Transformers: The Fall of Cybetron isn't the only video game Transformers fans can look forward to in the Fall of 2012. Activision will also be releasing Transformers Prime: The Game for the various Nintendo platforms. See the teaser trailer and press release below.

New Action Brawler Game Planned to Launch this Year Exclusively on Nintendo Platforms

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. ATVI, is bringing the ultimate TRANSFORMERS video game experience to kids of all ages with the TRANSFORMERS PRIME video game. Based on the hit animated television show produced by Hasbro Studios and currently airing on The Hub television network in the U.S., the game lets fans play as their favorite AUTOBOT characters and embark on an action-packed adventure to save the earth from the evil MEGATRON and his new secret weapon. Players step into the roles of OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, ARCEE, AUTOBOT RATCHET, BULKHEAD and more as they explore unique vistas all around the world with brawler-style combat and diverse driving sequences. Along the way, gamers cultivate friendships with Jack, Miko and Raf – the human characters from the show – as Team Prime sets out to protect mankind and eliminate the DECEPTICONS once and for all.

"Hasbro Studios has done a phenomenal job with the TRANSFORMERS PRIME television show," said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. "We are collaborating closely with the series creators to capture all the adventure, humor and friendships from the show to create an authentic action experience for TRANSFORMERS fans of all ages to enjoy."

"Hasbro is thrilled to be working with Activision again on an exciting new TRANSFORMERS video game," said Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President of Digital Media and Marketing at Hasbro. "The TRANSFORMERS PRIME animated series has resonated strongly with kids and fans and we're looking forward to delivering this new way to experience the adventure."

TRANSFORMERS PRIME will hit stores later this year and is being developed exclusively for Nintendo's Wii™ system and the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system by Now Production (NowPro), and for the Nintendo DS™ hand-held system by Altron Corporation. The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Nintendo only? Well I'm out. The latest Nintendo system I have is Game Cube and I bought that two years ago for $35, otherwise I stopped at Color Gameboy. Lol.

Yeah, anybody who's played Nintendo only transformers games knows how suck this will be. Unless Activision (shudder) can pull a miracle out of their hats, were screwed, and I mean Royally.

Nintendo only? Guess I won't be playing this game. It'll probably suck anyway, with Activision assigning the project to some no-name developer. I have a Wii, so I could play it, but I have no desire to play a low-res TF game where I attack by waving my arms frantically. >:oP At least there's still Fall of Cybertron.

That's kind of lame that it's only for the Nintendo platform. I guess I will be borrowing my son's DS to check it out.

This looks terrible. Especially by the fact that they clearly used images of movie BB and movie Megs to try tie the 2 together. If your game isn't good enough to stand on it's own, so that you have to throw in shots of movie characters to try and pull in some of that audience as well, you must have a pretty shitty game.

This is one of the worst teasers I've ever seen. They just used the stock photos of the characters, mixed in with shots of their movie versions. Did anyone else see movie Optimus in there? >:oP

I feel for any Transformers fans that only have Nintendo machines that will have to make do with this sub-par game from Z-league studios.

That said, I do like the idea of it being a "brawler". You can't get much more visceral than robots tearing each other apart with their own hands, although I know this game won't be that intense.

so hasbro does like losing money, everyone knows cross platform means more money. Oh well one less crappy TF game to worry about now.

Sounds like the Transformers Animated game for ds, and yet another Nintendo Transformers game that seems like you can't transform at will. And the "trailer" reminded me of the flash-animated videos they used for DOTM stealth Force (yes, I played it for three levels, and yes, I cried). I know activision can make a good game under the right conditions, however, anything on a nintendo platform is the wrong conditions when it comes to Transformers (well I'll give Cybertron Stories a pass). Dig up the old atari team that made the PS2 Armada game and let them tackle the nintendo side of things cause that game was awesome. And if it's nintendo's fault somehow (you know by restricting the content and such) then just change the name to just change the name to "Kids who own Intergalactic Robots and talking Cars with Guns". :HEADHURTS:

Damn, why do they keep making the games for the stupid ass Nintendo systems? I want to play TF Prime on my PS3. I have a Wii, but I refuse to buy anything for that piece of crap.

:HEADHURTS: That makes NO sense. However, a suggestion - wii arcade my friend, N64 out the ass in there. I have the original N64 though, so no wii for me. There are also alot of the best SNES games to buy there as well. That's what the wii's good for imo. Oh, and Zelda. and Smash Bros. and gamecube games.:michaelbay:

I makes perfect sense. Mine is broken and i refuse to pay to get it fixed. I just chucked it in the trash. Wii is dead. Not even Zelda could save it in my eyes.

I loved the ds versions of the Transformer games. I hope they Put some effort in the Wii version. Transformers : the Game Was not bad (as long as you remember to lock on to enemies/swing nunchuk(whose dumb idea was to make camera control and swing same motion?)). Fallen was short and a graphical letdown (compared to first game)on the plus side Jetfire and better camera. DOTM .. Lets call it "hit and run"Not bad for a minigame/side game, BS for a full game.At least it came with a Bumblebee and Lockdown was awesome. Wii can do Better. The biggest problem with Wii is that the best games were not marketed at all,Most people think the only games are Wii sports and cheap party games.During N64 you had epic commercials like the Smash bros and the Xmas song that showed all the must have games. Does anyone remember commercial foe the great Metroid prime 3 Corruption? It was briefly shown in one of those Wii would like to play with the smart car.Madworld, Mario Galaxy, Red Steel 2. Where were their epic ads? The ones showing off the good Wii games? When the PS2 had shovelware, gamers got GTA and God of war. But on Wii people lost the gaming sense to pick up the non cashin games. Hopefully Wii U will not make the same mistake.

Looks like there's one or two posts here that think activision is the developer...Folks, activision is a publisher. They fund and publish the game - they don't actually make it.

And for the posts concerning it being Nintendo-only - it's their target audience. Nintendo is still the place to market kids and casual games.

Well, this teaser pretty much answers my question back when we first heard about the game. Oh well, I wasn't gonna get my hopes up over a game that garnered no attention up till now.
