to that same product's price in the US.

Oh I fully intend to buy. This guy looks better every time I see it. My hats off to the designers. Engineering looks top notch, love that the wheels are actually accurately centered under his feet and not hanging off to the side. I was just shocked to see a sticker price that was $35 more than expected. Just makes me wonder if there are going to be some classic Hasbro cuts to hit that lower price point. They indicated that they would be identical but Takara often goes all out on better paint apps. In this case it could really make the difference for those looking for the definitive MP Bee. There were some questionable pics a while back that still have me concerned.

Again, Hasbro product prices in countries other than the US are higher when going via the exchange rate. It will still be $80 domestically, and the quality will be the same as like, say, the same product released in Europe. Japan however, headed by TakaraTomy, is a different story.

Currencies never add up since they are constantly changing and prices are settled at the local market way before they come out. So it wont add up, ever.
The price chosen for the US market was $80 and thats it. You wont find it for that exact same price elsewhere.
And to prove how nothing matches up, people in Japan are able to buy this toy for $67,71 http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1
And you wont be able to get that exact price anywhere else either.

To add on to what the others have said, the prices of TF figures in Singapore are horrendously inflated. Deluxes are SGD34.99 and Voyagers are SGD59.99...

Come on, he was just fine... appart from the very hairy hands that were just a tad distracting.
Anyway, I'll wait for it to come out locally. Let's hope it will be the same as the Classic MP-Bee. Horrendous price at first, then sale/clearance while there's LOT of stock for a long time.
