The only thing Hot Rod and Starscream have going for them is that packaging.

But it's a box ... it may as well be empty. I don't even need to take them out to display them, I already have multiples, so investing in box art is just ... I may as well waste money on NFT's.
(That's not a suggestion either Hasbro)

If I see them in-store, I might get them. Hot Rod for my Hot Rod/Rodimus shelf, and Starscream because he would look good next to my G1 Soundwave and G1 Megatron.

Must be a Canadian thing, both of my local Walmarts had Soundwave and his tapes on clearance, I picked up two of each for around $80. I think the only reissues I never saw hit clearance were Devastator, Starscream, Outback (not sure why he was such a big seller) and the dino tape 3 pack which I don't think was sold in stores (got mine on Walmart.com).

Pre-ordered this Starscream and Hot Rod because they're the colors I've always wanted and I really like the way they turned out (except for the box). Plus my G1 Starscream is the first Takara 2001 reissue (not the one with the disc) and I've always wanted the 2003 retool.

It's weird that some Hasbro closed boxes have pictures of the figures on the front, but Transformers are all art. You'd think they'd be consistent.

I like these Movie style G1 figures but I just can't right now at that price. I wonder if they'll do more.

The prices surprised me. Hot Rod's price is only slightly increased from the previous release and Stascream's is lower. Hasbro kept prices down for these.

Really makes you wonder what happened with the Tonka bots price. Arbitrary crossover markup I guess.

We can all agree that the reissue of G1 Optimus Prime without his trailer at freaking 60 mother effing Canadian dollars was an absurd and ludicrous price. So if they'd re-release that again in "anime colors" today, I wonder what price would it be?

No, they were never available, and Pulse hasn't even listed them yet. The Walmart event runs through tomorrow so they should be available tomorrow morning.

Ok it is now Friday morning, Still nothing on Walmarts end...it's just annoying that these could drop at any moment without announcement and be gone just as quickly.

Starscream is exactly voyager priced so it's cheaper than I expected perfectly fair.
I have to say, I want that one. I already have Encore Starscream so I skipped the first reissue. But this one is different enough and it look fantastic. So I'm preordering it.

The preorder for Galaxy Shuttle is up as well, but I'll skip it. I already have Siege Astrotrain and that Galaxy Shuttle looks ugly IMO.

Vehicle modes still pretty bad but the painted wheel rims and the wheel pegs all being the same color makes it have a little bit more going for it. First time I've heard slavish not pronounced slavish though and I always mispronounce things

That's a "beloved character" no one know about unless you're hardcore into the Japanese continuity. Plus B&W colored Astrotrain was already a thing. So we got a 2 for 1 hommage here.

Still, with the upcoming HASLAB Victory Saber, maybe we will have a line where we will get full updates on the G1 Japanese continuity transformers. It may take some years but I'm sure it's on the drawing board.

Yeah, nobody cares enough about Galaxy Shuttle for him to get his own mold. He was pretty much a nobody even in the cartoon that featured him. Just a glorified space bus more than anything.

At least functionally-similar characters like Sky Lynx and Omega Supreme had personality. Galaxy Shuttle was just a generic, unmemorable dude. Even the TFWiki intro text pokes fun at the fact that Victory did nothing to make him stand out as a character.

The best argument I've seen so far is that a new shuttle bot mold could do double duty for Galaxy Shuttle and Armada Jetfire, but I'm not sure there's enough variety between those or demand to justify two decoes out of that.

I'm guessing the decision here was less "how can we release Galaxy Shuttle" and more "what's another good leader class repaint. These region-exclusive characters are logical choices for that.

Of course personally I would've rather seen Stalker or other redecoes from Double Dealer, but that's a whole other thing.

Which could be effectively ignored by the fandom, like Galaxy Shuttle's train mode; or incorporated into the new version in a hypothetical MW Soundwave, like a Laserbeak design someone here suggested years ago.

Long ago I did a DD custom based on Cybertron Defence Red Alert. Of course the pictures died along Photobucket and I'd need make new pictures and a new thread to show it. I pulled off a convincing bird mode with some misstransformation and extra custom accessories.

Oh yeah, but it's been years since I did. The original thread is buried, and the pictures are lost. If I can find the old pictures, I could create a new thread. If not, I'll have to start over from scratch. I still have my custom on hand at least.
I can confirm the old pictures are lost forever, died along my previous computer.

I can create a new thread in the Transtopia forum with new pictures if anyone want to see it.
