We have been told by a lot of fans that the first part of the final chapter of the Generations Selects manga is available at Takara's website.An English language transcript has been made available by Mohair and you will see it below. Written by Hayato Sakamoto writes and drawn by Akira Amemiya. Colourists include Ricken, Josh Perez, Kyarara Rena, Gufu Kandagawa, Onishi Rui and Yuki Ohshima, along with edits by Lebanon Sugi and Nimura Kouji.

Panel 1
In the beginning, there was the PRIMUS VANGUARD.

NARRATION
Once upon a time, in a certain ancient universe, fought the Warriors of the Seven Lights derived from “G One”.

NARRATION
They were led by the Golden Warrior, Primus, who founded the Primus Vanguard, defenders of the universe.

Panel 2
The BLUE PLANET is menaced by the VOK.

NARRATION
But this universe would come to be enshrouded in darkness.

NARRATION
The higher beings known as the Vok, who failed during the Beast Wars-

NARRATION
Arrived to destroy the universe.

Panel 3
CONVOY and GALVATRON are summoned.

NARRATION
In order to stop them-

NARRATION
Convoy, who held the power to defeat the Vok-

NARRATION
And Megatron, who held the power to merge with them, were summoned to the universe by Primus.

Panel 4
STAR CONVOY destroys the Vok.

NARRATION
Convoy would be granted the Silver Matrix by Primus, and was evolved into his ultimate form, Star Convoy, defeating the Vok in the process.

NARRATION
He was then bestowed with a mission from Primus: to gather the seven Star Powers and complete the Silver Matrix in order to protect the universe.

The SEVEN MATRIXES.

NARRATION
The seven Star Powers were held in seven Matrixes protected by Seven Warriors of Light.

NARRATION
It was said that whosoever gathered all seven would attain power over creation itself.

In truth, this universe was the one that existed before the creation of Convoy and Megatron’s universe: in other words, the “Precursor World” to their “Known World”.

NARRATION
This meant that, if and when the Precursor World was destroyed, they who held the Silver Matrix and its power over creation would in essence become the god of the Known World.

TURTLER and HALFSHELL, having a great time.

NARRATION
When Primus summoned Convoy and Galvatron from the Known World, a new enemy appeared to face them.

NARRATION
A being known only as “He” summoned Transformers to the Precursor Universe in order to create the future he desired.

PRIMACRON has a primo plan.

NARRATION
But another inhabitant of the Precursor World had the same plan! He who would create Unicron in the Known World: the scientist, Primacron.

NARRATION
Using the “Divine Power” he developed, Angolmois Energy, he planned to become god of the new world.

Primus summons his PRIMITIVES: the DINOBOTS.

NARRATION
In order to stop him, Primus once again summoned new warriors from the Known World.

NARRATION
They would change the future with the power of the future.

NARRATION
In this quiet but chaotic universe, the fated hour of the Precursor World had come…

And that is how our story begins.

NARRATION
The Precursor World, many years ago…

Big… You’re here, good…

Big receives his inheritance.

BRIGHTES
This is my end… I leave the Blue mantle to you…

BRIGHTES
You are to become commander. To become Blue Big Convoy!

The Straxuses get weepy (probably because they really wanted that sword…)

BRIGHTES
Beware the Specters…

STRAXUSES
Lord Brightes!

YELLOW SPLENDID CONVOY reports to Primus.

YELLOW SPLENDID CONVOY
Reporting in, sir…

PRIMUS
So the Specters have killed Brightes…

PRIMUS
And now… they’re all in danger…

YELLOW SPLENDID CONVOY
Yes…

The SPECTERS.

NARRATION
The Primus Vanguard were defenders of multidimensional space, keeping the peace using their Matrixes and the power of creation they held.

NARRATION
But they were menaced by their opposites, the inversion of their light: the Specters.

BLACK GO PRIME and the THREE MUSKETEERS face down the Specters.

NARRATION
As they were shadows, the light of the Matrixes was used to defeat the Specters. But as with all lights, they merely cast new shadows.

STRAXUS (offscreen)
Where are the Three Musketeers?! Master Black Lion? Anyone?!

NARRATION
Soon, the Primus Vanguard was driven to the brink of defeat.

In battle, PURPLE WICKED CONVOY receives a transmission.

BLUE BIG CONVOY (offscreen)
This is Blue Big Convoy, reporting in!

BLUE BIG CONVOY (offscreen)
I’ve obliterated the Specters here using maximum output from the α Matrix Cannon!

WHITE GALLANT CONVOY is figuring things out.

WHITE GALLANT CONVOY
Of course! Until now we’ve been saving the Matrixes’ light to stave off Specter outbreaks…

WHITE GALLANT CONVOY
What we need is to create a light so powerful it creates no shadow!

RED SENTINEL PRIME doesn’t like Blue’s idea.

BLUE BIG CONVOY (offscreen)
I would like to make a proposal! Let us release the full power of our seven Matrixes all at once!

GREEN TENDER CONVOY lays it out plain.

I enjoyed Transformers #25. Then Transformers: Galaxies #12 and Transformers: Escape #1 came out and I enjoyed them as well. It felt like things had finally turned around, or at least that the overall new-ish reboot series had started to. This feeling has been betrayed. By what?

