Thanks to Podcast legend ScottyP, we have news that Takara is running yet another campaign centered around a collectible version of a live action Transformer's weapon. The new contest, as was posted on Dengeki Hobby, gives you the opportunity to win 3 different versions of the sword that came with the Age of Extinction First Edition Optimus Prime figure. This contest appears to be a cross-promotion between Transformers, Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Anime (a series about kid who drive cars and rescue people from Japan, kind of like a Gundam/Rescue Bots crossover), and Shinkalion (humans pilot transforming bullet trains to protect Japan), 3 of Takara's current transforming robot lines.

The campaign offers 3 different colors of the sword, the first being a blue "Water Force Splash Sword", the second being a red "Flame Power Burning Justice" sword, and the third green one being a "Wind Force Blast Sword." The swords are prizes for those who spend 3000 yen beginning August 4th.

See the links, they are anime shows with piloted mechs, one in the form of kids in super cars as rescue bots, one in the form of bullet trains. I don't really know anything more past that point

Meanwhile The Last Knight just got released on DVD/BD in Japan last week (7/4). This promotion seems to be timed basically between the two dates.

Funnily, I'm more interested in who is the blue robot next to Prime, he looks cool. The swords are OK too I guess

eh, i prefer Prime's regular sword (don't think much of that Prime figure either. Which one is it? Super Kibbly Prime. I'm happy with my TLK Voyager Prime and the Dr Wu upgrade sword and shield. But damn I saw a video of the unique toys Challenger transforming and wish that could be produced in Voyager size. How it hides all the truck kibble away is beautiful

The promo weapons they usually put out (chromey goodness) are beauts. These look like gummy.
