Dawson Racing + Hasbro Partnership For Transformers Racing Team

The father and son duo of Ian Dawson and Simon Dawson today announced the launch of their new team called Dawson Racing, a division of the D3 brand. With 45 years of sports industry experience and their passion for motorsports as the driving force behind the company, their new business now encompasses the third generation of Dawsons' with Simon's son's birth in June 2008.

In addition, they're further excited to announce that Hasbro will join them for the creation of the D3+Transformers Racing Team for 2018 and beyond.

The team will field a new 2018 Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class car in the International Motor Sport Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series as part of a three-year program commencing in 2018. The popularity of the Transformers toy line will be significant with Transformers-themed livery.

"We are very pleased to collaborate with D3 and the Dawson family to be part of this exciting racing program," said Tom Warner, senior vice president, Transformers franchise. "We're always looking for innovative ways to be more than meets the eye and connect Transformers with families and fans of all ages. We are excited to team up with a first-class racing team and series with a brand that has a natural fit for cars and fans of all ages."

The D3+Transformers Racing team's one show car will be making their first official appearance at HASCON in Providence, R.I. September 8th -10th. This will be the first time all the Hasbro brands are under one roof for an interactive and hands-on Hasbro play experience. From fan favorites to family fun, grown-ups and kids alike will celebrate the power of play at the first-of-its kind "con"vention. The D3+Transformers show car will be part of the wildly popular Transformers exhibit, complete with actual Transformers, providing a great introduction into the combined world of racing and toys.

The Inaugural Convention Kicks Off September 8th with IDW Panels, Exclusives, Special Guests, and more!

San Diego, CA (September 6, 2017) – IDW is joining longtime partner HASBRO for their debut convention in Providence, Rhode Island – HASCON! Stan Bush will be in concert at HASCON (Hasbro/Transformers convention) on Sept 9, and will be on hand for autographs throughout the weekend of Sept 8-10! Stan will be there promoting his new album “Change the World”. The official release of the album is Sept 22, but advance copies will be available at the convention.

The “Change the World” album includes “Never Surrender” from the “Kickboxer” movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, and “Warrior” from the Shadow Warrior 2 game. The title track “Change the World,” one of Stan’s best songs contains a message of hope and unity. “Born to Win” and “Live Your Dream” are songs about winning and believing in yourself. The album also includes the iconic Stan Bush songs “The Touch” and “Dare” from “Transformers: The Movie.

PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON TRAVIS KNIGHT’S NEW FILM BEGINS MONDAY, JULY 31st
The film will shoot entirely in California

HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 31, 2017) – Paramount Pictures, in association with HASBRO, announced today that principal photography has commenced on “BUMBLEBEE.” The film’s shoot will take place entirely in California, including in Southern and Northern California.

Directed by Travis Knight (“KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS,” “CORALINE”), the film stars Hailee Steinfeld (“EDGE OF SEVENTEEN”), Pamela Adlon (“BETTER THINGS,””LOUIE”), John Cena (“DADDY’S HOME 2,” “TRAINWRECK”), Stephen Schneider (Comedy Central’s “BROAD CITY”), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (“SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING”), Jason Drucker (“DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: THE LONG HAUL”), Kenneth Choi (“AMERICAN CRIME STORY”), Ricardo Hoyos (“DEGRASSI: NEXT CLASS”), Abby Quinn (“LANDLINE,” “THE SISTERHOOD OF THE NIGHT”), Rachel Crow (“DEIDRA & LANEY ROB A TRAIN”), and Grace Dzienny (“ZOO”).

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

The film is produced by “TRANSFORMERS” franchise veterans Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Michael Bay, along with executive producers Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Chris Brigham (“ARGO,” “INCEPTION”) will also executive produce. The screenplay is written by Christina Hodson (“UNFORGETTABLE”).
