We've known a new series for Transformers is in the works for a while now, and rumours keep coming our way about its intended younger audience. Now, in an interview with KeepMeCurrent.com, producer Jeff Kline has confirmed that the new show is indeed happening, and is, in fact, 'in full-blown production'! Q: Of everything you’ve done, and everything you could do, why comic books?
A: Well, I’ve been almost five years going back and forth between the coasts. I’d like to live here more full-time. But it’s really hard to run a show from 3,000 miles away and, for the time being anyway, it seems like it’s going to be a hard time to get the networks to let me run an animated series out of Portland. I do still have a development deal with Hasbro. I have another “Transformers” series coming; that’s in full-blown production right now. I have a documentary I executive-produced that’s coming out this year, as well as other TV and movie projects, but I’ve been looking for something I can do from here. With comic books, you don’t have to be on a studio lot. It’s a lot of working with freelancers who can be anywhere in the country. It’s a business that’s very used to happening not in person. So, it’s a good business to start from my home in Cape Elizabeth.
The Official Transformers Facebook has posted another excerpt from the Transformers: Retribution novel by David J.Williams and Mark S. Williams. D.C. Douglas who plays Chase on Transformers Rescue Bots put together a fun little video on his Youtube channel to announce that season 2 starts on March 1. Watch as he gets the good news from his agent and proceeds to share the news with the bots. Check out the embedded video.
We finally have a confirmed air date for season 2 of Transformers: Resuce Bots! According the press release found below courtesy of ZAP2it season two will debut on The Hub Network on March 1st at 1:00 PM ET. LOS ANGELES — “Transformers Rescue Bots,” animated series, created especially for younger TRANSFORMERS fans, returns for its second season on Saturday, March 1, with two all-new, back-to-back episodes starting at 1:00 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT, on the Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families. Beginning on Saturday, March 8, new episodes of the show will air at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT. The series is produced by Hasbro Studios. In addition, HubNetwork.com will launch a fun-filled new match game called “Hero Hunt.”
The second season of “Transformers Rescue Bots” kicks off with action-packed, episode “Road Trip”, where a tricky transporter takes Cody for a crazy ride and Kade takes on a high-flying rescue mission. The second episode, “Sky Forest” has Cody and Frankie going head to head in a town inventor contest, leading to a jealous divide between the two. To make matters worse, Frankie's contest entry gets out of control, not only threatening her friendship with Cody and the Bots, but the safety of the entire island.
In the digital Rescue Bots game “Hero Hunt,” fans can get the Bots ready to roll by making the correct match and the more matches they make, the more points they score. Players will be challenged to complete each mission and see if they can make it to the end of the game. Viewers can get into the action at http://hubnetwork.com/herohunt.
“Transformers Rescue Bots” features a group of Autobots charged with a mission to protect and learn about humans. Stationed by Optimus Prime on a technologically advanced island, the Rescue Bots — Heatwave, Boulder, Blades and Chase — team with the Burns family of first responders, including a police chief, firefighter, rescue pilot and engineer to keep peace and safety in the city. Alongside their human friends, the Rescue Bots learn teamwork and heroism. The half-hour series brings family, heart, humor and adventure to the Transformers brand.

Shogo Hasui, the head designer of MP-10 and the following Masterpiece figures, tweeted this photo of the Reveal the Shield Legends Megatron on top of a sketch depicting a cartoon-accurate Megatron head, dated today, to pay respect to the passing of Seizō Katō, the Japanese voice actor for the character. Katō, who also played Galvatron in the series, died of complications of bladder cancer today at 11.40 am.
D.C. Douglas, voice of Chase on Rescue Bots and source of the rumored late January premier date for Rescue Bots, has taken to Facebook to state that the release has been pushed back. This evening on his Facebook page, Douglas posted,

If you're a Transformers fan with young kids, it can be a struggle to try to find a great show that balances your desire to pass Transformers along to the next generation with your desire to show your kids appropriate media. Rescue Bots was great for the young set, but only season 1 has been available for some time. We already know that season 2 is rumored to start soon, which is exciting news for young fans. But now, we have also heard in a new interview with Hasbro Studios' Stephen Davies, posted on WorldScreen.com, that a new show geared at young children is in the works. The interview is for members only, but we've quoted the relevant part below!
TV KIDS: What new shows do you have coming up?
DAVIES: We have this great new show, which is kind of the entry point forTransformers for littler boys called Transformers Rescue Bots. Although interestingly, when we reimagined Transformers for a younger generation, typically big brother doesn’t want to watch what little brother is watching, but because the Transformers brand resonates across so many generations and it’s so relevant and relatable, we’re actually finding that while we conceived Rescue Bots principally for 4- to 5-year-olds, the older brother, who is 7 or 8 years old, is also watching with little brother.
We just talked about co-viewing and children wanting to watch with their parents, well, now we have this show where little brother wants to watch with older brother and big brother also wants to watch with little brother, which is a phenomenal opportunity because, again, there are not a lot of shows where you have that kind of multigenerational appeal at all levels. In fact, Rescue Botsinspired us for our new chapter of Transformers, because Rescue Bots is a much simpler show to understand, the transformations are much simpler, and it’s a lighter, brighter, more humorous approach. So a lot of what we learned fromRescue Bots we are now applying to our new Transformers series.
It starts with Transformers; we’ve had several very successful seasons ofTransformers Prime. Excitedly, Finn Arnesen, who runs international distribution for us, is introducing our new Transformers series, which is a lot of fun because it really harkens back to the old Transformers: Generation 1 days. It’s a lighter, brighter more comedic show. It’s still full of all the wonderful characters that our fans love, but it’s really a complete reimagination of our Transformers series, which we will be rolling out next year.
