Exemplar's Bio
Current Status – Active Duty
Position – Second in Command
At first glance, Exemplar seems like any battle weary Maximal who serves on the front lines today. It wouldn’t take much to find the truth to this Maximal. It would take but a single question – Who are you?
Exemplar’s birth was one of controversary. He was born when an accident in a medical unit fused the sparks of teammates Maximus-Prime and Gadgett together into a new single spark. The new spark flew forward into the battle damaged body of Maximus-Prime and began to reformat it into a new Transformer – Exemplar.
He contained all the memories and personality traits of both Maximus-Prime and Gadgett. He had taken everything that made up both of those sparks and changed it into his own. It was this strange fusion that the Autobot High Command stepped in. They ordered that he was to be brought to Autobot City to be disassembled for further study.
He managed to escape capture for a short time. He was bombarded by memories of past lives and experiences, ones he was sure he’d never lived. He found his way back to Team – Unique Name’s headquarters. When he got inside, something felt wrong. He seemed drawn to the Hall of Heroes. In there were holograms of all the fallen members of the team. 2 in particular spoke to him – Gagdett and Maximus-Prime. Optimal Prime walked in behind him and spoke to him like he’d known him al his life. He spoke of Maximus-Prime, an Autobot from a different dimension who was created after the matrix shattered. He was almost exactly like Optimus Prime except he carried no Matrix. Optimal Prime spoke of Gadgett – the team’s medic who gave his life to save fallen Autobots in combat again.
After a short walk to his office ie the medical faciluty, He explained what had happen, why the sparks were in that room, why the accident had even the slightest chance of happening. Optimal Prime was creating clones of his fallen team. The 2 sparks were going into another room to be cloned but the accident happened.
It took some time for Optimal Prime to explain why the AHC was after Exemplar. It stemmed down to the fact that he was an unforeseen creature. It he could be duplicated, maybe they could create better warriors from fallen soldiers. They were also after the Optimal Prime because of his outlawed cloning experiments.
It might have been the Autobots in him, but Exemplar told Optimal Prime to finish his cloning. He would lead the new team. Decepticons had to be stopped and team leader Cheetron had to be found. The deaths of the entire team were to be avenged.
It did not take long for things to go crazy. The AHC deemed Cheetron was rogue. Optimal Prime was stripped of his rank as team commander. The cloned version of Gadgett was mutating into something nobody could foresee. A take charge Autobot by the name of back-up joined the team. The hunt for Exemplar began again.
A cycle went by and things hadn’t grown any better. They were on the run and still trying to save lives. Many of the clones had been destroyed in battle and with no CR chambers around, were left behind. It took the miraculous return of Cheetron to save these transformers.
Cheetron had a plan. He was tired of dodging the Autobot headhunters after him and the team. They were leaving the Autobots for the Maximals. It took weeks of searching but the team finally made it to the base of the Maximals.
Exemplar fit right in with the Maximals. They were easy going but ready to battle if they were forced to. They didn’t treat him as an experiment. He made friends and in the words of a joking teammate Sneaks – He became a real boy.
The memories of Maximus-Prime began to flood his mind. In his own reality, Maximus-Prime was an offshoot of Optimus Prime. But now that his spark was a part of Exemplars, they were forever Autobots. But what is an Autobot is he is now a Maximal. The older personality was fighting to gain control of Exemplar – it was using emotions to eat away at Exemplar’s sanity.
Despite being second in command, Exemplar was rarely participating at all. Most solar days he could be found in bars. It was through strong Energon that he could stop the guilt from overwhelming him. He felt like he betrayed the Autobots by leaving them. It didn’t matter that they had hunted him for the purpose to dissection, Maximus-Prime’s memories continued to sway him. After the second month of drowning his problems, he received news on the teams’ rookie member – Sneaks. He had been killed.
Sneaks had died saving Cheetron from some headhunters that had broken into their new base. Exemplar felt like a coward for giving into the bad feelings while his teammates were in trouble. He began to get a measure of control over the influence within him when a new trap was sprung.
Since Maximus-Prime was created from a shard of an original matrix, he contained all the memories and personalities of all those who had fallen in the countless centuraies since its creation. Millions of Transformers personalities flooded into Exemplars’ spark. There were too many to fight against. He was overwhelmed in a nanosecond and was suppressed.
It didn’t take long for his teammates to notice something was amiss. His personality would change from one minute to the next. He could be kind and caring and then cold and just plain evil the next. And it just kept happening. There was no pattern in this and no personality would appear more than once. Some were thousand of cycles old, some were just 5. Nobody knew what to do.
He was confined to a room under the strictest supervision. The Maximal scientists wanted to know what was wrong. The entire team was concerned and was trying to help to no avail. It wasn’t until Gadget entered the room to try to help that things got even stranger.
A familiar personality emerged from Exemplar. It didn’t just emerge; it broke free of its restraints and attacked Gadgett. Gadget fought it off and with help, got it restrained. It was then that this creature demanded that he be let free, he was the real Gadgett, this one was a fake! Sure the Gadgett standing free had a cloned spark of the original and was actually mutating thanks to a blast from the Matrix but he had reclaimed the true spark of Gadgett.
Nobody knew what to do. It was during this time that Back-up had undergone training with the Oracle. He had come out a different Transformer. His rage was gone and he was in complete control of his life. He even changed his name to Fall Back. The only solution was to consult the Oracle to see if she had any insight.
The Oracle had foreseen this event. It was during the spiritual communion of fall back that a vision presented itself to her. A millions voices in unison all crying out in pain. She had not known what it pertained to until today. The vision showed no answer.
Fall Back’s friend Optimus Primal heard about what had happened and told the team of a tale about a former maximal named Tigerhawk. He told of how the Vok had destroyed Tigatron and Airrazor and merged their sparks into on and gave them a new body. Cheetor had eventually helped to bring both sparks together into one. Tigerhawk had perished not long after his rebirth. But Primal had been brought back; maybe the Oracle could contact him for help.
Exemplar was brought into the Oracle chamber. She ordered it sealed. It was not opened for 2 cycles. Nobody knew what was going on.
The doors opened. Out came this pure white technorganic cheetah. Cheetron had stood watch for many solar days and noticed a resemblance to his alt mode and the pure white of exemplar’s alt modes of the past. The Maximal Transformed into Exemplar! Cheetron was shocked. The new cheetah told Cheetron on how he had learned to make peace with all the sparks within him and forge everyone into a single entity.
He was a new Maximal again.
This time with the Oracle’s help, he would stay that way.
May the Oracle shine her mercy upon his spark...
