OTFCC $65 figure actually a 2-pack?

[UPDATE!] This has been confirmed!

I´ve just recieved word that the repainted Sideburn is actually part of a 2-pack of figures that´ll be released at OTFCC. What is the other figure in the pack? It´s the same figure, with a different colorscheme. Since the $65 exclusive was long thought to be a repaint/remold of either RiD Optimus Prime or RiD Ultra Magnus, this comes as quite a shock. This is in no way confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

This afternoon, we all heard the news that BotCon 2003 would now be called "The Official Transformers Brand Collector´s Convention". And about thirty seconds later topics popped up on just about every Transformers Message Board in existance. I´ve had the pleasure of reading these posts on several different boards and there´s yet to be a single voice supporting the name change. Many people have used the phrase "Worst namechange EVER!" in homage to The Simpsons´ Comic Book Guy. However, is it true that this is the worst name change ever? Certainly, The Official Transformers Brand Collector´s Convention isn´t as catchy as BotCon. But that doesn´t mean it´s the worst name change EVER. Would could forget Bumblebee changing his name to Goldbug? Or the alteration of Hot Rod to Rodimus Major? Many fans would argue that Rodimus Major was the worst name change ever. Until it´s been absolutely confirmed, it´s still just a rumor. In an effort to bring you the truth about this rumor, cast your vote here to determine if this is, in fact, the worst namechange EVER!

The latest rumor to reach my inbox concerns Heroes of Cybertron wave 4. The rumor is simply that it will feature a Fortress Maximus chase figure. Exactly how this would work is a mystery. It could be a "chase" figure in the same way as the He-Man chase figures are. Meaning that it´ll be in plain site, but will ship in very small numbers, perhaps replacing two or three regular figures in a case assortment.

Here´s a rumor that´s been popping up in my mailbox a lot in the last few weeks. It´s rumored that one of the BotCon exclusives be a Machine Wars Jet given a familiar G1 colorscheme? Could THIS be the Hotel Exclusive? After all, it IS bigger than a Basic, smaller than a Mega.

It was revealed today that Hasbro has had their Unicron figure planned since 2001! This was before we had seen ANYTHING from the Armada line. While it´s truly amazing that Hasbro was able to keep this figure under wraps for so long, it truly makes us wonder, just what else have they been able to hide from the fandom´s prying eyes? We´ll just have to wait and see...

What will the BotCon2K3 Exclusives be?

BotCon won´t be for another couple of months, but already speculation as to what the annual convention will feature as exclusives this year? Some say it´ll be a repaint of RiD Optimus Prime as Hot Spot, others swear it´ll be a G1 style Laser Optimus Prime. Everyone seems to agree that RiD Prowl will get a red-repaint and become Sideswipe. And what of the mysterious Hotel Exclusive? Little or nothing is know about this figure. And even with no information at all about its identity fans still know that they want it. Will this years convention feature more minibot keychain repaints? Most likely, but what Minibot will recieve the the honor of becoming the BotCon2K3 repaint? And what colors will they appear in? I know this news is not transformers related but i think its very interesting,
according to one of cinescape.com´s
sources, Hasbro, the toy manufacturer of the G.I. JOE & Transformers line may
be in the very end of closing a deal with an important hollywood studio for the
film rights of G.I.JOE, The important Hollywood studio is nothing but DreamWorks
Pictures itself, i have put this as a news/rumors because no official information

Metrotitan to be reissued?

Yet another rumor that made its way to The Smooth One´s mailbox: Takara is considering putting out a reissue of the Japanese exclusive Metrotitan (Which, for those of you who don´t know, is an evil repaint of Metroplex). This one is highly unlikely, given Takara´s focus on the smaller G1 cars/jets lately. So basically, don´t hold your breath waiting for this one.

TFTM to be Included with Rhino's Season 3 DVD?

Here´s a rumor that´s been making the rounds lately. The first part of the Season 3 boxed set will include one very large 87 minute extra. Transformers: The Movie. Since Rebirth is said to be included in Season 3 Part 2, having TFTM on the first boxed set would serve to balance the scales. This is, in no way, confirmed, but we hope to have confirmation either way in the near future. Keep ´em glued to this page for any updates!

MyClone Unicron?

Word has been making its way around that a future MyClone set will feature a deluxe Unicron. The figure would be split into several different parts and be included with the regular figures. There´s no confirmation on this yet, but honestly, nothing says "Japanese Transformer" like a 5 inch tall super-deformed Unicron!
