Parts we've lost to the Floor Monster

When you're little, it's normal to sometimes leave a piece behind when playing with a toy outside - especially away from home.
But there's something more insidious, something that can strike kids and adults alike:
The Floor Monster.

It's happened to most of us, from time to time. A part or accessory has fallen to the floor, possibly behind or under a piece of furniture. You take your eyes off it for half a second, and it's gone. Sometimes it resurfaces later, sometimes it inexplicably disappears without a trace.

A notable instance I had was Universe Leo Prime's tail/whip. Vanished.. I think almost 10 years ago? Fell on the floor under my bed, never saw it again.

Currently missing SIEGE Apeface's head and shield. Head had been on the surface of things on the floor, has skidded off to parts unknown. Hopefully it turns up. Shield might have done the same, might have fallen in the laundry.. Hard to say right now.

What parts have all of you lost to the floor monster?

When I first moved into my townhouse and was setting up the Beast Machines collection, I put the abomination that is Supreme Cheetor on the top shelf, at which point his tail decided to drop off and went down the back of the cupboard which is where it stayed until I moved 18 months ago.

I made sure when setting him up again to not knock the tail.

I got a G1 Dreadwing and decided to clean it up (still have to put the reprolabels on) and in the process lost his tiny nosecone. Why that was a separate piece on it's own is beyond me.

I have a WST Soundwave but no Ravage. Like fifteen years ago I had him on my desk at work and one day I must've accidentally knocked Ravage to the floor and never noticed. He really is the teeniest tiniest thing in the world and when I realized what happened I could never find him. So if anybody really, really wants him, he's somewhere between the floorboards on the third floor at Ubisoft Montreal.

I lost a red piece that fell off Potp Grimlock upon opening him and removing those annoying plastic straps, no idea where it is from or what it does, found it just a week ago and it has since disapeared.

Having said that I misplaced TR Triggerhappy for a year after having him lying around for posing him and then somehow putting him at the back of a totally different shelf. I've somehow lost Beast Machines Rattraps tail which annoys me as he was a figure that wasnt available at retail that I had to get from ebay back in the day.

The floor has developed a taste for gundam head crests more than anything else, when I'm making them, I'm sure it can be heard saying 'Feed me, Feed me Now'.

:KREMZEEK: Mp05's adorable Kremzeek. Had him sitting at the edge of the top shelf bookcase in the living room, Moved another figure which ever so softly bumped into him, And POOF.
Gone.
In an angry fit of grief stricken rage, I tore the entire living room apart.. Never found him, He's still MIA.
Since the bookcase was right next to an electrical outlet, I can only assume he climbed in and went home.. :-(
Although.. I am moving soon, So maybe there's still hope to find him. I doubt it.. But maybe..

I have a similar one. Airazor, her talon/gun got lost to SAND MONSTER. I took her outside on the beach with her gun on the arm and the weapon got buried in the sand less than a day after i purchased it during my vacation.

Once left G2 Bruticus missing an arm because I could not find my G2 Brawl to save my life. Spent months that way. Tore up the room they were in looking. Only found him the day we were about to move out of the house because he'd fallen behind the huge wooden bookshelf I kept all my transformers on. It's like six or eight feet wide, and he'd fallen right in the middle of it.

When me and my sister were little kids, sometimes my mom would take us with her when she went to work when she couldn't find anyone to watch us. We'd bring a few toys, and sit in the back room for a few hours. One day, I lost the Over-run action master figure I'd brought with me, but had absolutely no idea where it went. A while later, my mom got transferred to a different store. A good long while after that, the original store was short on help, and she was asked to go cover at that store for a day, and it happened to be one of the days we'd went with her. I was in the back, playing with whatever random stuff I brought that day, when I noticed this red thing poking out of a stack of cases of Gatorade. I looked closer, and it turned out to be my missing Over-run figure. I was ecstatic, but much later on, I thought back on the whole thing and had to think to myself: "Wait, how long was that Gatorade sitting there? Someone needs to check the expiration dates..."

My mom admitted to me once that when I was a kid if I left any little parts laying around like missiles, small guns or Seeker landing gear when she was cleaning she'd vacuum them up. As an adult I didn't get mad, but as a collector I was screaming inside a bit.

These days it's usually hair triggered missiles flying off on their own that I lose to the void around my desk. Though realistically I've probably lost more things to the recliner than the floor.

Ack.. I can relate. As an adult (who sometimes gets behind on keeping his room clean) I have lost some parts to a hyperagressive mom-tidy.

The parts in question were Vector Prime and Override's Cyber Keys.

I've lost several spring-loaded missiles. Some of them have turned up, but I've got the devil's time figuring out which figure they go to. It's one big reason I'm glad they've stopped the spring-loaded gimmick.

I think I lost my Titans Return Rodimus Prime Titan Master to the couch. Or maybe the vacuum got to him. :/

I'm now missing Siege Skytread's tank mode gun which makes me never want to transform him out of robot mode.

As a kid in the 80's, I lost all sorts of stuff, My original Omega Supreme lost most of his yellow clips ;) . But at the age of 12, Starting with Fort Max I swore to try to keep it in tact. I did end up losing Cog's small gun, and the "Green Door" broke, I restored it years later on eBay, and found the small gun as well making it 100% complete again, before selling it in 2007 with the rest of my collection up to that point.

But, since starting to collect again in 2015, I have been meticulous about not losing things. I hope I haven't given my son a syndrome ;) . We actually started with Kre-O in 2011. I gave up on this though, While we were able to keep all the Kreon minifigures in tact, all of the playsets ended up getting mixed up in a giant bin. Our whole family even spent the good portion of 2 days trying to sort them out at one point before giving up. Like The Lego Movie, I just basically let my kids have free reign as long as we kept the minifigs in tact.

As for all our Generations toys 2015-current. All parts are accounted for. Yes there were some scares, but I made my son comb his bedroom and closets until he found them.

Crashbash himself. Brought it from Europe to the US so it's extra sour to me. :-(