Walking and talking. They're back, and I am not pleased.


That's right, if you missed your monthly dose of robotic characters talking at one another in the midst of all the actual things happening in the last few issues, well hold on to your easy chair because that will mean you aren't having to hold this comic and read it. This series has had a problem with momentum almost from the beginning, and any fears it had turned a corner on this have not been assuaged. Sometimes it's good to have a break from the action, to take a beat to reset things and let the characters react to and stew about in everything that has occurred. That's what this issue attempts to do, but it hasn't earned it yet. The battle in issue 25 presumably just ends and everyone goes back to their bases. It's like if Hot Rod opened the matrix from within Unicron then popped back over to Autobot City to regroup. I don't get it.


Maybe it's a "me" thing, but I'm not the only one on staff just disillusioned with this book, so maybe it's an "us" thing that doesn't apply to you, reader of this review. An extremely cursory look at Amazon reviews for the second hardcover volume of the series shows it has an audience, and if you indeed prefer Transformers to not be an action series then this issue is probably for you - and you should ignore my score at the end if this applies.


It's not just a lack of fighting though, Transformers can do cool things outside of that. However, very little of that is present here either, with only some last page "please come back next month" reveals doing anything remotely within the realm of on-brand for the Transformers franchise. There are also some plot progressions that are significant, all surrounding Megatron, so while the issue's not a total dud its density still leaves something to be desired.


The visual presentation is excellent regardless of what it's depicting, with Anna Malkova again on line art providing some long-due consistency as well as continued improvement. David Garcia Cruz is now handling colors and while my limited art vocabulary won't be able to articulate this very well, there's a depth he's given to the linework here that I really appreciate. The sunset lighting effect throughout is a great touch and used appropriately for the environment in which the characters are present. Jake M. Wood has the unenviable task of fitting in some super dense word balloons within limited page space, but does well at placement and in addition of beats in between paragraphs. Perhaps the editorial grouping of David Mariotte and Riley Farmer can work with writer Brian Ruckley to make some of those a bit more succinct.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, Sabrblade has let us know that Takara Tomy have uploaded the next chapter in their ongoing Transformers Generations Selects Manga! This one carries on the story of the previous chapter, where Abominus was running riot and poor Spike paid the ultimate price for trusting the villainous Quintessons...























Sabrblade has also provided a description of what happens, including an interesting tidbit about why Primus differs from the design seen else where in the manga, as it turns out this one was designed by Ban Magami instead of the usual mangaka, Hayato Sakomoto.

Sabrblade wrote:The dying Spike gets his mind put into a new version of Autobot X called "Neo Autobot X" (well, "Neo Cybertron X" in the Japanese text) that's made of Weaponizer/Powerdasher/Modulator parts.

Rodimus Unicronus, Netflix Mirage, Netflix Scrapface, and Selects SG Ratchet are repurposed as evil forms of Hot Rod, Mirage, Reflector, and Ratchet corrupted by Angolmois Energy.

Siege Raindance and Grand Slam also appear.

Computron, Superion, and Defensor share limbs to form Comperian. In response, Abominus forces Bruticus and Menasor to share their limbs with him to form Abomenaticus.

Though, Blast Off looks more like the Hasbro Amazon version of the mold instead of the Takara Unite Warriors version, being dark brown instead of bronze.

G2 Dreadwing is now in his Thrilling 30 toy body, while Smokescreen is in his Earthrise toy body.

Jan and Illumina from Victory are all grown up, married, and have a kid of their own.

Megatron Omega goes critical and blasts Optimus dead, making his look like his Amazon-exclusive Alternate Universe toy. But his Reconfiguration Matrix brings him back to life rather quickly. So his brief death was just another excuse to get another toy into the story.

Abominus has a new energy beam attack fired from his tummy called "Angolmois Terror Storm".

Megatron Omega absorbs all of the Angolmois Energy from said attack and grows giant sized. Like, bigger than Titan class sized.

The name of Volcanicus's sword "Magma Blade" is misspelled as "Magna Blade".

Abominus decapitates Megatron Omega with his Terror Breaster, using an attack called "Angolmois Terror Cutter". But, Megatron just puts is head right back on like no problem.

On Planet Zone, Dai Atlas and the Powered Masters are met through a Warp Hole by Primus, the Golden Lagoon toys, the 2002 e-HOBBY Meister Gold Version toy (for Jazz), and the mysterious Mutant Beast Wars Soundwave that first appeared in the e-HOBBY Convobat and Magna Convoy manga as a redeco of Titans Return Mindwipe with Titan Master Nightbeat as his head.

The reason Primus looks so different in that last panel of the final page is simply because he (and no one else in that panel) was drawn specifically by Ban Magami instead of Hayato Sakamoto.

Were you one of those wonderful folks who backed the Haslab Unicron figure through Hasbro Pulse, and thus helped us successfully fund him? Well if you were, one of the special benefits of pre-ordering through Hasbro Pulse is now available!

As you might recall, those who pre-ordered through Hasbro Pulse were promised a special comic bundle should Unicron be successfully backed. As of this writing, a special code for each individual who pre-ordered through Pulse has been emailed to each of the backers, and this code unlocks your Comixology comic bundle. The comic bundle will feature an all-new Unicron cover by artist Andrew Griffith.
