Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Sabrblade's notification, we have confirmation of one of the cast members for the upcoming animated series Transformers: Cyberverse - produced by Hasbro and Boulder Media Studios - specifically, the leader of the Decepticon Seekers Slipstream!
The actress and singer Lianne Marie Dobbs announced on Instagram that she has been recording her episodes already, which also suggests the cast will not be doing ensemble direction but separate recording sessions then mixed in production and post-production. Part of the same universe as the series set in Griffin Rock and for all we know so far a direct sequel with a younger target audience, Rescue Bots Academy sees the new characters of Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist, and Wedge follow predecessors Heatwave, Chase, and Boulder in learning how to respond to emergency situations and become heroes at the Training Academy of the title. A group of young Bots fresh from Cybertron (Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist and Wedge), have the honor of being the first-ever class to enroll in Earth’s Rescue Bot Training Academy and learn how to become Earth heroes through hands-on experience.
While most of us feel like we're still recovering from the last Transformers Machinima animated show, Titans Return, it is almost time to jump down the rabbit hole again with the upcoming show Power of the Primes. It's because of this that the voice actor for Megatron in Combiner Wars, Titans Return, and POTP, Jason Marnocha, who is widely praised for being one of the highlights of the Trilogy, has started teasing POTP's premier. Coming fresh from his twitter account, he's shared an image of Megatron with the new Power of the Primes title graphic, accompanied by his caption of "Soon. Soooooooon..." (It's also worth noting that the poster sports a shiny new Machinima logo, as well.) Check out the image mirrored from his twitter below, and let us know if you'll be tuning in to Power of the Primes when it premiers sometime later this year. It'll feature big new names like Mark Hamill, Ron Perlman, and Greg Berger!
We have a small update on Rescue Bots Academy, the new animated series due from Hasbro's media productions, in collaboration with the studio Boulder Media: according to an article on CynopsisMedia, the show has moved up from a previously generic due date of in 2019 to in the fall (of 2018, we assume from the piece).
Transformers Rescue Bots Academy – which Sondon describes as “the same concept as Transformers Rescue Bots but more skewed to a preschool audience” – is slated to bow in the fall.
The article appears to also confirm the target audience - lowering the age bracket a little, perhaps - with Angela Sondon of Discovery Family also mentioning My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop's later incarnation, news we heard from the Hasbro presentation at Toy Fair 2018. TF fan site TFAt TM have posted another installment of their absolutely incredible series of audio clips from the original G1 Transformers cartoon! Pertaining this time to the episode "Heavy Metal War" specifically, the audio gives us not only behind the scenes banter from the likes of Wally Burr, but also extended or deleted scenes! These extra bits and pieces are fascinating to listen to, and they give more context and flesh to these stories we thought we knew so well!

For those who missed out on the first pressing of our #Transformers TV soundtrack release, we are very sorry about the frustration & that we underestimated demand BUT we are happy to announce that we just got the go ahead on a REPRESS! As announced earlier in the week, the official soundtrack for the original Transformers animated series from the 1980s was released today via Enjoy the Ride Records, and the official social media for the brand has been spotlighting some of its features!
At the time of writing, only the ThinkGeek Bumblebee edition is available, for $29.99, while the Optimus Prime/Megatron variant on the main Enjoy the Ride site is sold out.

The long sought after release of the music for the original Generation One series is upon us and in limited quantities per "Enjoy the Ride Records" and it's only going to be released in LP format. That's right, you'll need a vinyl record player or turnstyle table to play it. Goin' old school as it were. Here are some details about it:

This is the first official release of the score in any format and includes the iconic opening theme song and more than 45 minutes of unreleased music by composers Robert J. Walsh, Johnny Douglas, Anne Bryant and Ford Kinder. The album features music from seasons 1-3 of “The Transformers” animated series which debuted in 1984.

The unique collector’s edition albums feature original artwork including Japanese Catalog artwork from 1985 and will be available in three different retail exclusive vinyl colorways (each sold separately) corresponding with fan favorite characters Optimus Prime (Blue and Red Stripe With Gray Splatter), Bumblebee (Black and Yellow Stripe) and Megatron (Gray with Purple Splatter).

This piece of news from the New York Toy Fair aftermath is entirely thanks to Transformers Twitter, as users The Last Gherkin, Jalaguy and original source of the image TFU.info combined their efforts to provide the best resolution of the tidbit - but what we have thanks to them is a first look at the female Decepticon character due to appear in the animated Cyberverse series from Hasbro and Boulder Media: Shadow Striker!
