According to NYMag.com, Michael Bay is VERY close to signing a deal for Transformers 4.
Claude Brodesser-Akner wrote:Another insider familiar with the situation cautioned that while Paramount “does not have a closed deal” with Bay, the studio “is not far from closing” on one either, and that an announcement could come as early as next week. Meanwhile, the details of the next cyborg saga are being kept secret, but we’re told that it is definitely not a prequel, and that it will delve deeper into Transformers canon to mine older characters and lore. "Regular people might not care about bringing out a character like Sentinel Prime," says one of our insiders, referring to the little-known character who played a major part in last summer’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, "But believe me, fans of the series cared."
We're going to try something a little bit different for Episode 34 of the Twincast.
We're going to be taking calls live via Skype. This is your chance to jump in and tell us what you think, tell us off, ask us questions, whatever works; we're game. The point is, we need you to make this episode happen
Here's how to get in on this....
Send a Skype Friend Request to counterpunch_seibertron. I'll add them all in the night before we record. Then, just be on Skype between 9 and 11 pm on December 8. We'll buzz you in and you can have your shot at luke warm internet fame.
Alternately, you can drop us questions or comments on Twitter during the same time period by sending them to @ME_Counterpunch We will do our best to hit those up as well.
It's as simple as that. Hit up the news post with any questions. We'll see you in a few days!
Michael Bay answers questions at the Premiere of the new Tranformers The Ride. When asked about a potential 4th and 5th movie he responds:
"...We are talkin’ about it. But there is no, nothing right now. I’m gonna do a tiny movie first. Then we’ll talk about it if I potentially do it. If I do 4, not saying I am, but just… er… if I were to, I would make sure it would be state-of-the-art of whatever the new greatest thing in 3D, how you do it..."
He also touches briefly on a "small" movie he is doing first and then he will know more about a 4th movie with Steven Spielberg. The small movie might just be Bad Boys 3, who knows?
Check out the video interview and see his explosive entrance and impressive Bumblebee and Optimus Prime escorts.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's time for a new episode of the Seibertron.comTwincast/Podcast, featuring Counterpunch, Jon3.0, Tigertracks, Seibertron and Razorclaw.
We have another week thick with news, but first we do a bit of housekeeping, and discuss the emails that Razorclaw received at ihaterazorclaw@seibertron.com regarding the last episode's discussion of TFC Toys' Hercules and Maketoy's Giant figures. We answer some listener emails from joevill, rpetras, and Ariel Brenman. Will Razorclaw be swayed? Listen to find out!
In terms of news, we get angry at Counterpunch for finding the brand new Transformers Prime Arcee, Bumblebee, and Starscream deluxe class toys at his local Toys R Us.
We then turn our attention to the latest version of the Dark of the Moon Leader Class Optimus Prime toy which Takara Tomy released a couple of weeks ago: Striker Optimus!
Finally, we discuss our featured topic for this podcast - "Holy Grails", hot on the heels of Seibertron's recent purchases of Grand Maximus and Black Zarak. Ryan's purchase of Grand Maximus ends a 15 year hunt that began back in 1996.
The Podcast staff follows suit discussing each of their currently owned and desired Holy Grails.

For those of you who are fans of Playskool's Transformers Rescue Bots, here's some exciting information that was sent to us here at Seibertron.com earlier today.
The Hub TV Network has some news to share about "Transformers Rescue Bots," the upcoming new animated Transformers series, created specifically for younger viewers. A sneak peek of the first two episodes of the new original half-hour series “Transformers Rescue Bots” will be presented Saturday, December 17, from 12 – 1 p.m. ET. More information and images will follow in the coming weeks.
Created for the younger generation of Transformers fans, the new series from the creators of “Transformers Prime” will feature a simpler, more traditional animation style in a show that centers on a group of Autobots charged by Optimus Prime himself with protecting and learning about humans while stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard that serves as a high-tech testing ground. Voice talent include Steve Blum (voice of Starscream on “Transformers Prime”), John DiMaggio (voice of Bender on “Futurama”), Maurice LaMarche (voice of Morbo and Calculon on “Futurama”), Lacey Chabert ("Party of Five") and LeVar Burton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”).
We're excited about having the new series AND season two of “Transformers Prime” on The Hub’s schedule early next year!
"Transformers Rescue Bots" Series Logline: From the creators of "Transformers Prime" comes an all-new animated series following a group of Autobots charged with a mission to protect and learn about humans. Stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard by Optimus Prime, the "Transformers Rescue Bots" – Heatwave, Boulder, Blades and Chase – team with a human family of first responders including a police chief, firefighter, rescue pilot and engineer to maintain peace and safety in their new found home. Alongside their new human friends, the Transformers Rescue Bots learn teamwork and heroism in a series that brings action, adventure, heart, and humor to the Transformers brand.
