Huh, I honestly thought this was going to be the Earthspark Optimus toy. But it kinda reminds me more of the g2 combat hero optimus prime that had the air powered firing missile. The lower legs are facing the other direction though. Still, I went from kinda wanting this to REALLY wanting this!

I admit to some surprise. I thought it was going to be just another ER or Legacy repaint, but it appears to be mostly 'new', at least in the way it Transforms. Still not sold on wanting one, but at least they didn't phone it in with just another recolored ER Optimus.

Just got mine in the mail (I was hoping to submit my unboxing and review to the site, but looks like I got beat by a few hours) I only see maybe 2 reused parts on Prime himself. The forearm covers and and maybe part of the faux chest piece. Everything else looks all new and even those parts may be new and just seem familiar. This would make a great hero prime retooling. You'd just need to flip the legs.

I'm waiting with anticipation to get mine. Let's hope A3&U will deliver the preorder in time.

With just the right mod, we could have Hero Optimus Prime. Too bad everything is pinned in the knee area.

things I noticed:

Earthrise trailer got a new connector piece to attach to this cab.

The transformation is very involved.

The truck looks great.

Robot mode looks really good.

I’m not feeling the Santa deco, nut if its released as the Amazon Truck we saw listed a while back, I’d probably want to buy it.

Being a licensed Volvo truck I don’t see it being released in a regular generations line.

EDIT: Oh dear... He forgot to talk about the trailer and even the gun! That trailer is the ER trailer, but with an added adapter so that it can fit on the new truck.

Mine still hasn't showed it's shipped yet from Hasbro Pulse

Mine arrived from Pulse, And he is really fun. Brand new mold, and it's nice. Transformation is surprisingly involved. It's much better than the Laser Prime mold.

I did buy an extra Christmas tree from Target to complete the package too.
