Hasbro Announces Quarterly Cash Dividend on Common Shares
PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.57 per common share. The dividend will be payable on August 15, 2017 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 1, 2017.

We've just received news from Hasbro concerning the NASA Optimus Prime Spinoff Promotion and Research Challenge (OPSPARC), which sought to find a new student science project that can commercialize NASA technology products - with a More Than Meets the Eye theme!
This is not the first time NASA and Hasbro Transformers have partnered up - you might remember Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime explaining the Hubble Telescope's successor (here), too. Check out more information on the winners of the Challenge below!
NASA’s TRANSFORMERS OPTIMUS PRIME Spinoff Promotion and Research Challenge 2017 has Found its Spark
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, is pleased to announce the winners of NASA’s 2017 TRANSFORMERS OPTIMUS PRIME Spinoff Promotion and Research Challenge (OPSPARC).
Sponsored by science enrichment provider Mad Science and leading science fiction and fantasy book imprint, Tor Books, the contest called for students in grades 3 through 12 to “Be the Spark” and use NASA technology to create spinoffs that are… “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.” Spinoffs are NASA developed technologies that are repurposed and commercialized. One famous example is memory foam. Students shared their ideas on student-designed digital posterboards, called “Glogs,” using a cloud-based, interactive learning and multimedia platform made by Glogster.
High school winners Nick Perlaky, Erik Fong, Atherton Mook and Hays Mook, with their college mentor, Kelly DeRees, won their category with their InWorld presentation “Microshutter Array Fiber Optics,” which was based on the James Webb Space Telescope’s microshutter array technology.

Sienna Paggao, Carolyn Chambers, Olivia Turnage and Mila Ahsaei won the elementary age group with their Glog “Hydro Electric House.” Alexa Tabibian and Ellie Jones were selected as middle school winners with their Glog “Thermawing Greenhouse (Thermabed).” Nick Perlaky, Erik Fong, Atherton Mook and Hays Mook, along with college mentor Kelly DeRees, won the high school age group with their InWorld presentation “Microshutter Array Fiber Optics.”
The winners of the 2017 OPSPARC competition will visit NASA Goddard for a workshop and awards ceremony to be held in their honor from June 21 through June 22, 2017. As part of the workshop, the winners will meet with some of Goddard’s top scientists and engineers, go on a behind-the-scenes tour and create their own public service announcement video with guidance from NASA video producers and actor Peter Cullen, the voice of the TRANSFORMERS character OPTIMUS PRIME.
As part of OPSPARC 2017, students gave life to NASA inspired spinoff ideas, just as the “ALLSPARK” gave life to TRANSFORMERS. Students created “Glogs” that showcased what a spinoff is and their original spinoff concepts.
In response to the challenge, OPSPARC received more than 800 entries from students nationwide. A panel of OPSPARC judges from NASA scored the Glog submissions and narrowed them down to 10 finalists from each grade category (grades 3 through 5, 6 through 8, and 9 through 12) for the public to vote on their favorites. The voting period was from April 24 to May 1, 2017.
The National Institute of Aerospace oversees the two-phased competition for high school students. During phase one, students created their “Glogs” and came up with their spinoff concepts. During phase two, 14 teams were invited to work with college student mentors to further develop their spinoff ideas in InWorld, a 3-D, multi-user, virtual world setting that uses a variety of virtual models depict the spinoff concepts.

Hasbro has unveiled MPM4 Masterpiece Movie Optimus Prime and have now sent us the official stock images along with a description of the product. From previous leaks we know that this toy will be available as a Toysrus Exclusive in the US for a hundred dollars. There are a few discrepencies between the stock images and the reveal, as well as the box art, with the gun being left unpainted in a stock image. As we know, season 3 (the actual season 3) of Transformers: Robots in Disguise will be arriving on Cartoon Network at the end of the month - we also now have a trailer for the next step in the animated series! Featuring Soundwave's voice, Blurr, Stunticons, and even more Combiners.
It's bad enough when you have to deal with the Decepticons year in and year out, but when they start combining into gargantuan versions of themselves things become even more stressful.
That's the premise of the third season of Transformers: Robots in Disguise, which will hit Cartoon Network on April 29th. Bumblebee's squad of Autobots will have to figure out how to work together to take down the new threat, but the Decepticons aren't going to make it easy. In fact, the only way to beat them might require for the Autobots to do some combining of their own.
Many of your favorite Autobots are making a return, but there will be a few new faces joining the battle as well. Transformers: Robots In Disguise stars Mitchell Whitfield (Fixit), Khary Payton (Grimlock), Will Friedle (Bumblebee), Constance Zimmer (Strongarm), Darren Criss (Sideswipe), Stuart Allan (Russell Clay), Ted McGinley (Denny Clay), Eric Bauza (Drift), Rager Craig Smith (Jetstorm), and Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime).

Created by Hasbro Studios, the series focuses on Bumblebee as the leader of the Autobots as they seek to save the Earth from the Decepticons.
The season 3 theme is “Combiner Force” and the Autobots and Decepticons will take the battle between good and evil to new heights with the creation of Combiners – teams of Transformers who combine forces to create larger, more powerful bots. Bumblebee and the Autobot team must learn how to fight the Decepticons when combined with one another and truly work as one.

Real-time combat strategy mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars is rolling out its Beast Wars update this month featuring a series of new characters and events, culminating in the arrival of Optimus Primal and Megatron T-Rex on April 20. The Beast Wars story centers around Grimlock, who decides to bring Transformers back from the future. Grimlock gets it wrong and brings characters from the past -- Beast Wars characters! Players who are HQ Level 4 and up can unlock this story through weekly events, and by leveling up their characters.
To celebrate the update, Beast Wars TV show and game writer Simon Furman will be doing a livestream on Thursday, April 6 at 4pm UTC to explore the saga. Fans can tune in to the livestream by visiting: twitch.tv/transformersearthwars.
Transformers: Earth Wars is published by Backflip Studios (DragonVale, Ninjump, Paper Toss) and developed by Space Ape Games (Rival Kingdoms, Samurai Siege). Thanks to the convention's own twitter, we have confirmation that the upcoming Pete's Robot Convention this summer will not only show the proposed toys for a Botcon 2017 - one that unfortunately will never happen - but will also give away what would have been the 5-piece set as a possible prize to anyone who pre-registers the convention, which you can do on their website - just make sure to do it by April 15th!
While the identities of the four other figures in the set are unknown - though four Sixshot silhouettes loom suspiciously in the background - the Twitter account has revealed the first figure to be Skyfall; the Action Master who achieved some infamy among the fandom through an IDW prose story! Made from the Titans Return Highbrow mold and using the Titan Master Apeface, he is a very faithful re-creation of his original toy's colour scheme.
In addition to this extremely illustrious prize, we are also told that there will be a panel featuring the creative team behind many Botcon exclusive toys over the years, not to mention a look at some of the many unused concepts during their time on the job. Boulder Media, which is an Irish-based animation company based out of Dublin and whom was bought by Hasbro last year, has been confirmed to be working on a new Transformers Series! This information comes to us in the form of a Newsletter where Boulder Media discusses upcoming projects such as the new Transformers animated series, a new My Little Pony, and even Micronauts are mentioned! Now, we have no information regarding what the TV series would be or whether or not it will be related to current projects, but I am sure we will find out soon enough!

DUBLIN and PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Boulder Media, which was acquired in 2016 by Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), is adding several new animation positions to its operations in Dublin. To house the expanded team, Boulder Media will be relocating to a larger studio space in the summer.
The Studio, which currently employs a crew of 160, is ramping up its hiring significantly to support its growing production pipeline. Boulder Media is currently recruiting for positions in conceptual design, 2D and 3D animation, as well as animated CG feature film.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled about the opportunities we can offer our crew,” said Robert Cullen, creative director, Boulder Media. “We’re bringing to life some of the world’s most famous and popular brands here in Dublin. It’s unique and very special both for our studio and the local industry.”
The Studio’s expansion will support a growing slate of entertainment around Hasbro brands such as TRANSFORMERS, LITTLEST PET SHOP and MICRONAUTS, as well as animated series on behalf of third-party clients.
